Garlic and fish sauce wings with ube waffles
    Janet Y.

The food was so delicious! From the Lechon plate, burrito, ube waffles with garlic fish sauce wings- everything was so flavorful. Even my picky 9-year old enjoyed the food. The ube horchata was also so yummy. Loved the creativity of each dish on the menu. Service was also excellent. My only callout is that ambience feels very casual though food is upscale (our meal for 3 with tip was just under $100). It's great if you have kids but if you're looking for a fancy setting- just wanted you to know what to expect!

    Halo halo

Unfortunately while they have some filipino dishes, but unfortunately whole tasted decent, they are not authentic. We got sisig (with pork belly), savory and edible, but it's not crunchy. The portion is fairly small as well As for halo-halo, it tasted bland for a dessert. Shaved ice is very rough almost like crushed ice instead of shaved ice. The jellies etc toppings are too little. The only thing carrying the entire dessert is the taste of ube ice cream on top.

Had to try this place and thoroughly enjoyed it. We are Filipino so can be highly critical and skeptical. But, this was so good! It is located in McKinley area and have limited food options but this is a cool spot. Paying homage to their Filipino culture, they have art work and show the Philippines on the tv screens. And the music playlist is all my old school jams which I really enjoyed. The food was soooo good! Had the longanisa, lumpia, chicken adobo and ube drink. Wow o wow wow yumminess. Def try all the dishes. You won't regret it. The people are nice and always get seated fairly fast. Feel that the service is on point! Def will go again. Must try!!!

Stopped in for lunch on a Sunday and the place was pretty full, always a good sign. The atmosphere felt warm and homey, like a true Filipino spot. We started with the lumpia, which were super fresh and had a perfect meat to wrapper ratio; crispy, flavorful, and not greasy at all. The longganisa was really good. Sweet, savory, and well caramelized. Reminds me of home! And the garlic rice was absolute fire' The tapa was a bit dry and could use just a bit more marinade, maybe a touch more garlic or vinegar to really make it pop. Overall, it's a solid spot if you're craving Filipino comfort food done right. Great food, great energy, and definitely worth a visit! Will be taking my mom here to try the palabok and lechon!

As a Filipina, it was a must to try this place out! My husband and I loved the food, staff, and ambiance here. For food, we ordered the longanisa which came with eggs (can be scrambled or sunny side up) and fried rice. Fried rice was a bit too salty vs garlic. We also ordered the palabok (can be crunchy noodles or soft noodles). Palabok sauce came separately and tasted great. Lechon was juicy and crunchy. Noodles melted perfectly and werent soggy with the sauce. For drinks, we ordered the calamansi iced tea and ube horchata. The ube horchata was too sweet while the calamansi iced tea was just right. Not too sour, not too sweet, and not too bitter. Place was small, but was able to house enough people as people only spent about an hour or two if they had a family. On a Sunday it was busy. Overall, I definitely recommend! Small, delicious, and ambiant Filipino restaurant that will satisfy your cravings.

I'm always looking for good lechon, and I think I found one here. Highly recommend the Lechon Belly $23, which comes with lechon, sunny side egg and adobo rice. The skin is so crunchy, almost too crunch when it's hot. Believe it or not, the skin remained crunchy when I had it cold later that day. The homemade sauce is so good, tasted fresh, not overly salty and binds all the components together. Service is stellar. The young waiter is very friendly with recommendation. I forgot to take my calansi iced tea (very refreshing!) when I left, and found it was already taken away when I came back to grab it a couple minutes later (fast clean up lol). He offered to make me another one without me asking. Thanks dude! Overall, I had a great first experience here. The inside is clean and bright, with fun wall decor. I came for lunch during the week so it wasn't too busy, but was told it gets crazy busy on the weekend, especially Sundays.

Amazing food! Potatoes are so crispy and perfectly made. Pork tocino was perfectly seasoned. Chef's kiss! I'll def be back. Service was quick and everyone was so friendly.

The restaurant is located in a quaint neighborhood near other businesses. The interior is a very homey vibe with Filipino touches with the interior decor. I came to visit Lechon Loco for a Yelp Elite event a few weeks ago. I received a complementary calamansi tea and lumpia. The lumpia served here is the closest thing to how my late mother made it and it just soothes my heart a little. The calamansi tea was a refreshing take on ice tea. The business had a few customers on a weekday evening. The server was friendly and attentive. I was a big fan of the salmon, but it was a little overcooked for preference. The sauce and the veggies with the salmon with rice were such delightful bites. The pollo ala parilla was great too. My husband had a preference for this one. I loved the sauce for this dish. My husband's critique was he wished the garlic rice had more of a garlic taste. The portions sizes were generous and we had enough for leftovers for the following day. I would definitely recommend this place! I'm excited to bring my Filipino father to try out this restaurant in the near future. Funny enough, he heard about it recently and told me he wanted to try it. I can't wait to try the other items like the crispy palabok.

My review is solely based on a takeout order and includes only the appetizer - Lumpia and the Calamansi iced tea. Since this is a Filipino restaurant, I appreciated how the vibe and presentation aligned well with the cuisine Now, onto the food I believe this is the best lumpia I've had so far. The flavor of the pork and the overall balance of ingredients were absolutely perfect I honestly couldn't believe I was eating pork, it was that good. The Calamansi iced tea was also a highlight. It wasn't overly sweet, which I really appreciated. It had just the right amount of sweetness and was very refreshing. Overall, both the lumpia and the tea were delightful. I'm definitely looking forward to coming back for a full dine-in experience and trying more from the menu. The staff is super friendly, patient and helpful

    Lumpia Smash Burger

I had gone here over the summer for an event and it was tasty so I've been wanting to come back (that ube waffle left a mark on my heart ). I think some people are expecting authentic Filipino food and forget it's a Latin-Filipino fusion. I digress...I met with some friends for dinner and I ordered the Lumpia Smash Burger. I personally wouldn't get it again, it wasn't really a smash burger to me... there were 2 patties and one seemed just like a frozen burger patty and the other was a thick meat shape... not a patty but not a meatball. I didn't taste any chipotle either... My friend got the Pandan Fried Chicken and I tried a piece of his chicken. You ever get food envy? Because that's where I was. Everyone at the table loved what he got. No one went hope hungry and our server was so friendly and patient with us trying to decide what we wanted. We definitely think overall this place is a winner and would go back.

Great job Lechon Loco! Y'all have brought an easy and accessible taste of the Philippines, to Tacoma, that everyone can enjoy! Wonderfully friendly and attentive staff, that has made everyone, during this busy day, happy! I had a little bit of everything - Lumpia, Palabok and their Bibinka Cake + Ube Ice Cream, with an Ube Horchata! I hope you check them out! Salamat!

    Pasta Con Camarones "Palabok Style"

So good! Thank you Yelp & Lechon Loco for being able to try this gem of a restaurant. The Calamansi Tea was tangy and delicious. The lumpia were hot, super crispy, meat was well seasoned. I ordered the Ube Iced Coffee was creamy, not too sweet and smooth. In addition I also ordered the Pork Bagnet Chicharon and the Pasta Con Camarones "Palabok Style". The Chicharon were crispy , but the pork melted in my mouth. The guava chili jam was sweet and tangy. I didn't get a lot of chili heat, but it was still really good. My absolute favorite was the Palabok! My friend used to make it from scratch for me every year for my birthday, this is THAT good. The sauce is a rich shrimp flavor. I got it with the soft noodles, but they also come crispy fried which is also so good! Amazing experience, I'll definitely be back soon!

Lechon Loco - A Cozy Hidden Gem in Tacoma Lechon Loco is a cute little spot in Tacoma that radiates a warm, small mom-and-pop store vibe. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with kindness and a genuine sense of local flavor. The atmosphere was friendly, cozy, and family-friendly--exactly the kind of place that makes you want to come back. We tried the calamansi iced tea and the lumpia, and both were delicious. The lumpia was fried to crispy perfection on the outside, with soft, juicy meat on the inside. It paired beautifully with the bright, tart notes of the calamansi iced tea. The flavors complemented each other really well and made for a light but satisfying meal. We were there around 4 or 5 PM on a Sunday, and even though it was starting to get busy, the service was wonderful. Each server was attentive and made sure everyone felt taken care of. There was also plenty of parking, which made the visit even smoother. I'm so glad we found this Filipino-Latino fusion spot in Tacoma--it's not too common to see this kind of offering in the South Sound, and it's absolutely worth a visit if you're in the area!

They dont have an outdoor patio, and its a smaller indoor place, so I doubt it unless its a service animal, but Im not certain.

Ever since my boyfriend and I moved from NYC to Seattle, one of the things we've been yearning to…read moreencounter is hearty Colombian(him)/Ecuadorian(me) food. New York was crawling in delicious Southern American food. So we decided to go on an adventure to Tacoma and visit this establishment, and I'm so glad we did. Upon walking in, the space is decorated in Colombian flags, license plates, banners, and other miscellaneous decor. The tropicana radio station playing in the back made us feel like we were back in Manizales for a brief moment. We were greeted with kindness and curiosity as we exchanged cultural backgrounds. Foods that we ate: - Pandebono (Plain, with no guyaba): One of the many famous breads Colombia has to offer, the flavor was spot on. Savory and cheesy with a nice chew. It was more airy than I was anticipating, so a lot of empty pockets while eating it (it's usually denser), but still delicious nonetheless. If you like a sweet surprise, would recommend getting the pandebono with guyaba inside. - Buñuelo: Another great cheese bread in the shape of a sphere and fried. The inside was super soft and airy as well which is more on brand for this! Although not typically crunchy or hard, the shell did lack a bit of toughness that's normally expected. Again, did not take away from the enjoyable experience otherwise. - Bandeja Paísa: Nearly perfect, we were both so stunned. The chorizo and chicharron were AMAZING. The chicharron had the perfect amount of meat, more crunchy than chewy which is what we preferred. I don't know what blend the chorizo is made out of, but it was packed with flavor. The steak was a little tough but still delicious. Avocado, fried egg, the arepa, all complemented the dish well. I personally don't like maduros, but the one in this dish was not too sweet at all, delicious. The frijoles were also packed with flavor, giving the rice a wonderful flavor to soak up. We definitely need to come back and have their churrasco for sure. If you're Colombian in the Seattle area or are looking to try Colombian food for the first time, this is a must visit!!!

The ambiance was vibrant with tasteful cultural music which I truly could not get enough of. The restaurant was clean, including the bathrooms and what you can see of the kitchen. Now for the food; I was not overly impressed. They seem to be popular for their empanadas but from my experience they were bland, cooked from frozen, and lacked that the booming flavor I was expecting for an authentic Colombian restaurant. Some of the entrees they make looked good but there were a few of those I wouldn't recommend either. I likely won't return but I'm excited I had the opportunity to see what they were about.

So, I parked - I found a street parking around the corner. It's a small establishment with an ADA bathroom. You can go and order with the staff, or you can order with a kiosk. I happened to do both! I asked the server who told me later that he was the cousin of the owner and el Salvadoran, what he would recommend. I ended up getting Combo 2 which is two tacos and a pupusa (which I've never had). Both I got pork and pupusa he said to get pork and cheese. I liked it ALL. Although the puousa is made of corn and tasty, I prob wouldnt order it again. I really, really liked the two tacos. The seasoning and taste was delicious!!! I am craving it right now as I am writing this review. They gave me condiments - 3 different hot sauces which I liked the avocado one which was a great creamy sauce. And there 3 pieces of lime and cut radishes. Plus, there were pickled onions which was tasty! I asked a lot of questions because I wanted to eat them all the way he would so The server told me to put the pickled onions on the pupusa. Oh, that made a huge difference. So delicious!!! Next time, I am just going to get 4 tacos - yep 4! lol and may try a burrito just to see how that is. I ended up getting a Jarrisco with Tamarind flavor. Oh it was a sweet and perfect complimentary drink. I will def be back! Really enjoyed it.

I first tried this place shortly after moving to Lakewood about 8 months ago and decided to give it one more chance with a different meal. That was a huge mistake. From my experience, the entire place felt unsanitary. Drinks were stored in room-temperature plastic bins with exposed ice and no lids, which immediately raised concerns for me. After I got sick, I noticed their food safety rating posted in a spot that's easy to miss--something I wish I had seen sooner. I've now been sick for over 13 hours with chills, cold sweats, nonstop vomiting, and constant trips to the bathroom. On top of that, the food wasn't even good--bland, poorly seasoned, and nothing like authentic Mexican food. I've eaten at plenty of places with "okay" health ratings and never experienced anything like this. This was by far the dirtiest-feeling restaurant I've been to, and the illness afterward was severe. If you're considering eating here, don't. There's a Taco Bell across the street that's cleaner and honestly tastes better--which is a shame to Mexican cuisine. Save yourself the disappointment and the sickness.
