Mind you this is first time in Western Massachusetts & at The Big E but it's not to be overlooked because the place matches similar places which do Cajun/Creole style food especially N'Awlins way. I opted first for a crab cake & chicken etouffe with shrimp/okra & overall pleasantly hitting everything I'd want & okay the music is modern hip-hop but it's one you can enjoy plus okra with the cooking style I see why it's a staple.

After reading the reviews, I guess my tastebuds are completely opposite from the other viewers. Based off of the reviews, we were expecting this to be our new spot and was totally disappointed. We ordered the okra, popcorn shrimp, hush puppies, red beans and rice and a shrimp, lobster and crab boil and a shrimp and lobster boil. We started off with the apps. Hush puppies and okra was a huge disappointment. Neither had any flavor. I didn't try the rice because I don't eat pork but my dinner seemed to like it. The popcorn shrimp was just okay. The boils had a sweet and spicy flavor to it and neither us liked that. I was going for Cajun which has no sweetness to it. We were under the impression corn and potatoes came with the boiled. They didn't - no big deal. We ordered two sides of corn and potatoes. Received them five to seven minutes later. The corn had cold spots and the center of the potatoes were ice cold. Another huge disappointment. I will say the lobster tasted very fresh!!!! We took home majority of our shrimp and unfortunately we never touch it after. It went in the trash. Our total was a little under $200 so to waste that, was not our goal but I didn't want to eat it because of the sweet flavor to the Cajun sauce. Unfortunately I won't be returning to this establishment.

At the big E, Lady at the bar was very nice no complaints, i asked the guy at the restaurant side if i could have a to go box and he said it was $2, at first I thought he was joking but he was serious and made me pay $2 for a to go box which I find kind of ridiculous for paying customers

    FRIED SHRIMP PO BOY

Never been to Louisiana, but holy smokes is their Shrimp Po'boy good. Loaded with 5 of the most succulent shrimp around and on the softest French bread you can imagine. First time there and they definitely have a repeat customer. Excellent service as well. Very friendly and the owner even adjusted the umbrella on the patio to block out the Sun when she brought the food out. Top notch all around

Another great meal at NOLA!!! Looking forward to their new place that will have indoor dining, which will be nice when the weather is bad!!

Was super super excited to try this place but was disappointed. The chicken strips were DEY and literally had zero flavor. They LOOKED like they were well seasoned and maybe the batter was but the chicken is tells was extremely bland. ZERO salt!!! The Shrimp Po Boy LOOKED good but again, the shrimp had zero flavor ..wasn't even that shrimpy. It's almost like they didn't season the chicken or shrimp before doing anything else. ZERO salt!!! I LOVED that they had nice, cold, Blackberry Ginger ale...one of my faves! The red beans and rice had a really nice flavor but there was about a 80 to 1 rice to beans ratio so there just was t much of it. There was only a few pieces of sausage cut in half to appear to be more.

So I made a late night run in the boilstoin area. So I stopped by no laws again to grab a quick bite. It was late and they were about to close. However, they still provided amazing service all of the food was great But I don't know why they can not seem to get their Pasta, right? It was still not hot, but I would still recommend this place. Because the food still tasted absolutely amazing.

I just had Oysters and blacked shrimp at Nola at the Big E and I was completely unprepared for what I got. The food at the Big E has gotten better but this was some next level stuff. I can't remember having oysters that fresh. Like I would serve them to Iron Chef Japan and not blink an eye. Also the Blackened shrimp was something you would have at a nice restaurant and not fair food. It saw strange to eat it and look at the fair food. You could eat at this place and close your eyes and picture yourself at a beach resort in New Orleans.

Oyster Po boys and Cajun fries were on point. Delicious.

Over 3 years ago, I left a 5 star review. They deserve another 5 star review. Stayed strong through the pandemic and continue to do so. Fried catfish is so moist. Fried shrimp, incredibly moist and wholesome. NOLA continues to stay consistent and serve incredible and flavorful seafood. Since the last few years, they seem to expanded their menu. No indoor dining available at the moment. But since the warm season is right around the corner, they do have outdoor seating. It's still one of the best seafood joints around imo at a reasonable price.

NOLA is a fabulous family-owned, one-stop shop for ultimate comfort food! I'm a big fan of their Po Boys and have tried their catfish, cajun chicken, and shrimp varieties. All were fried to a delicious crisp without the grease and enveloped in a warm freshly-made french bread that they make in house. Paired with their fresh toppings and secret sauce (I ask for on the side!), you're in for a great treat! Each Po Boy also comes with tasty cajun fries, which are far superior to the cajun fries at Five Guys. Much less greasy and salty, much more crispy. Lastly, the next time you stop by and decide to try out one of their Po Boys, make sure to get a Po Boy stamp card. You'll likely want to come back for more and might as well get the 10th one free! Highly recommended!

We got the shrimp gumbo and that was ehhh 3/5, but the shrimp spaghetti was 5/5 the best thing I've ate there and the flavor is amazing ! It's a small place, but feels very homie, and the workers or owners were extremely nice. The pasta is one of the favorite dishes on the menu and I'm glad we ate it. We didn't wait long for them to deliver the food to our table. What it saves on aesthetics it makes up for in flavor. We got the fried gator and fried green tomatoes to start. The tomatoes were good and cooked nicely served with ranch and the gator was delicious and served with a great sauce. They both needed a little salt for my taste but we would get them both again. Next we got the garlic spaghetti. It doesn't look like much but it was my 2nd favorite thing. Al-dente spaghetti with a sauce that is savory, sweet and spicy all at once. I feel like it was garlic, parmesan, Cajun and hot honey mixed. Just a guess. I would definitely get it again. My husband got the oyster po boy. He added the "Cajun style" for $1 and it was well worth it. The Cajun style is seasoning and grilled pepper. This thing was dynamite. My favorite bite of the day for sure. The sauce with the veggies and perfectly crispy and tender oysters on that bread. It was a 10/10 for sure. I regretted not ordering my own. My son got a roast beef po boy. It was like roasted beef in broth not what he was expecting. It was ok but with the other choices we would not have it again. The fries were good. I got the chicken tenders with hot honey. The tenders are good. They are juicy and fresh. I didn't love the hot honey because it was not hot or sweet enough for me but that was a choice. I would order them again just without the sauce. Overall I left wanting to go back and try other things which is a win in my book. They lost 1 star because the apps are served without any plates to eat off of and most things needed salt. But that's just being picky. It's a solid choice.

Our waitress was pleasant and prompt throughout our dinner. On our first visit my co-diner ordered the fried scallops, and thought they were very tasty. So, on this visit we ordered: * 2 - Fried Scallop Baskets (one with regular fries, the other with sweet potato fries) * Chicken Wings Side with BBQ Sauce Our order arrived quite quickly, and I immediately sampled a sweet potato fry. Tasty! Hot, crispy, and nicely cooked. The same could be said for the regular fries. It's unfortunate so many restaurants are French fried challenged, with fries that are served too cool and limp. Kudos to Juicy Seafood for great fries. The scallops were also tasty, with or without the bread crumbs (which come off very easily). They were fresh tasting, very hot and very juicy. However, the chicken wings were not good, they were overcooked, overloaded with sauce and difficult to eat. I wouldn't recommend those. Overall, we were happy with our dinner and would be delighted to return.

I lived 7 1/2 years in Louisiana and even worked for 2 1/2 years at the legendary Ralph & Kacoo's, so I have been searching for years for Cajun food as good as I enjoyed back then. I have eaten at every so called Cajun Restaurant in NH, ME, MA, and RI. North of NOLA and Big Mamou in Springfield MA are the only two that could be served in Louisiana . I started if with an Abita Purple Haze (beer). I was worried it might be a little stale, but it was fresh and tasty. My wife had a hard Southern Peach Tea. It was delicious as well. On to the food: We started with a bowl of seafood gumbo. It was very thick, not watery, and had lots of shrimp, crab, crawfish, and okra. 10 of 10 and the hit of the night. I will return just for the gumbo. My wife got the Zydeco Pasta for her meal. Not too spicy and full of flavor. Maybe a tad to much andouille, but 7 of 10. I got the Crawfish Etouffe. A little mild for my taste but delicious. 8 of 10. We also got a Blackened Fish Bites appetizer with our meals. I wish it was catfish, but they used Haddock. It was perfectly spiced and delicious. 8 of 10. Would be 10 of 10 if they used wild caught catfish. For dessert we got Beignets and coffee. The beignets were dreamy. 9 of 10. All in all it was an amazing experience and we will make the drive again soon.

Inside is designed with bunch of boards with drawings and comments from previous customers. Place was somewhat busy with most seats filled when we got there. We were seated right away and given menu to order. We ordered some seafood boil to share. We got 2lb shrimp, 1lb snow crab, 1lb clam and side of cajun rice and garlic noodle. Food came out within few minutes. Garlic noodle and cajun were decent. The cajun rice was kind of stuck together and not mixed well. Would have liked more ingredients and flavor they used for seafood boil. Seafood boil was pretty good. We got one bug bag with just cajun sauce and 1 shrimp with house sauce. They put a lot more spice on larger bag so they had a lot kore flavor where smaller bag din't have too much flavor and was watered down. Even so overall the seafood was good. Little bit of de shelling and messy but thats usually the case for seafood boil. I like to mix some of the seafood juice onto garlic noodle/cajun rice to add more flavors. Service was good and waitress was very attentive. The place was very cold as it was cold outside and probably not well insulated. It ended up cooling our food while we were rating which was a bummer. Overall it's a solid cajun seafood boil place. But nothing really stood out compared to others that I had. I would recommend if you are around the area and craving for cajun seafood boil but there are better places out there.
