Fried clam strip roll. DELICIOUS.
Dan K.

If there's one thing I know about New England, is that some of the best places to eat are some of the most unassuming. Billy's reviews made them stand out and I was drawn to them like a mosquito to the blue zapper light. My first meal in Boston, I was looking for fried clams. Billy's delivered. Got a clam "set" which is effectively a meal or combo (Read: comes with fries) and a cup of chowder. This is the kind of meal where afterwards you want to nap it out. It was exactly what I wanted. Salty, chewy, clammy, hearty, fried, yum. I slept well that night.

Billy's Famous Roast beef lived up to it's name. As soon as you walk in, you can tell by the crowd and the smell of good roast beef that you are in the right place. I had the lobster roll. I kicked myself fir not getting the roast beef. The lobster roll had lots of huge chucks of real lobster including the tail split lengthwise, it had just enough mayo without overpowering the meat. I just couldnt stop staring at the huge roast beef sandwiches that were coming out hot and fresh. We also had the haddock which was fresh and lightly battered but needed salt. I will definitly be back. I think you know what I will order. We had good service from the staff and overs an excellent time.

Good sandwiches but i have to question the sanitation. The employees who prepare the food don't use gloves. Disgusting!!

Consistently good food. Clam chowder is always good. The shoestring fries are my favorite. Beef always good.

How is the Lobster roll?

It is good, full of lobster meat but not the best I've had in Boston. I'd get the roast beef instead.

Especially the home made biscuits. These were amazing. Hot, flaky, very much home made with a maple butter that is sinful. Entrees were mushroom tortellini and eggplant parm. Both portions were large and delicious. Very classic red sauce restaurant. For dessert it was limoncello cake and tiramisu. Both, light and tasty. If you want to stay local and have good Italian food, with a very nice ambiance, then this is the place. FYI -- park behind the building, there's plenty of free space and take the elevator up. And do make a reservation.

We started our evening in the outdoor dining area as the main dining room is a bit loud and it was a beautiful warm evening with the sun starting to set as we arrived. We salivated over the drinks menu but decided not to imbibe and save our use of calories for later. We started with the Stuffed Mushrooms, which were 5 large mushroom caps stuffed with a meatball like stuffing. They were really yummy and somehow escaped into our bellies before I could get a picture. Whoops. For entrees, we ordered the Pasta Louise (penne with chicken, artichoke hearts, and more n a creamy sauce) and Steak Pasta (penne with thin slices of steak, feta, and a light dressing). Both were delicious. The Pasta Louise is popular for a good reason - it is full of flavor and definitely worth ordering again! The steak pasta was good with a much milder flavor profile. The ingredients for everything tasted fresh. The only disappointment was the bread and butter which was a white scali-style bread with little plastic butter packets; I prefer dipping olive oil and spices with a heartier bread. The service was prompt, personal, and friendly. The main indoor space is a bit loud for my taste, so I will prefer to go again when I know I can sit at one of the pleasant outdoor tables. Of the many Italian restaurants in the area, this has been here for decades with good reason - they have a solid business. Enjoy!

Recently I was craving seafood BIG TIME. As a native Mainer who has lived in the area now for over…read more15 years, it can be tough to find places that serve "traditional" lobster dinners. (Typically consist of steamers, lobster, a baked potato and some corn on the cob if you're lucky). My husband found Turner's while doing a search for a place that would come close to giving me what I was looking for, and they delivered! We started off with the steamers. They're to die for... so tender, no sand in the bellies, and the broth? OOH the broth. It's delectable. It adds flavor that complements the clams perfectly (doesn't overwhelm them at all). My hard shell lobster was incredibly delicious. I'm usually a soft shell gal, but I will take whatever is offered - as long as the meat isn't tough, I'm fine to do the extra work. (It's part of the fun). The tail was split, which is helpful for people who don't know their way around a lobster- for me, I'd prefer it whole, so that's the only (extremely small!) thing I'd change next time. My baked potato and carrots were tasty and the waitress was attentive, kind, and she also had a sense of humor. My husband and I had an awesome evening, and we will be back!

It's your basic Italian seafood place. There is a singular type of clientele inside, which tells you how your experience will go. We got tuna "tacos" (more like crudo) as appetizers. This was the best part of the night. The tuna was delicious. For our mains, I got the New England Bouillabaisse and my friend got a fish dish. The food was on the salty side, it's great to have this down the road instead of having to go down to north end. We ended the night with the flourless cake. Our server was very friendly! But the food was just ok. Drive a little farther and get some Mexico Lindo instead.

The interior is nicely decorated, and for a smaller (than most) restaurant on a busy Friday night, we got our food and drinks pretty quickly. My mom and aunt ordered the short rib and they enjoyed their dishes. This is a cute place to catch up with friends, go on a date, or bring the little ones. Happy this is in the area!

That stood out and made both meals more enjoyable. Inside, the setup is comfortable and casual with a lively but manageable atmosphere. It is a good place for a meal or just drinks. The Stones is located right in downtown Stoneham and has easy off street parking, which is a plus. On my visits, I had the cheeseburger flatbread once and a steak the other time. Both were good. When I have been in others ordered the salmon, cheeseburger, and Cobb salad, and everything looked solid. No complaints from anyone. Overall, this is a reliable and easy place to come back to. Good food, strong service, and a setting that works for a range of occasions. I would come back anytime.

The chef behind this takeout / delivery sushi shop is Aline. She also appears to offer classes where she can teach you how to make your own sushi. She has been serving up Brazilian inspired sushi for 4 years. This is a new concept to me, but anything involving sushi is my cup of tea. The pickup location looks like office space when you enter, I assume the kitchen space is hiding behind the doorway. We tried a selection of the menu to get a feel for what they had to offer. Sushi offered is primarily salmon, but they've got crab stick if you're in the mood for a California roll, and some dessert sushi which we didn't try. Salmon is available raw or cooked in various rolls, hand rolls and other specialty items. Our favorite dish of the menu we tried was the salmon sashimi, it was fresh tasting salmon at a very reasonable portion size for the price. The owner/chef threw in a couple of complementary Brazilian inspired sushi items to try as well. The rice could use some additional seasoning, so hopefully by the time you give it a try this will be perfected! They are open Mon-Sat 12-3 and 5-10 in case you get hungry late.
