    lunch shrimp
    Kim H.

located in the arbor food truck park on E. 12th street. Tucked away in the back left corner. I did order my meal through doordash because I was on my lunch break near by and needed it to be ready within a timely manner to get back to work. Door dash has way more options available (like fried fish and shrimp) than what is on their food truck menu on the window. I ordered multiple things to try them with my coworkers after I placed the order, I was quickly refunded the for the fried items and I ended up ordering food at another food truck. The meal is buttery and heavy on the garlic. shrimp was cooked perfectly and the potatoes were marinating in that garlic butter sauce but the best thing was the sausage.

I have been wanting to try this place for a while. I finally got my chance! Everything was really good and they give you a good portion for the price. I got the Cajun seasoning. It was flavorful. The snow crab legs were a good size. The be sausage was really good. This is a place I would come back to again. The service was good.

The food was level 5. The staff was friendly and quick. I wish they had some lights or a menu outside to let people know they are open. I thought they were closed until I saw some customers walk up to the window. Don't miss out. This place serves up some fire food.

I've tried all the food trucks in the Arbor Food trailer park at this point, except for this spot. It's a little more unassuming without any big signage and tucked in the corner, but didn't escape my food critic grasp. I wasn't too hungry this day, so I opted for the smaller shrimp platter. Pretty decent value for a seafood boil, I think. The potatoes were soft (I like that they were chopped so they soaked the sauce better), it came with a hardboiled egg, the corn was very flavorful, and there were quite a few shrimp tails. I would've liked it if the sausage were also sliced, but it was flavorful enough. Overall, pretty tasty, my only critique is that wish there were more vegetables or at least veggie options. This is the same for most seafood boils - onions, peppers, mushrooms, any of these things would be nice for contrast. And some rice would also be nice to go with the sauce.

We tried Krab Kingz food truck. I was a little hesitant, I didn't know if a seafood boil would come out good from a truck but Krab Kingz proved me wrong!! We ordered the Krab + shrimp platter - 2 crab clusters, 10 shrimp, sausage, corn, egg and potatoes. We ordered an extra cluster and additional shrimp. Everything was juicy, and the sauce hit the spot! Would recommend to family & friends if they're ever in Austin.

Came to the 12th street location for lunch and I loved it!! Their customer service was great, the guy I placed my order with let me order off the lunch menu even though I'm pretty sure I was a little late timing wise. He also made sure to bring my order to me when it was ready!! I got the Krab platter with the spicy seasoning and it was soooo delicious!!!

AVOID this food truck at all cost. If you have to, CHECK THE FOOD before you leave. Would give Zero stars if I can. Irresponsible owner/staff left out important ingredient and DOORDASH WON'T REFUND the lost value. And the food is even more of a disappointment. I bought the Seaside platter of $67 plus tax that's $70. LARGEST and PRICIEST in the menu. (You can get way better food for better value at HappyRito) It's supposed to have 3 crab clusters but when I got home, the only seafood I found is the 18 shrimps (not fresh at all), with other sides. Now I know he kind of left out the crabs on purpose, because it was approaching their close time and I was the last customer. I don't think they would "forget" the most important ingredient as that's the largest pack of all items on menu. I issued a refund from DD, and they were only able to refund $27, which means I had to pay $43 for only 18 small pieces of shrimps and all other sides. On their menu they have a platter that has the same foods for only $26. Therefore I told DD that it doesn't match the value I lost. I demanded to speak with a manager and now I'm waiting for their call. Most likely they won't budge. Just do yourself a favor and DON'T buy from this place! There are better choices out there. I haven't been such an angry customer for a very long time!

Go for the food, temper your expectations for wait time. Not Franklin's wait time by a long shot, but you still want to block out some time for this. Perfect for a midweek day off. The food is worth it. Great flavors, great prep/presentation, and for how busy they get - the staff is friendly. Again, temper your expectations and expect them to reciprocate the energy you give them. They also wish you didn't have to wait 40 minutes, but they're not just standing around - they're working to get to you. If you come here for food and bring some patience, you will be happy. If you come for a "quick bite" or hope to squeeze it into a lunch hour, good luck. Here and everywhere else, default to compassion. They're working as fast as they can. There's places with legitimately bad service entirely due to apathy. That is not what happens here. Came for the food, loved the food, 5 stars.

My boyfriend and i went to Austin for his birthday and stopped here for his lunch. The man working (possibly the owner?) was so nice and very accommodating. The seasoning on the crab alone was amazing. We did the lemon pepper mixed with hot and was chefs kiss. Only thing to keep in mind is this is a food truck and is picnic table seating if you eat there (meaning no "tools" for opening the legs) but they're good enough you'll do whatever you can to crack them open

I freaking love this place! I had one of these near me while I was in college in college station. When I found one less than 15 minutes away from me I was super excited! The cook was not wearing a mask so that felt kind of unsafe during Covid. The location is pretty bad for parking and safety. BUT the food is so good! I got a spicy honey garlic butter and the flavor was perfect! You get a lot of food for the price but $20 is still expensive for a lunch portion of food.

I love this place, I usually get their lunch special (which is available before 2pm). You get a snow crab cluster, 6 shrimp, sausage, potatoes, corn and a boiled egg (which I sub out for corn). What makes this place even better are the special butter flavors (only 99 cent extra for each flavor). I get the spicy garlic parmesan butter (spice level not for the faint of heart). Black owned, good service, consistently great food, and centrally located.

5 stars! We were craving seafood and I had heard about Krab Kingz! I was so happy to see that they have a food truck down on 6th right on the east corner of 35. We were warmly greeted, the music was bumping, and it smelled amazing. There are a lot of different options from crab, shrimp, platters that have a little of everything. They even had peach cobbler. We went with the loaded platter. It had 3 clusters of crab, 17 shrimp, 2 sausage, 2 hard boiled eggs, and potatoes. You also get to choose the flavor so I we did lemon pepper, and got a couple of sides of the spicy butter. We didn't have to wait very long and it was hard to wait until we got home to dig in! When we did...flavor in every bite! We are already trying to decide if we will go back before the week is up. They have tables out front that you can eat at too. Definitely support this business. Your stomach will thank you.

The new Krab Kingz food truck sounded like both a wonderful and terrible concept, and I had to see which it was. Turns out it's just that - simultaneously both wonderful and terrible. At least what matters most is that the food tastes wonderful! Fresh seafood and customizable seasonings made for a delicious spread. I ordered the lunch platter with one crab cluster, half a cob of corn, a full sausage, a hard-boiled egg and potato pieces, all seasoned with honey garlic butter. It tasted just as good as I hoped, and just as good as seafood from some destination restaurant. So what's the bad? Well, there are a lot of drawbacks. Most are related to the location. You'd have to be brave or crazy to set up business near the I-35 homeless camps, but that's just what they did. It's hard to enjoy a meal with vagrants eyeing it, flaunting their unwillingness to take control of their lives, littering and causing the entire block to smell of urine. Even without that, a corner next to a seedy liquor store is less-than-picturesque, and the noise of the highway was only made worse when the food truck proprietors turned loud on hip-hop music. Next, the practical side of eating whole crab next to a food truck is complicated. Plastic cutlery is no match for crab shells. You have to dig in with your hands, and end up with the biggest mess you've experienced in years... then there's no bathroom to clean up afterwards. (And if you need a lot of water to wash down your meal like I do, you'll want a bathroom for more than just washing your hands!) A minor detail that bugs me is the name - "Krab" is the term for fake crab meat, so they're not doing themselves any favors implying their quality is lower than it really is. The whole spelling is cringeworthy, reminiscent of slang that was almost-but-not-quite-cool when I was a preteen, twenty years ago. I did enjoy my food but I felt sketchy and uncomfortable the entire time. I'm glad I tried it, but now it's been crossed off my to-eat list and I'll save seafood to times when I'm out at better restaurants.

My list of places to try in Austin is a never-ending backlog. About a year ago, I had a friend…read morerecommend Lil' Easy for dinner. Since it was this new and poppin' restaurant on East Cesar Chavez from the team behind De Nada, we had over an hour wait that we didn't take up. Its vibe intrigued me, and I think Cajun food is top five like Tatum with a cut. I decided to prepare only slightly this time. While getting dinner with a friend, we were discussing places when I suggested Lil' Easy. I threw a reservation down for an hour later at one of their numerous dining options. Upon arrival, parking at that little strip of restaurants on East Cesar Chavez is a bit treacherous. If you're not afraid of getting your steps in at 6 pm on a Friday, don't sweat it. Anyone else, good luck. There are a lot of different seating arrangements at Lil' Easy: the true outdoor patio with fans and umbrellas, the climate-controlled outdoor space that still brings the sun while still pumping A/C, and the traditional indoor space. Plenty of seating. The entire place was decorated with Mardi Gras beads and colors. Off the rip, we had to set the tone: I ordered a Pimm's Cup while my friend got some secret frozen swirl. We had to throw down an order of the Crawfish Queso as well. The food and drinks were served so quickly, we questioned if it was ours. The queso was De Nada's signature queso with Crawfish Étouffée mixed in. There are no tortilla chips on the side, but instead toasted bread. It's kinda like a DIY Crostini. The crawfish's flavor is a unique and savory balance to the cheesiness of the queso. Very delightful. We crushed it. My friend wanted to go wild. Another appetizer?? Their Shrimp Cocktail was thrown down immediately after ordering. The shrimp was great, but those house pickles were sneakily one of the best things they served us. Living the high life. Speaking of that, I ordered a High Life Pony as we made our main orders: a Fried Catfish Po'Boy and Fried Oyster Po'Boy. Both cut down the middle so we could have a little this, a little that. I think the bread, the catfish and the oysters, and the fries served alongside it were all incredible. My only issue was that the catfish po'boy had horseradish in it. That is a me issue, and I don't know why I can't stand horseradish. I don't know if it was hiding in their coleslaw or their rémoulade, but something was horseradish-y! I'd get the oyster po'boy again and again though! We closed the night with me being fun as I ordered their Frozen Espresso Martini with sprinkles and whipped cream because some other lady sitting nearby had that, and I WANTED TO BE FUN TOO. My friend got herself the seasonal nonalcoholic Arnold Palmer that was spiked with some Deep Eddy Lemon Vodka. Hers was great, but mine was basically a milkshake. I looked like a joyous kid with my drink. I was so very happy. They do give you lids for your drinks if you want to take them with you, but I planned to finish mine then and there. The gimme cups are also a nice touch and have their cute alligator mascot on them. Throughout the night, we could not believe how fast the service was at getting our meals and our drinks to us. Our waitress was absolutely on point the entire time we were there, constantly checking in on us and being extremely friendly and helpful in making sure we chose the right things and had a good meal ahead of us. Lil' Easy is casual, fun, and absolutely delicious. They have some of the best frozens in Austin, and their food is some of the best seafood and Cajun food I've had in Austin, hands down. Get over here. RIYL: crawfish and cocktails
