Charming restaurant off i35 is decorated like a boat. One of the few restaurants in Austin to still serve flounder, which is my favorite fish. Most things seem to be overcooked and oversalted, but nothing was so terrible that we sent it back or anything. Our waitress was very nice. Leftovers the next day made a good cold breakfast.

Outstanding crawfish! Huge oysters on the half shell. Great job, Bernardo! I really enjoyed this Austin relic. So many have closed. Wishing y'all 20 more years of success.

We have a split decision on Captain Benny's. My Combo Basket, with 4 fried shrimp and 2 pieces of fried fish (along with fries, hush puppies, and garlic toast) was reasonably good. Not exquisite, but about what I'd expect at a mid-range inland seafood joint. My companion didn't fare as well. He ordered a dinner that included scallops and stuffed crab, with fries, hush puppies, and Cole slaw. He picked at it for a while then complained that the scallops were weird and rubbery, that the stuffed crab didn't taste like there was any crab in it. "None of it tastes good." "So, send it back!" A server noticed that something was off, and was very nice about taking it away and offering a substitute. He's a picky eater and his appetite was gone by then, so he declined, and they removed it from the check. We've eaten here before and had pretty good experiences, so hopefully this was an aberration.

Loved this spot. It was great! Everything about it. The food, the service, the beer! :) Had our family dinner here the day before my brother passed away and the server was so patient with us and he was so kind and so helpful. He offered prayers even tho we knew my brother wouldn't make it thru the weekend. He was so kind. The hostess was pretty sweet. She sat us quickly and didn't mind that we chose to sit outside instead after already being sat inside. We were just not in a position to be in the light around other guests due to emotions. So they handled that great without even knowing it. Everyone ordered something different and unique and it all came out exactly right. Fresh and delicious. Thank you Captain Bennys!!

The greeting was horrible and the waitress! I sat a the table over 5 minutes until the cashier said have you been served and I replied NO! Then another waitress said that's Marie section! So the cashier took my order. I just drove over 3 hours to your city and chose your restaurant to dine in and it wasn't pleasurable at all! However; your food was good and hot!

Back at Captain Benny's second day in a row. Had the Jalapeño Boudin very good flavor little heat. Had the Stuffed Catfish Fillet with a Stuffed Crab and three fried Oysters. Overall food is good. Prices are reasonable.

I was in town staying at the hotel next-door and decided to stop by here to get some food. More than half of the crab claws had hardly any meat on them. It was basically fried cornmeal. Not only that it was slightly over fried. The rice was OK... Nothing stood out. I placed the order at the front hostess stand and took it to go. It would have been nice to include some utensils and napkins.

Always consistently great food and price. Love the large Gulf oysters... Fastest oyster shuckers in Austin

Swai - they do not serve real catfish. Not fresh and grease was not fresh either. Did not eat.

They sell swai - not real catfish. The food is not fresh. The fries tasted like old grease -- very inedible. The stuffed crab was a mix of terrible mush mixed with random pieces of seafood. They must be paying for these reviews, because SOMEONE is lying! SMH I left here and spent another $25 for food I could actually eat!

My friend and I ordered several different items on the menu to try out, we got the etouffee, red beans and rice, and a mushroom salad. My favorite out of those items was the mushroom salad with vinagarette dressing, who doesn't love mushrooms and some greens! The etouffee was rich and savory with what i believe was their rotating protein of the week. Can't really go wrong with red beans and rice, these are like an upgraded popeyes version. To end the meal we tried their beignets which weren't stellar but reminded me more of a fried donut with some powdered sugar sprinkled on top. I'd come back but maybe not get so much food since we both definitely left stuffed!

You can really taste the love that went into all this food. This is a food truck right across from HEB mueller in that swimming pool parking lot. She's only open on the weekends and her food can be ordered on DoorDash but she has more menu items in person than on DoorDash. I online ordered and picked up 3 different orders. 2 of them were not ready and she had me wait in my car and she brought them out to me so I didn't melt in the heat. Now the important stuff the menu... Ok who knew you could fry ribs?!?! They were on point. 4 to an order. Ribs were still moist, the batter had a crunch, and the meat fell off the bone. The dirty rice was the best dirty rice I've ever eaten. It was loaded up with seafood The smothered pork chops were 2 to an order and 2 sides served on a bed of white rice. Also very moist and great flavor, the Mac n cheese was not runny which I personally hate when it's just a runny mess, the fried cabbage also had a great flavor and it was still crunchy. The jerk chicken had great flavor but it was ordered as mild (not by me) and it definitely needed the heat/spice,the jumbalaya side was also tasty We also got the hot Cheetos boudin balls (I forgot to take a picture) they were huge and not spicy at first bite the heat sneaks up on you. The strawberry crunch cake was a big slice and reminded me of strawberry cake doughnut but that banana pudding was also probably the best banana pudding I've ever eaten. I felt all the portions were huge and prices were fair. This definitely not a food truck to sleep on. I've been told she makes great oxtails but they sell out fast.

Rosé Gosé (note accents) is in an unassuming Airport Blvd location (right next to Jewboy Burgers, an Austin favorite). It is run by a couple from Belarus that came here right after Covid to open up a restaurant, with a sister in Minsk. Defying expectations, the menu is not Balkan at all. If anything, there is a strong Asian influence with poke bowls and a lot of seafood. But the menu also offers beef tartare on their raw bar menu, as well as a steak offering and grilled chicken. It's a diverse and adventurous menu, all the way from small plates to hefty mains and vegetable sides. For the dessert, try the pavlova, a meringue confection stuffed with coconut mousse and topped with lime sorbet and a grapefruit slice sidecar. Everything is superbly presented, and unquestionably fresh and healthy without veering into twigs and berries territory. The cocktail menu is also playful, with a lot of nontraditional glassware and slight spins on popular drinks; their version of a Paloma uses prosecco instead of a splash of soda. The servers are all dressed in rosé jumpsuits and very attentive. The space is amiable and elegant without being pretentious. The table spacing is a little close, so that conversations carry between guests. The table setting has some nice touches, like the little wooden bench that holds your fork and knife off the table. In European fashion, water can be asked for but it won't be served with ice. Plan on taking your time and enjoying course after course.

Rosé Gosé was a delightful Mother's Day lunch spot. It is a whole vibe, and it is uniquely French! When we walked in an artist was playing romantic music on his keyboard, which set the tone for the brunch. It is a small restaurant inside with a larger area of seating on the patio. Of course, our reservations were inside in the comforts of air conditioning. You immediately notice a wine wall hence the name Rosé Gosé. The restaurant has many windows which provide lots of natural light. The tables house miniature yellow roses and utensils sat in a small wooden block...very French. All the servers were dressed in mauve clothing that resemble scrubs from a hospital. If someone stepped out in a French beret, I would have fallen over. Our server, Sergey, immediately served us water and took our order. The restaurant was highlighted as a modern European bistro. The atmosphere was charming, elegant, and stylish making it ideal for a Mother's Day brunch. My hubby ordered a ribeye, eggs and French Fries. I ordered the avocado toast with salmon and egg whites. While I'm not a huge red meat eater, I tasted a piece of the hubs ribeye and it was nicely prepared. My avocado toast was yummy to the nth degree! Everything was perfect. The avocado was precisely cut and at the right level of softness. The salmon was chopped into tiny little squares and so enjoyable to eat. We could not be more pleased. With a name like Rosé Gosé you would expect their drinks to be superb. My hubby ordered a hibiscus tea, which was delightful. I ordered a mimosa that had high quality ingredients and was perfectly balanced...so smooth. We were also pleased with the drinks. This was the first time at Rosé Gosé, however, it definitely will not be the last.
