Headed there with low expectations but figured it was worth a shot since it was just a few minutes away from the market. Once inside, a friendly associate asked what I needed help with. Told him I was looking for mahi and he said "we're out up here but let me check the back". A few minutes later, he makes his way up to the counter with a large mahi in hand. He skinned and deboned it right there for me and sent me on my way. The price and quality of the fish were both amazing!! My only regret is that I didn't buy more when I was there. They'll cut steaks to any thickness you desire, but chances are, it's already in the case. They have tomahawk steaks and every other prime cut with exquisite marbling. K&K also has the always elusive guanciale if you're a fan of authentic carbonara, as I am. I was spoiled in Rome, and now thanks to K&K, I can make carbonara just as I had it on the Borgo Pio. The meat here is fresh and has all the cuts you want. They also have a nice curated selection of wines and other condiments worth considering. Don't get me wrong, I love the West Side Market, I can walk there from where I live. However, it's worth getting in my car and driving to K&K.
