I felt robbed after going on this fishing trip!!! I paid for a 12 hour fishing trip and got 11 hours of riding on a boat and i hour of actual fishing. I've been coming here deep sea fishing for years and will never come back again. It was a horrible experience! No one on the boat caught more than three fish the entire day. I personally only caught 2 fish in the 12 hours at sea. The only time we caught anything was the first 30 mins and the last 30 mins. Planned, I think so. Even the crew went inside and ate hamburgers and drank beer while we were dropping lines into the water. Knowing we were not going to catch fish. I just want to thank Captain Bobo Hobbs for showing the worst fishing trip I have ever been on and the first time I've never had fun fishing in my life! read more

So I gave 2 since maybe it was an off day. But a couple of things I need to vent about. First off the boat we booked didn't fill up and I was worried it may not go because it was about 20%. I indeed received a call and was told it was broken. Don't lie. Just tell me it didn't have enough people and I will understand. Next I chose to take another boat instead of a refund because we really wanted to go. The boat in general didn't catch a lot but hey like I said maybe it was an off day. However, what I cannot forgive is what happened to us. The deck hand fished as they normally do. But we were using squid and he was using cut bait. Hardly anyone was catching anything except for the deck hands. The fish obviously preferred their cut bait which was not Available to the customers. They were questioned about it and said oh it doesn't matter but based on who was catching fish it did. Also one of them was fishing right next to us getting bit after bite and catching fish...we didn't catch even 1 fish and got very few bites literally 4 ft away while he was very lively with his catches. Sorry but not fair. If a fish is presented with a bait that they obviously prefer right next to one that they are used to they hey I don't blame the fish. MEH! I was looking forward to eating seafood while in PCB. It really felt like the same quality of food you could get at Chilis. We had calamari, surf and turf, 2 glasses of wine and the bill was almost $90. I was prepared to pay but the quality was lacking. Plus I had to flag down a busy boy to take our extra dirty plates that I was stacking on the table in hopes that our waiter would notice. I guess the stack was not high enough. Seriously you can do better in restaurant choices. read more

Great restaurant and super friendly staff! Michael, the Host of the back dining room was a friendly breath of fresh air. He welcomes everyone that comes through the doors like he has known them his whole life. The food was excellent and Jordan our waitress was excellent. Highly recommend you treat yourself to a dinner at capt andersons!!! read more

Lucked out, to Shell Island I was the only one on the express boat. Stayed on Shell Island an hour. During trip to Shell Island, no mention about island life: i was prepared to visit island, water, food, etc, most people are not so prepared. Lack of information is reason i 1 star it. read more

Captain Anderson's has been a long time favorite restaurant of ours for many years, which is why we chose to go on our anniversary. What a mistake!!! First, I ordered "Oven broiled jumbo shrimp stuffed with crab meat". My husband ordered a medium rare steak. His food was delivered minus mine "because she didn't have room on her tray". A couple minutes later a dish I did not order was brought to me (broiled scallops). When I told the waitress she brought the wrong thing, she looked at what she had written down and said it should have been "broiled shrimp"....I again told her oven broiled shrimp stuffed with crab meat. She replied she would have to change it (like I told her wrong to begin with). She comes back to the table to inform me they were completely out of crab meat and I could only get the broiled shrimp. I just told her never mind because my this time I had already gotten full on a baked potato and bread. My husband's steak was so cold he couldn't eat it. I commented that we were so disappointed in our meal and that this was supposed to be our anniversary celebration. We just asked for a bill for what we had been able to eat and were just ready to leave. She asked us to give her just a minute. Then she brings out another steak for my husband, and somehow magically made the broiled stuffed shrimp appear (although they were "completely out of it" earlier. This time around the steak was barely cooked and tasted horrible; I was so full I had to ask for a box for the shrimp...and by the way, the shrimp were delicious. Too bad I was so full from salad, bread and a potato that I couldn't enjoy them. To make matters worse, she comes back to our table and says "I'm sorry, but this one is not my fault...your card was declined". What????!!!! Then she looks at the card and tells us "Oh, I did not notice the card is American Express. As of June 1st we no longer accept AMEX." Now, how many people seated around us overheard her say our card was declined?? It was NOT declined! How embarrassing!!! Thankfully we also have a VISA card. She tried to make up for it and threw in a dessert to go. Nothing was taken off our bill for a steak that was non edible - no discount - nothing but a free dessert. What a sick feeling to know we just paid $70 for a terrible anniversary celebratory meal. Oh and by the way, just tasted the dessert...not sure what it is...some sort of pecan cake....had to throw it out as well. Tasted dry and old. Sad that one of our local favorites was such a bust. We won't be going back for a long, long time... if ever. Thanks for ruining our anniversary. And just so everyone knows that reads this, we are two people that do not complain about our food so please don't think this is the norm for us to post a bad review. read more

Terrible policies. We got onto the island and we went to go back, they left half of my family he stranded over there which was very unsafe and scary for them. All they need to do is implement better policies and it could have resolve this before anything ever happened. I don't know if we will ever use this company again. You may want to avoid them for your own safety and find another way for over to shell Island. I'm a little surprised OSHA has not shut these guys down read more

We went out with the Captain Anderson North Star fishing boat on July 7th, left out at 7 am., I have been out fishing with this crew before and it was wonderful, but this time, for what you pay for, it was aweful!!! All we did was rid the boad, did not get to fish much at all. I am very upset, if I wanted a boat ride I would have paid a lot less, but I wanted to fish ( wich we did very little of). I tlaked to the manager after the trip and she said she would call after talking to the owner but nothing. We go to Panama City a lot and like to fish, but for now, I have mixed feelings about this fishing fleet! read more

My husband & I went on the 6 hr. fishing trip on 9/4/16. This trip had been scheduled a month in advance & I have to say this is the first time that I have been disappointed. The weather was horrible considering the hurricane that had hit 70 miles north of PCB just several days prior. The fishing was not even up to standard. We were told that Red Snapper was out of season for them, which is not what the e-mail that I received stated. Trigger fish could not be kept, which seemed to be the only thing that anyone was catching. What few fish were caught, were either too small or "out of season". The deck hands appeared rushed & with the exception of one seasoned deck hand, didn't even give the individuals that were fishing an opportunity to take pictures. My husband & I understand that you can not control the weather, but under the circumstances, should have been given an opportunity to at least reschedule. read more
