Sammy Creek Landing is no exception. Basically it was once upon a time a home but today it's a local park but we can't figure out if it's a county park or from the state. We always wonder because one year it's nice and relaxing and another year it's overgrown with weeds and kind of sad. I remember when it had no parking (limited to parking on Old State Road 4A), and nowadays it has a parking lot and it's landscaped and it's pretty clean. Nonetheless the place is nice... and I cherish the memories I have of this place.

A great place to take bikes to ride around the loop trail and down the burn out bridge trail. Great place to take in views of the old highway that used to be connected to the Burn out bridge. It kinda takes a while to get to one end of the trail. But it's totally worth it when you get to the end because you can swim, though there's a current, and take in the views of the national refuge there in the lower keys.

And he genuinely seems like he's give you the shirt off his back. It's a little bit of a drive for us but 100% worth it due to his hospitality. We've already recommended them to our friends who plan on visiting. Beautiful place and in a very safe neighborhood right down the road from the sheriffs station.
