    Hollywood Hogan

We are visiting the Philly area from TX and stopped by on our way to the airport. The food was amazing!!! I had the Scuba Steve and it was one of the best hoagies I've ever had. My husband had the Hollywood Hogan and my son (a vegetarian) had the Ashley. We were all very happy with our food. If I were local, I'd be a repeat customer, for sure!

We made our first trip here as we were in the Neumann University area. First thing I would say is don't let the location fool you. It might be a bit off putting that the restaurant is within a shopping plaza/center, but don't judge a restaurant by it's building! On the note of judgment, I will also say the tables inside also needed a quick wipe down. So why four stars? Well the staff was awesome, very friendly and efficient. It was surprisingly busy with take out orders and actual patrons, all for a lunch on Wednesday. That should tell you the second reason for my four stars, the great food. Everyone that entered and exiting the restaurant definitely seemed excited about their orders. We were so happy that all four of our sandwiches were done so well. We made a few removals from the sandwiches and one was wrong, but we never really get upset about that because we are asking to make changes. Even so the food was amazing regardless and we all were so full from even just 1 half each that we were able to have dinner for tonight as well!

I ordered boneless wings and this is what I got! Fried within an inch of their lives floating in butter.

Love the sandwiches and am ok with the prices of the sandwiches. Just don't see how 2 chicken fingers are $8.

After having difficulty deciding what to eat for dinner, we landed on Wolf's. We ordered in the restaurant and waited for our order to be ready. We were told 20-30 minutes but we're out in about 15. The dining area was as expected for a mostly take out joint. The tables were all covered in crumbs. The music was uncensored and competing with the tv for volume. I don't think I'd sit in. The FOOD however was delicious! I got the pogo which was packed with so much flavor that I didn't want to stop eating even after I was full! So stinkin good!!!! My husband ordered the Nashville Rebel. It was dipped in Nashville hot sauce which I couldn't eat(I am not a spicy girl). My husband on the other hand DEVOURED it! He said it was so good and spicy. Needless to say, we will be back. We'll just place our order online for pick up.

Horrible! I ordered through DoorDash. Gluten free roll in toasted. No meat! Order elsewhere!

First time visiting this sandwich shop and will definitely be coming back. The guys working greeted us immediately upon arrival (whereas a business just a few doors down didn't acknowledge us at all). They were very busy, so the tables weren't cleaned, but we had no problem wiping one off for ourselves. We ordered four different sandwiches and each one was amazing! They have a cool menu with lots of options and creative names to their sandwiches. "The Ashley" was a great vegetarian choice with panko breaded mozzarella, Roma tomatoesX basil aioli, arugula, and balsamic reduction. "The Dalton" was a chicken fried cheesesteak topped with country style sausage gravy. "The Captain America" was a chicken cutlet with capicola, American cheese, tomato, and honey Dijon on a toasted roll (we did ask for no tomatoes, but they forgot). "The DeNiro" was chicken cutlet, roasted peppers, prosciutto, pesto Mayo, arugula, red onion, aged provolone, and balsamic reduction on a toasted roll (we did ask for no cheese, and they did remember!) The tv had The Fresh Prince playing and there were plenty of tables to sit and eat. Fun posters on the wall of some of the Italian greats (Godfather, Sopranos, Goodfellas). My favorite was the sign in the window that said "Presidents are Temporary-WuTang is Forever" Can't wait

Pickle Rick - bourbon bbq brisket, fried pickles, cooper sharp, garlic aioli on a seeded Sarcone's roll

Was in the area and Wolf's, located in a strip mall was in my travels. My first thought when I looked at the menu was Primo's (because of the sandwich names mostly), but with more specialty sandwiches. The regular rolls are Aversa, but pay the extra buck for a Sarcone's seeded roll! The staff was very friendly and we had a great conversation about the sandwich options. They all had passion and thoughts on pretty much the entire menu which was great to hear. Seating wise you can sit up against the store front window or on regular tables. The bathroom was clean, you have to walk through the entire operation to get to it and all their equipment and supplies were organized and clean so that's always nice to see! I had to laugh at myself because I selected a sandwich that was supposed to be on the lighter side and it was freaking huge! I bypassed the larger Big Memphis bbq brisket, smoked gouda mac n chez, jalapenos, onion rings, bourbon bbq sauce for a Pickle Rick bourbon bbq brisket, fried pickles, cooper sharp, garlic aioli (Same price $10.50 that's with the extra dollar). The sandwich was loaded with fried pickle spears, pulled bbq brisket, gooey sharp provolone and garlic aioli. The flavors went well together and it was perfect on that seeded roll. It's a messy sandwich to handle so the fork they gave me came in handy. I'm a sucker for smoked gouda so a return trip is in order for some of their mac n cheese. Great experience here and a decent solid sandwich. My advice would be, come hungry. Thanks guys!

It had that welcoming, hometown vibe where everyone seemed comfortable, and you could tell the staff genuinely cared about the food and the people they were serving. I've had Italian subs all over the country and this one is honestly the best I've ever had. Fresh bread, quality meats, crisp toppings, and everything perfectly balanced. Nothing flashy, just an incredible sandwich made the right way. The biggest compliment I can give is that before heading to the airport to fly back to California, I made sure to stop here one more time. I knew I'd regret leaving without one last Italian sub and I even bought a shirt as a souvenir. If you're anywhere nearby, don't overthink it. This is one of those rare places that lives up to the hype. Great food, great people, and the kind of hometown atmosphere that makes you feel like you've been coming here for years!

Meats were decent and fresh, rolls fresh too. I was told I'd get a 12" roll for $5.50, which would have been an amazing deal, and I was all ready to rave about the deal on Yelp, but what I got was only an 8" roll, which, in light of my anticipation, was kind of disappointing, but for $5.50 it was still a good deal for the quality of deli meats. The store was clean and tidy. There was a dining area if you wants to eat in, and typical selection of tastykakes, chips, drinks, etc. that come with the deli atmosphere. Typical old school corner store.

You'll be looking for Maxi's Bar which is located next door and connected via an inside door between the two businesses. I found parking across the street, which was metered! The staff inside was very friendly and helpful. They were passionate about the food and you could tell by the way they described everything to me. The owner was sitting at a table chatting with a couple of old veterans. He was nice and very appreciative for my business. They had a TV inside with the midday news on. The menu had a lot to choose from (burgers, steak sandwiches, chicken, roast beef and meatballs to name a few, but I wanted to see what "THE PORK BOSS" theme on the menu's was all about. I ordered the Hot Hooker at $13.75 - Smoked Hot links (think foot long hot dogs), topped with House pulled pork, mild provolone & bacon, topped with Ghost Pepper BBQ sauce. The sandwich was huge. The bread was fresh, pulled pork was a tad dry, but the bbq sauce made up for it. I would have asked for sharper provolone, but I'm not sure if they had it. The bacon was crispy and the hot links provided a nice kick, but lacked the smoke I was looking for. If they make that BBQ sauce homemade and available for purchase I would be a buyer. Overall it was a huge meaty meal of a 'wich and it held together really well! If I'm in the area I'll return for a second round.
