He went to the back, and came out and told me since it wasnt in the food they cant do anything; Maybe next time it will be!! 5 of us got a bill for $250 which we don't feel it was worth it. Ordered chicken tenders basket, calamari basket, fried fisherman's platter, 2 boiler bags with lobster tail (one with shrimp, other with mussels), and tried the beignets. The good: the corn sections in the bags were very good, as were the garlic noodle sides. Cajun fries were ok, and the lobster tails were good and meaty. However, the seafood in the bags were all overcooked. The lobster tail meat was extremely hard to take remove from the shell, and the mussels were tough and didn't taste fresh. A seafood restaurant should never use frozen mussels! The vibe is casual and fun, and they provide bibs, gloves, even sunscreen! However, the price is high for the quality of the food. Seriously my favorite place to eat in the area. I drive 20 minutes out of my way to eat here everytime I am in Boston on business. The Steamer basket is excellent but wear a bib and use lots of napkins, plus breath mints as they season everything perfectly with lots of garlic (lots). I get the steamer with head on shrimp and sausage. It comes with 1 corn, 1 new potato and a side of noodles but you have to request that. It wasn't super greasy and the calamari was nice and fluffy. My nephew got the fish basket which he thought was good. Then we got a boil. I go a regular boil because king crab leg wasn't on the lunch option. I added sausage to the boil. It came with a potato and corn. It was far from the beets king crab I've ever had. It was just ok. My server Idania was very sweet and attentive always making sure to check on us and did a great job customizing our order the way that we wanted. I love this place! I crave this place often so I do go a lot. The moment you walk in you smell like seafood and seasoning haha, so don't wear your nice clothes. I usually never have a hard time finding a table since it's more of a sit down-eat and leave when you're done type of restaurant. There are no reservations, but the workers there turn the tables over real quickly- Most of the time right when a party leaves which makes more tables available ASAP. Every time I go I get the combo. (It's more worth it.) Make sure you say "combo," otherwise they will charge you for the regular price. My go to is their combo- shrimp head off and crawfish with their Louisiana medium sauce. With this order I can get a free side, which I always get a side of Cajun fries. Mmmmm so good! If Im with my boyfriend we normally get the pick 4 combo- 2 shrimp head offs, crawfish, and clams. With all these I can either get a free lobster or snow crab. We always get the snow crab and it is delicious if you dip it in the sauce!!!! Keep in mind the combos have to be all in the same bag, so do get this or share with someone if you both can't compromise on the same sauce. Fyi- you pay extra for head off. Their alcoholic beverages is full of juice, so I would recommend you saving your money or putting it towards their delicious corn or fries! They use to have a free cotton candy machine right by the register, but it's been off every time I went these past couple of months. This experience is a self serve place, so don't expect a host to seat you or servers to bring you food. If you're looking for that, they have another location that does all of that. I prefer this location in stoneham because I don't need someone checking up on me when I'm stuffing my face with a bib on and dirty gloves haha. I wish they had clams by the utensils, so we don't have to ask the workers for them every time. Most of the time they are so busy preparing food, the last thing I want to do is distract them and mess them up. There is a parking lot right outside. Cap't Loui in Stoneham SPECIFICALLY is my favorite boiler(??) restaurant in Massachusetts. My friends and I use to drive almost 20 miles once a few weeks to eat when it was one of only few restaurants for louisiana seafood. Before Louisiana seafood was widely introduced on the east coast, I tried the famous Boiling Crab in California. I tried many newly opened spots here and capt loui is the only restaurant with sauce that is as delicious as Boiling Crab, if not better. Other than seafood, their wings are soo yummy as well. It's slightly spicy and the crisp is perfect. Now that there is a Braintree location, I dont have to travel 20miles to get my fix anymore. read more

I was not a fan of this location compared to the Allston location. Their order of "live" crawfish I thought was very phony. It was 1lb crawfish with a variety of large and smaller crawfish (which is usually frozen) I did bring it to the staff's attention. About 15 minutes later, someone else came over to explain to me that is in fact "live" crawfish and that their batch was mixed. Maybe it was but for spending extra money on "live" crawfish, I expect it to be decent size for all of them. The Louisiana hot seasoning for this I thought was mediocre as well compared to the Allston location. Here again! Can't stop, won't stop. Got Combo C, 2 lbs of shrimps, 1 lb of mussels, and 1 lb of crawfish. Sides: garlic noodles, corn, and cajun fries. Sigh, the garlic noodles is what they can't get right here. Consistency is key. This time it tasted smokey. You can smell the burnt-ness. Our server was Henry and he was very good, but oh so patient with us! Remember I told you all that I went out to dinner with my husband and my sister. I had the fried chicken wings and fried shrimp. The wings were very juicy on the inside but oh so crunchy on the outside. It had the right amount of spicy to it and quite flavorful but the best part is that it was NOT GREASY or oily when you bite into it! NO ONE wants oily chicken. The shrimp was crunchy but cooked to perfection still very moist! My sister and Hubby ordered a broil. They had lobster, crawfish, shrimp, crabs and potatoes with the corn. The seafood was cooked to perfection! The season was on point and it was tasty not too salty or hot. Please beware that if you ask for extra sauce there is a fee. Let's recap!! Finally came back yesterday. Wow, after having gone for Vietnamese food the other day and the mild was really bland, I decided to go for medium here on the lemon pepper sauce. Lots of pepper! Spice levels don't match at these two different restaurants. I got the $11.95 lunch specials. Great value, lots of food. A couple near me got at least three meals with food left over. I got the clams and shrimp with a side of garlic noodles. There were more clam shells than I think there were clams and each clam was smaller than my pinky nail. Didn't taste like anything I recognized. The shrimp were better but overcooked by the time I started eating. If I get a boil again, I might try the mussels. Otherwise I'm going to stick with fried foods. A woman and her mom were planning to come back with someone they knew for the $1 oyster Tuesdays and three young women nearby were orgasmic when their oysters arrived. Pick from high tops, booths, or just regular tables, this place accommodates all kinds of groups. Fill your own cups with water or soda and get your own condiments and necessities to dig into some N'awlin's seafood. Their medium spicy is very spicy for those who can't take spice, but their Louisiana seasoning is super flavorful while their lemon pepper butter is more butter than anything else. Shrimp, mussels, and a free lobster, heck yes! The adult capri sun is definitely something to try, they're super sweet so be careful because you won't see it hit! I didn't think the fruity version was that good though, maybe go for the pineapple. Wrap up your meal with funnel cake fries topped with ice cream! SO GOOD. And definitely a group share kind of food.
