Cool spot! We took a little "ferry" across to the restaurant which made it super special. The ladies had the Hearts of Palm salad and Crabcakes and they loved them! I had the bacon wrapped scallops which were OK. Service was great and the atmosphere was excellent!

Here is my mom on this special 77th outing !

Food, Ambiance, the environment with a history going back to the 1920's ! Key Features Historic & Unique: Opened in 1928, it was a speakeasy and gambling den, attracting figures like Al Capone, JFK, and Winston Churchill. Waterfront Access: Reached by a complimentary water taxi from a mainland dock, adding to the experience. Cuisine: Focuses on fresh seafood (dolphin, snapper, lobster, stone crab) and other options like steaks and chicken, with many dishes prepared in various styles (broiled, blackened, etc.). O.M.G. Kayla and the team rocked my mom's 77th birthday dinner and what a chance at a unique experience for a woman who has it all !!!!

The first word that comes to mind is WOW!! From the boat ride over to the food and our AMAZING waitress Melissa. She made our dinner experience incredible. Thank you for our little treat to take home.

Very pricey (63 for rib eye) 43 for scallops Ok. The review. We got a ferry ride to the restaurant. It's a very old restaurant (old. Weathered, worn, got character) We got a crab cake (25) pricey but really tasty Hubby got rib eye (what can I say, you don't get steak at a seafood place). Overdone but still good. No we didn't send it back, we asked for medium, it was well done. I got scallops. They were big, sweet, tasty in a lovely scampi. Veggies were green beans (boring), we both got cheesy mashed potatoes (meh) Please note, the more expensive the menu, the pickier I am. The bread they served was piping hot, fresh, delicious The bartender is awesome!!!

Even though I had this place bookmarked for years, I never visited when I lived in Broward. I decided to make reservations here for our 10th wedding anniversary, since we were in town for a birthday party. I even received a voicemail and text message from Caps the day of. Our reservation was at 9pm and the voicemail had requested we be at the dock at 8:45pm. Howe, when I called back, she requested I be at the dock by 8:30pm. We decided to take an Uber to the dock since it was our first time visiting. Luckily, there was another couple who joined us at the dock who have visited Caps previously. There was a young kid who docked his boat at the dock, which was confusing but the Caps boat came shortly after and chased that other boat away. We were greeted by the captain and welcomed aboard. I wish the ride was longer but still nice anyway. Fun fact, after residing in Florida for 15 years, this was my first boat ride in the state! Since we arrived early, we decided to head to the bar first. We had no idea it was separate from the restaurant. I am glad we went though because it was awesome! Talk about stepping into history! Luckily there were only 4 patrons-2 at the bar and 2 at a table. The bartender greeted us and offered us drinks. I ordered an extra dirty martini and hubs ordered a beer. We made our way to the restaurant close to our reservation. The host greeted us, led us to a table, and wished us a happy anniversary. Our server soon after greeted us. Even though we had our drinks still from the bar, we ordered a bottle of wine. That was quickly brought over & served to us. We then attempted to place our order and when hubs ordered chicken (he does not eat seafood), we were informed they ran out. We were very sad and the only item hubs was interested in was the hearts of palm salad. I ordered the crab cakes entree with the loaded mashed potatoes and vegetables. We also ordered a house salad with extra dressing. The food arrived quickly and everything tasted good. The crab cakes came highly recommended by the woman we were on the boat with and I'm glad I took her word. They were super filling though and I barely got through it. The mashed potatoes were good but I think I was expecting something insane with the description of loaded lol. The Palm salad was good but holy crap-it was $20! We ordered a slice of key lime pie for dessert because my sugar was dropping and it was really good. Our server even delivered it to us with a little candle for our anniversary! That was really sweet. Overall a fun experience and we are hoping to visit again when we are in SoFL again.

Wow! That sums up my experience. Taking the boat over to this rich historical location was the ultimate dining enhancement of the day. Loved the food - one of the best ribeye I have ever had. Fabulous! The atmosphere is not comparable to any other feeling of nostalgia, history, and great dining experience. Dan was my server and he was excellent. Great job by all. A must stop if you're hungry for great food and a little history.

cap's is an extremely unique experience with amazing food. you have to take a 5-minute ferry to get to the actual restaurant and once you're there, you are immersed in a historic building with a lot of old decor. the staff is all super friendly, and the food was incredible! the crab cakes were my favorite! the scallops, calamari, and caprese salad were also very good. the key lime pie was delicious, the perfect balance of sweet and sour. i would highly recommend cap's!!

This place is cool and has so much history. You have to go. Make sure to get the tour at the end. Melissa was our server. She is great and made it so much better. The food is good. I would suggest the crab cakes.

The delightful experience starts when you park and get on the dock for a ferry to this restaurant. A short ferry ride and you get to choose between the bar building or the restaurant building.

The ferry needs to be refurbished. Captain was great! Water was leaking inside not a deluge but the cover needs to be replaced. Our server Melissa was great and she made excellent Martini's! We had Calamari with various sauces. My Escargot was good however it needed more garlic. Warm delicious bread and butter. We ordered the seafood platter however the Scallops were not prepared properly, they were fried and Scallops should have a beautiful sheen when prepared properly. Expensive entree's but not prepared with any seasoning or flair. Very boring presentation on our seafood platter,French Fries were soft not crispy. Needs to be updated.

Great place to eat!! Went here to watch the LHP boat parade and it was a great time! The fried snapper was excellent!!! I wish they included the entire thing from head to tail though. The sauce that came with it was so delicious and made the entire dish. Mashed sweet potato's were indeed sweet ! The boat driver recommended the crab cakes and they did not disappoint. Filet was also very tasty ! overall a very enjoyable experience and a Lighthouse Point Staple!

Went to Cap's tonight for the first time in 35 years and was a little hesitant due to recent reviews saying it's gone downhill. Well, those reviews are just wrong. We stopped at the bar for a cosmo and an old fashioned before heading into the restaurant. Our server, Benita, was an absolute gem. So attentive and friendly and gave us a ton of great trivia about the place. We started with calamari and escargot - both to die for. I had the crab cakes (amazing) with a wonderful side of mashed sweet potatoes. So good. My husband got a giant piece of mahi mahi that was the best I've ever tasted. I really wanted key lime pie but we were too stuffed in a good way. I'm so glad we gave Cap's a chance because we will definitely be back!

Applewood bacon wrapped scallops were delish!

I did not expect the tacos to be so big. I also got this place mixed up with another place called the beach house so I was looking at the completely wrong menu! I took a pic for anyone looking and didn't feel like clicking 4x to get to it on their website. Back to the tacos -- the slaw was very juicy so don't forget to place your napkin! The mango salsa was not too sweet to overpower the rest of the taco and the beans and rice -- we were told was cooked in beef broth so it was very flavorful! We entered and met Sandy, the nicest yet down to earth hostess. She greeted us and walked us to tables toward the back which would accompany 3 people. This was away from the Steel Drums which was the main reason we were visiting the establishment. I mentioned I had called previously to make sure the steel drums were definitely playing tonight and we really wanted to be seated closer to watch and hear the entertainment. All the seats close to where he was were 2 top tables or the bar but my son is 12- so that was a "no." She then said we could sit at 2 tables but we couldn't move the chairs. We said that was GREAT as it was close to the music and we didn't mind sitting in a "line" as that's kinda like sitting at the bar. We were very pleased and had the nicest server who was very attentive and helpful. I think the manager was a little confused as to why Sandy sat our family like that but what she did was provide excellent customer service and helped our family have a peaceful relaxing evening. And, for that - Sandy is the best and say "Hi" to her next time you go there. She will do her best to assist you. We will be back to the Nauti-Dawg. The food was really good and very filling.
