Okay so for whatever reason I've been craving a roast beef with cheese and sauce for the past week and I just got theirs with a pizza roll and oh my gosh, it was absolutely amazing!! The roast beef was so so good. The cheese and sauce combo with their thin slices of roast beef was chef's kiss. It was also the perfect portion size for me. Which place is just all right. Over the past year or so they are literally pricing themselves out of the Common Market. For instance today ( August 29th 2025 ) I ordered simply a french fry and an onion ring that's it. Those two sides cost me $14 and change. I go here often. Food is usually fresh and delicious menu is very big. It has something for everybody the piggy eater and the adventure eater a little on the price your side but not too bad. Went today and got combo .. clams and scallops. Half of the scallops looked like they sat around for a while after being cooked then they added a few more and cooked em all. So the double cooked ones were brown inside .. 4 ppl and got four little packs of ketchup. Sadly I've never gotten the taste for roast beef. So all I can say is my husband loves that this place is so close to where we live now and he really likes their roast beef sandwiches. Generous portions. They have skinny fries and onion rings and each sandwich or meal I've tried comes with heaps and heaps of each or a mix of both, depending on what you order. I've had their cheeseburger plate, tuna sandwich plate and hot dog plates; they've all been pretty decent, filling. I think the jr beef was fair, nothing different than Kelly's or Mikes. Charged for pickles. Billy's Famous Roast beef lived up to it's name. As soon as you walk in, you can tell by the crowd and the smell of good roast beef that you are in the right place. I had the lobster roll. I kicked myself fir not getting the roast beef. The lobster roll had lots of huge chucks of real lobster including the tail split lengthwise, it had just enough mayo without overpowering the meat. I just couldnt stop staring at the huge roast beef sandwiches that were coming out hot and fresh. We also had the haddock which was fresh and lightly battered but needed salt. I will definitly be back. I think you know what I will order. We had good service from the staff and overs an excellent time. read more

The North Shore is famous for roast beef - every single place around (Billy's included) reminds you of this in its nomenclature. Most of the roast beef restaurants around are decent but IMO Billy's is the top dog. Typically I get the Superbeef with everything on it but the seafood is also pretty good (including the lobster rolls when in season). My daughter typically eats the chicken fingers here which are pretty good and we split the Mac n cheese balls that are an addictive snack for our car ride home when we get takeout. Well I've been coming here for about twenty years so it's time I wrote a review. I now live out of state and only visit the area once a year, and make it a point to drive the 40-miles round trip because no other roast beef sandwich compares. I'd drive for this sandwich it if it were 80 miles. The roast beef is just the best ever...I don't know what else to say. Cooked perfectly medium rare and you get plenty of beef. My dad recently had the haddock fish plate and it was a really good amount of fish for the price. They have a large parking lot and I've never had a problem with parking. The booths inside were remodeled over the last few years. It's always clean and the service is efficient. Seriously I cant recommend this place enough. I'm so sad I have to wait until my next yearly visit to eat here again! read more
