Food was absolutely delicious! We ordered the Lechon Kawali Kraze, Sausage Fusion Silog, and dressed lumpia. The lechon kawali and lumpia were perfectly crispy, and the Java rice was very flavorful. The mac salad was also really good! The staff was very friendly and provided great customer service. The ambiance was welcoming, and the outdoor seating was perfect with the beautiful weather. Checked out Captain Adobo for their Filipino Street Pop-Up, that had some other local food and beverage vendors. Saw that Captain Adobo had the longest line, so I figured they must be really good. WRONG! I ordered their Adobo Spicy Chicken Wings meal, which comes with 6 wings, 2 pork lumpia, Java rice, macaroni salad, and a slice of cucumber. For one, after I placed my order, I was told it would be a 15 minute wait. I nearly waited almost half an hour for my food. On top of that, my two friends who ordered way after I did, they got their food 5-10 minutes before me! If I could make any suggestions, they should have one person strictly taking the orders and one person strictly handing out the orders. I felt as though the food was just sitting waiting to be handed out, because the girl taking orders couldn't handle doing both jobs. The pictures on here posted by the owner is not what you get in person. I didn't even bother taking pictures of when I opened my box of food, because it didn't even look appetizing. The adobo wings were red and had a punch of flakes on it that looked like garlic. Didn't taste adobo, didn't taste any spice, NOTHING. Had no taste. The Java rice had no flavor either, just color added. And nearly half the box was full of rice, I'd say about 3 servings of rice! Who needs that much rice? The pork lumpia tasted like the frozen lumpia you can buy from Costco. And the macaroni salad, you tasted nothing but mayo. Could've added some salt and pepper or some apple cider vinegar instead of just topping it with furikake. I literally had to force myself to try to eat the food, just because I waited so damn long and paid $16 for it. I would've been better off walking next door to the new Banh mi place. Very disappointed and will not be coming back. read more

The lumpia is top notch, it's a food tuck tucked back with a second food truck we were created right away and encouraged to ask questions. Prices were fair and there is one table available for out door seating. There is a chef's special so i encourage asking about that. First time here would definitely visit again. read more

I will be back to try the other items. The location is a hole in a wall (parking lot). It's hard to see from the street because it's behind a gas station. Once you get back there, you'll find Captain Adobo and another truck that has Thai food. The Captain Adobo truck needs brighter signage. It was hard to tell if they were open. It's a crap shoot. 1/2 the time they don't have what's on the menu. Daily Specials are the only thing I would get. Service is quicker than many food trucks but the adobo was VERY STRINGY. I ordered $50 in food and got a lifetime supply of rice, a very small amount of Mac salad. 2 pieces of lumpia that was cold and soggy. Not sur if the food is better on certain days but now I'm going back to Paradiso or Maresol. Ambiance is food truck style in a parking lot with random homeless walking around. Update: I'm from PI, Born in Quezon City. Relative of x-President of Filipino Women's club, Fil-Am club and Ilocano club. I recommend you offer your menu in full when listed and IF you don't have a menu item you should Cover it up. People lie numbers don't. This is a typical food truck set, convenient location, and clean area. Service was good, nice guy who I think is the owner. I ordered the dressed lumpia and the adobe wings. The lumpia was good typical flavor and the dressing giving them a little something different. The wing were surprisingly underwhelming no flavor at all they tasted store bought and had a weird texture. I have been following this food truck on Instagram since they first opened and have been meaning to try them but due to my boyfriend's schedule, it was hard as they are closed on Sundays. However, he recently got a job that lets him be free on Saturdays now and we were getting a dog groomed in Lakewood so I told him that we are stopping by Captain Adobo. Our friends wanted to tag along as they also needed to get their dog groomed so we dropped off our fur babies then headed straight on over to Captain Adobo's location. As we approached the truck, we were greeted by the cashier and even the chef who were both very friendly and polite. One of the things I love about food trucks is that they have a small menu which means you can tell that quality is key to them. We ended up ordering the lechon kawali silog and I forgot to take a picture of it but let me tell you the portion size of all that you get is absolutely huge. The mac salad was divine, the jollof rice was perfect, two pieces of absolutely fantastic lumpia and the lechon kawali was the best I've ever had in Washington! The food was so good that my boyfriend (who is Filipino) said he was going to go order more for our dinner and I was SO on board with that! We got the daily special which was palabok and the chef said he would load it up with lechon kawali and we got the sausage fusion silog. As we got the food, the hunger was hard to resist cause the food was smelling so good that it was so tempting to open it up and get a taste. Our friends enjoyed their order too and were even thinking of grabbing more for dinner but they had leftovers to finish. I'm looking forward to enjoying our dinner later and definitely want to come back to try more of their menu. They really serve up some absolute fire Filipino food and I love that they have jalapeños on their dressed lumpia and spicy chicken adobo wings cause I love spicy foods and I don't typically see that at Filipino restaurants. read more

A Filipino Food Truck!! Friendly service with a smile. Has many items labeled as a "silog" Which in the Philippines means that it is served with rice and egg. I ordered the Lechon Kawali silog. The description states it is Lechon, rice and macaroni salad . They do not say there is an egg and there is not. Wasn't expecting one by the description.. There is also some salad and lumpia on my very generously portioned platter. Fresh tasting mac salad and a savory adobo rice. The lechon was crispy and the vinegar sauce cut the fatty deliciousness perfectly. I was also offered a generous sample of the daily special Binagoogan Baboy. So good! Stopped by for the first time today at 5:20, a customer was finishing up their order, I was next. After their order, a woman in the truck, stood at the window with her back to the outside. She looked out at me, then stepped away. I saw a man a couple of times, maybe he was the owner? Didn't make eye contact or say anything. No one acknowledged me for 10 minutes until another woman stepped off the truck. I asked if I could order, she took my order, but she walked to the next food truck. Somehow I didn't believe she took my order. In addition to all of this lack of customer service, 3 other women were chatting away in the front area, looked like they were FaceTiming. Once in awhile the man would chime in. There were more people in the truck than customers. Ten minutes later, 20 minutes since I first arrived, I managed to get the woman's attention. The one who took my order outside the truck. I asked her how much longer, she said 20 more minutes. There were 2 other customers waiting, the one before me, and a couple that was already waiting when I first arrived. There was no way I was going to wait longer, I was already there for 20 minutes. I said never mind, and just walked away. I made a beeline for another Filipino establishment, Paraiso Native, on South Tacoma Way. Don't let the photos fool you, it looks hella bomb! But there is like zero flavor. The Mac salad is mostly mayo, the adobo tastes so bland. Even the rice has no seasoning, like they used food coloring or anything but spice. (Sorry) they top the food with a lot of topping like crispy garlic maybe? Mayo and Furikaki. Note: i did drive by it the first time, its back tucked away behind the gas station. First off, the service was amazing! I came at the very end of the day because I thought they were open until 7pm. Not 6pm. And I made a big order but the owner was still super happy to serve me! They were out of a few items and he substituted special items for me and even threw in a free order of lumpia! The loco moco was top tier! Probably one of the best I've had! And I ordered a total of 8 boxes of food, fed 4 adults, and still had 5 boxes of food left over, so the value for the price is definitely there. Unprofessional, Dishonest, and Unbelievably Irresponsible We ordered lechon from this company for a special occasion, and they somehow managed to deliver it to the wrong party entirely. Instead of immediately taking responsibility, they had the nerve to tell me to go after the other group--complete strangers--and "ask them to pay me back." Let that sink in: I paid them, they delivered to someone else, and they expected me to fix their mistake. It took endless messages and frustration before they even considered processing a refund. And when they finally did, it wasn't because they cared--it was because I refused to let them get away with it. This was supposed to be a memorable celebration, but instead it turned into a complete letdown because this company fell through when it mattered most. It's incredibly disappointing to see such carelessness and lack of accountability, especially for something meant to bring people together. This business cannot be trusted--they have no integrity, no responsibility, and no respect for their customers. If you value your time, money, and peace of mind, stay far away. My family recently hosted a first birthday party for my daughter and ordered lechon from Captain Adobo in Lakewood. We paid a delivery fee for the food to be brought directly to our event. Unfortunately, the delivery was mishandled and given to the wrong party, causing confusion and conflict during a very important family occasion. The catering company, Captain Adobo, had no clear delivery verification process in place. The delivery personnel relied solely on recognizing someone at the venue rather than confirming order details or the identity of the person who paid. As a result, the lechon we paid for was delivered to a neighboring party that falsely claimed it was theirs, stating they "knew the delivery person" and that it had been "donated" to them. To make matters worse, when the error was identified, Captain Adobo staff asked us to go next door and confront the other party to "pay" for the lechon that was mistakenly delivered to them since they had already devoured the whole thing. (Why would this be our responsibility?) This put us in an extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional position, and escalated tensions unnecessarily. Our family had to deal with emotional distress and damages due to someone else's mistake -- all during a milestone celebration for our daughter. This situation was not only stressful but entirely preventable. The lack of a professional delivery protocol--such as verifying the recipient's name, phone number, or requiring a signature--led directly to the confusion. Captain Adobo's request that we intervene with the other party added to the emotional burden and crossed professional boundaries. It is not the customer's responsibility to resolve delivery mistakes made by the vendor or their staff. Although we were eventually refunded the money, it took multiple phone calls and conversations to get to that point -- and the way those interactions were handled left much to be desired. I felt the situation could have been approached with more professionalism, urgency, and accountability from the beginning. I urge Captain Adobo to immediately implement a proper delivery verification process. This could include: -Confirming the name and phone number of the recipient at delivery. -Requiring ID or an order confirmation before handing over food. -Training staff not to rely on personal relationships or familiarity during delivery. -Having a clear protocol for resolving delivery disputes internally, rather than placing the burden on the customer. While I am not sharing this to blame individuals, I believe it's important for others to be aware and for the business to reflect on how this mistake affected my family. My hope is that changes are made to prevent any future customers from going through what we experienced. What a wonderful find. We originally went to this area to find the Laos food truck but was so happy to see captain adobo too there. Have heard so many good things and was excited to finally try it out, and man the food didn't disappoint. It was all so good a flavorful, it's been hard to find really good Filipino food that still stays true to the flavors that me and my boyfriend were used to growing up and this hit the spot. I've been wanting to try this spot for a long time but living in Seattle made it a bit of a drive. I finally decided to go and I'm so glad I did. The portions are generous, the food is delicious, and you can truly tell it's cooked with love just like homestyle Filipino cooking. Food was eh. Went to their food truck and barely any customers. There was also a time where I went to their taglish store in auburn - walked in never got a greeting. Everyone was too busy chatting with their coworkers to even acknowledge someone was there and when they did see me they just side eyed me. Like what?! Customer service is really bad and honestly reading these other reviews, there's no hope for improvement. The owner seems mayabang with the way he respond to other people. If you own a business understand that people will criticize you and take that as a lesson not an attack against you or your business. From what I've seen mostly friends and family are the ones supporting this business, which would explain why his business still run. read more
