As I stumbled upon their website, I noticed that everything looked great. The website was well done with its branding, and the online form submittal with the VIN# match was spot on. Also, the overall look and feel of the site were good, which gave me some comfort. https://www.carsofla.com/ - in fact, they offered me $13,000 via text and wanted me to set up an appointment for an inspection. It was clear on their website that a representative will come over with all the necessary documents. (See attached screenshot from their website). This was false. From my multiple communication via text and also submitting another request from their form online, it was clear that they had no representative and that I had to drive my car into their shop for an inspection. That didn't bother me that much; it was only a 1/2 hour drive. When I arrived, I was a bit surprised. There was no shop. It was an office building, and there were no signs that said "Cars of LA". I entered through a door with a sign that said "....Trading Co." I can't quite remember exactly what it said. When I entered, the office was empty. It's a fairly large office space with about 3-4 small offices and a lobby area. Eventually, a gentleman showed up for my appointment, and we walked out to my car for an inspection. He first pulled out a device that I wasn't familiar with. Later, I found that it was a paint thickness gauge. He checked the paint throughout my car to make sure the reading on the device was under "7." He eventually found some parts of the exterior body that read over 7. He said my car was damaged and had been worked on before, which was not true. My car was never damaged or repainted for any reason. We went back into his office, and he offered me $9000 for the car. What? How did it go from $13,000 to $9000? It was so weird. And the whole paint thickness device was super weird, too. I don't know much about "purchasing used cars for resale business," so please forgive me if this is a standard protocol, but I felt a bit manipulated by this procedure. Anyway, I am not saying don't do business with them; I am just posting this to give the readers a more realistic expectation of selling their car through Cars of LA. Hope this is helpful.

My hope is that if enough disgruntled people raise hell over this, that the company will be held accountable and brought to justice. I sold my 2017 Volvo XC60 to Bidlane on 1/2/24. I brought my vehicle, and a sales rep named George took photos of the car and offered $16,000, which I accepted. I signed a contract and they took my title and registration. The agreement was that I would be wired the full amount by 1/11/24, which never happened. I tried calling and texting various employee numbers. I could never get through. The one person who texted on behalf of the company kept asking for "my patience." After nearly 3 weeks of this, I finally went back to the location to confront the salesmen in person and collect my promised payment. But upon arrival, no one was in the office and it was marked "temporarily closed" until next year! On Yelp and Google, I saw that all Bidlane locations had closed as well. So my car has essentially been stolen by a fraudulent company. I am now without a car and without the promised payment. Bidlane can rest assured that I will pursue every legal avenue to get back what is owed.

The price was good, but it had a whole center console missing, with a pillow cover. the screen was cracked. The headrests actually had screens in the back, 1 of them worked and the other didn't and he said that's why he had covered them up and didn't advertise the screens because 1 didn't function. Mind you, these may be flaws others are willing to look past, but I'm the type of person that wants quality. there was many more flaws in the interior that's to much to mention, and the exterior had dents that aren't noticeable in the pictures, the tires were super old, it had oil leaks, and like I said more things I won't mention, all minor things I guess but when u add it up it comes out to atleast 3k more.. His advertising makes it seem like the cars are nice, it isn't until you get there that the flaws are revealed. And I drove all the way down there from Indio. A lot of these reviews are great and everyone says how " honest " he is, but an honest person wouldn't falsely advertise. He didn't reveal how the car was " not perfect " in his words, until we got there. He seemed like a nice guy, even when my boyfriend and his dad were expressing their dislikes, Gil said how he didn't take it personally, that he isn't attached to these cars. needless to say, Gil blocked me on facebook after I decided not to make the purchase.
