Shrimp and sides were very good for the price but it's definitely not half a pound it's less, I would just order a full pound because the half is probably closer to around 1/4 of a pound. Customer service was pretty terrible the cashier had no idea what he was doing he was seating groups out of order and our server was very fast and snappy but it came off very rude. Captain crab was crackin!!! I like this spot! It's spacious so you get nice distance between others. The seafood boil was reasonably priced at $33 & it was GOOOOOOD. I had the famous low country boil (crab/shrimp/sausage/corn/potato/egg). I had the captain special sauce w/medium heat. Also, my crab/shrimp was clean! Perfect taste, perfect slight heat. Let's also talk about the drink menu.. the henny margarita was $11 & so is the cadillac.. where they do that at?!? And, it was strong! The seafood price, the taste, the drinks.. Awesome!! Captain crap... oh i mean captain crab lol.. this place is just okay. If your gonna eat here go with the bag forsure. The other food is alright. The hush puppies are good. they were short staffed so the service wasnt great. I felt stiffed when it came to the happy hour drinks. There was no liquor in them at all just the margarita syrup. Convenient location off the freeway. Huge space. Went on a Saturday evening and was only a five minute wait to be seated. Our server was super nice and checked on us every twenty minutes. We ordered crab legs, green mussels, head on prawns, corn, potatoes, and rice. . We ordered 3lbs of seafood in mild cajun sauce. For our drinks, we had long island tea and hot lemon water. Ooh.. this place is bomb.com! I'm here for work in Stockton and I've been here twice this week for take out. I love boiling crab and this style seafood boil. I got shrimp with head on and clams both times. I do the everything seasoning with mild spice and it is so good. It's not too spicy, just a little kick. More on the salty Cajun side compared to places I've tried but that is my preference. One thing I appreciate is they gave me corn and potatoes both times without ordering it. Just a single piece but it was delish. To-go packaging is great. Front host was very friendly. Don't forget to ask for some lemons togo to dip the shrimp in. I came when they first opened last year and got it to-go. It was pretty salty. This second visit we dined in on a Friday afternoon. Space was super empty but I loved it that way! Our server was kind and attentive. The food was delicious and I think they improved the salt level because it was perfect! I got a pound of shrimp and the server said it came with 1 potato and 1 corn. I didn't hear that part and got a side corn order (3 pcs) so I ended up with 4 corns!!! Lol. I ate it all though. It tasted fresh and not frozen. Or if it was, I couldn't tell. I was a little surprised though when my husband ordered a draft beer, our server said she'd have to check if a bartender was in bc they usually show up around 5pm (she said). In all my years of living I have never been so offended in a public place. The bar was clearly open and bar refused service. I live right around the corner from this place and finally decided to give it a try. I sat at the bar that was fairly full of customers. The bartender walked by several times before she finally asked if I wanted a menu. Then she walked by numerous times and avoided making eye contact. FINALLY she (Ciara) asked for my order! At this point, I'd been sitting there at least 15-20 mins...they weren't that busy and most lounge area tables were empty. Yeah, this was a bad start. This place hasn't been open too long. There's plenty of parking and some big TV monitors in the bar area snd is ADA compliant. I was in the mood for some fish and chips so I ordered the Tilapia basket and a draft beer. It definitely took longer than it should have taken to get my food. I know because when the food arrived, it was delivered with an apology about the long wait. I asked for silverware but never got any! I also wanted some malted vinegar and lemon but again, couldn't wrangle down the bartender. I eventually cornered another worker to get the vinegar and lemons. Now the fish pieces were a decent size, however, they didn't taste that good (which is why I asked for the vinegar and lemon). Now the french fries were hot, crispy, and good. Half way through my beer, I ordered another one. Then I waited and ate and waited and ate until my plate was empty and never got it. Discussed with the horrible service, I told the bartender to cancel the second beer and to total me out. Nice as she was, the bartender definitely didn't know how to properly wait on customers. The food is OK I mean it's your typical seafood boil. I'm not too much of a fan of their sauce after going to boil and crab in Sacramento, but it will do especially since it's way closer my only problem I would say would be their service. Here is not up to par. I took my girlfriend here one night and the service was just unbelievable. The lady was rude. How she gave us. Our food was rude. Maybe she just didn't have a good day. And visited here for the first time, and I was actually pretty satisfied with the bag portion that my boyfriend and I shared for two people. Was definitely fulfilling. We also had some appetizers prior to dinner and some drink orders. Everything was pretty tasteful as well as a little spice. we got this location at a perfect time and started getting packed throughout. Service seemed pretty convenient and fast. They do have a couple of TV screens that were showing sports at the current time one of the television screens, however was stuck on a TV guide with nothing showing. This location also has a bar set up around the corner from the dining area so you can also enjoy your drinks if you're not really looking to have a bite to eat. So hear me out, I'm originally from the Bay, where the likes of Boiling Crab, Kickin' Crab and Backyard Bayou are really popular and all really great in their own rights. So trying to find a decent seafood place in the 209 has been a challenge but Captain Crab really does a great effort in filling that void for me. I've dined in here before but definitely much prefer ordering to-go. I usually call ahead of time and place my order for pickup. I've never had any issues with the staff over the phone or at the restaurant. They're always attentive and kind and I really can't ask much more since their service is always up to par. What I really like more than anything is that every time I've ordered their shrimp, it's cooked really well. Nothing is more disappointing then biting into a shrimp that's been overcooked and completely mushy! But luckily, I haven't had that experience here. Their Captain Special sauce (all of the seasonings they offer all together) is tasty. We always get mild, so that we can enjoy the taste without kicking ourselves for getting something too spicy that it isn't enjoyable to eat. Captain Crab should definitely be added to your list of places to try out if you're a big fan of seafood! read more

So I came by on Monday, Labor Day Sept. 6th with some friends to try Captain Crab. When we arrived it was not that busy and had a 10 minute wait for our table. As soon as we entered 70% of the people inside were NOT wearing their masks which included both staff and customers. I believe I only saw 4 staff members with masks and 2 of them actually wearing it correctly. This was quite disappointing and worrisome as most were openly talking and holding our food. When we were finally seated we were put in a line of tables which were right next to (almost touching) other tables, while the restaurant was half empty around 4:30PM. The waitress came to take our orders of drinks and appetizers to had a mask under but it was under her chin. After we ordered our drink it took about 20 minutes for them to arrive. Then we waited another 10 minutes so a total of 30 minutes for appetizers. When we were finally given the supplies for our meal I opened scissors and there was residue grease from another customer still in them. I did not get a chance to take pictures cause it was kinda gross and I did not want to touch it after. That's was pretty gross and unsanitary especially with a pandemic going on (which I'm not sure the staff was aware of). I'm total we waited about an hour for the actual bags of food to arrive, which is quite ridiculous. We ordered one family bag which included snow crab legs, mussels, and crawfish. We also got a another bag of shrimp, mussels, and crawfish which came with corn and potatoes. Everything was pretty tasty except the fact that half of the mussels were not thoroughly cooked so we're closed shut. Overall food itself was 7/10, kinda too salty in the seasoning, and need to improve on cooking the mussels til they're done cause they weren't ready yet so we wasted money. Been here about 3 times, service is always great. This time the food was disappointing, as we left I was wishing we'd gone to the Olive Garden just down the street. Don't order Po Boys, they were just dry and not that tasty. There was a kid driving his parents crazy, I felt for them, they had to change tables because the lil monster grabbed the paper covering the table and dumped all their drinks, I think the mom was crying. (The brat wasn't Captain Crab's fault, I wanted to offer to spank the brat for the parents, but since they kept giving him a cell phone to shut him up, I knew it was too late for a spanking!) Captain Crab has done it again! This is my go-to spot in Stockton. I get cravings now because the food is just that good. I ordered the Shrimp Seafood Boil Lunch Special! It was amazingly delicious. My mother had the fried oysters and the fried shrimp with cajun fries. She said they were both on point. The Captain Crab restaurant will have regulars, which will include me and my mother. With My boyfriend I got Dungeness crab and the combo of famous low country boil but I will be really honest the seafood was so salty, the garlic butter is not garlic butter it's just butter also the seafood is overcooked. Located in Stockton where the Old Spaghetti Factory used to be. Service was ok, pricing was ok for the portions, but the flavors were a hit or miss. The pickle spears tasted old/funky and the chicken wings were dry and like the size of my pinky. I did enjoy the little fried mushrooms and cheese sticks. I thought the batter for the fried food wasn't bad! The fried oysters tasted pretty fishy. The crab boil seasoning had too much celery salt for me to enjoy but the kids liked it so whatever. As a surprise for being Cancer free my children ordered me the Crab in a bag. I was so happy for them to do that for me. There were 4 Snow Crab legs and one pincher Shrimp one potato one egg and sausage. The crab was a big disappointment. The legs were hallow with no meat in them except for the Pincher had a little piece of dried up meat. i called and talked to the manager A+++ and he asked me if I took a picture of the claws to show they was empty. Since I have no picture they would not be able to compensate me with a new crab or a partial refund.. This is very disappointing because it was very expensive. Finally went to Captain Crabs today for lunch. We were a bit anxious about being there at 12:00 pm and seeing that there were only about 4 other customers, maybe this is not going to be any good. That was NOT the case. The food was excellent as was the service. Since we weren't familiar with the menu, we asked our server Linda for help. She knocked it out of the park. 1 lb Dungeness and 1 lb King Crab "Boiling" combo with garlic butter and non spicy seasoning. It was amazing !!! So were the red potatoes and the corn on the cob. All mixed together in a plastic bag. I thought that was strange, but it made total sense. Try it and you will understand. And, all that food for 2 was only $38.
