Don't think I'll be coming here for maintenance anymore. I came in today for a simple oil change and was quoted nearly $1,000 for a 30K maintenance service. Reza T didn't initially show me a breakdown of the pricing and pressured me to sign while saying the wait would only be 3-4 hours. I mentioned there was a 20% off coupon, and he said he would apply it, so I agreed. Later, while I was already waiting, he had me sign another document that finally included the itemized breakdown. I also reminded him that I had a buy one get one free oil change, and he said he would check on it. In the end, I waited nearly 5 hours and still had to message them myself just to get an update. My car only has around 33K miles, and I've stayed consistent with maintenance every six months, so I'm not sure what justified a service quote close to $1,000. When I finally reviewed the breakdown, a large part of it was for things like a throttle service and cabin filter replacement, which actually had coupons available that I wasn't allowed to apply. On top of that, they now charge a 2% fee for credit card payments and no longer include a car wash. Overall, the experience felt disappointing and not very transparent. Unfortunately, the long wait times and pushy upselling tactics made this a disappointing experience, and I won't be returning. read more

I've come here quite a bit and have had different service advisors- -all good . Eric was nice and good , so was Izzy and so was ..I think her name is Ziluma or something similar . This last time I had Reggie who was nice and helpful and a good service advisor as well . I would say the guys greeting u for appointment are not great .. and not very nice or kind in their demeanor . I know they have to get everyone in quickly but the older guy in red shirt was not nice and shaking his head about me at other guy (totally wrong to be like venting to other coworker about me .. terrible and in front of me ) like I was such a problem when he started to tell me what to do and I said wait a minute let me tell u why I'm here . No patience at all . So I talked with the other guy . Who was like "no prob no prob" , Reggie was this way too-almost trying to calm me down instead of looking at root of problem . I wasn't being a crazy female just because I don't like being cut off and I definitely don't appreciate being treated this way . I do get low blood sugar and I might have been a tad off and excitable or moody & if this was part of it my bad ..but I have to say the guy with red shirt was cantankerous. I could really cause a problem for the dealership and speak to a manager but I didn't go there . It did feel a bit sexist with the impatience and such when I just wanted to say why I was there. I don't think I would be treated in abrupt manner if I was a male customer. I get That the guys up front are just trying to get u in but the rudeness from red shirt guy was unacceptable. The other you with glasses and dark hair up front was just brushing me off and not taking my complaint seriously. Reggie said he would talk to The red shirt guy and I apologized about how I came in and some of this was my bad but I don't know b if I'll frequent this auto dealer Much. Seems to be a bro club and not taking women seriously . I didn't appreciate the man spraining of the front entrance guys and actually combative argumentative behavior with red shirt older guy with grey hair in a baseball cap . I asked to speak to someone else since he was so rushed and rude from The start . He wouldn't even let me say one sentence before cutting me off . I joked with Reggie the service advisor that I don't need to say a novel when entering shop but I'm tired of apologizing for being a woman coming into an almost all male establishment. But for anywhere with women and men because women are waiting for their cars too and some women employees .. don't be jerks or aholes please . Or let ppl know what the entrance guys want .. didn't know it was a military type or robotic expectation and to be rushed through. People nicer at and more welcoming at the entrance would be great . I'm not sure if anyone has said this but it's important to have nice and welcoming greeters and not anyone too impatient and being sexist is not great either if u want customers since u will have customers or the male and female variety and even non binary . I may go back to this place .will see , Tustin one closer to me . Just think of talking to ppl at the entrance and telling them to have better attitudes . It's not the end of the world if they can let a woman or man give them a sentence or what's going on. I was joking with the older guy too and he had a piss poor Attitude. His sidekick not a whole lot better with robotic attitude . Just so u know a little nice energy goes a long way ! I basically was trying to say "a guy named Wesley contacted me via text and helped me set up appt -not sure if he was a person or ai " that was supposed to be funny .. the older guy couldn't handle that apparently with red shirt. In next breath I was going to say "I have an appointment at 1pm " and that's it So the dude didn't need to act like I was taking up an hour of his time . Not cool at all . Because of this surly behavior , I may not make Irvine Toyota nation my number one service spot for my car sorry to say . Service advisors can make up for it but all employees need to be kind to customers and not so impatient . Not good ! Re the waiting area , upgrading of colors and design would be good , coffee maker doesn't always work, more high table seating would be good . We told them exactly what we needed to close the deal and they helped to get us there. Bailey's follow-up was very appreciated. I was glad to be finally picking up my vehicle after service, but the employee that dropped it off wouldn't let me leave with it. He said I needed my receipt so showed it to him. I even provided my ID to match the name on the receipt. Showing both items didn't work. Annoyed as I was, I didn't want to just jump in and drive off with the vehicle and leave. I went back inside the garage and had to explain to service advisor Heather what was going on. Isolated incident maybe and I'm probably one and only person that this has happened to. But this guy has seen me before with this vehicle for numerous previous services, and somehow picked today to keep me from leaving with it. I have to say though that service advisor Heather is one of the best I've interacted with and I don't find her at fault for what occurred. Walked into Toyota Irvine for routine service. Walked out with a $2,800+ upsell sheet generated BEFORE anyone inspected my vehicle. No evaluation. No verification. Just a canned list of "recommended" services. Most of the items they pushed were already completed, which a two-minute Carfax check would have shown. Instead, I got the full menu of dealer fluff: premature fluid exchanges, vague "preventative" services labeled as urgent, and zero explanation of actual need or findings. This wasn't service--it was a sales funnel. The assumption seems to be that customers won't question anything and will just sign. If you value honesty or basic due diligence, avoid this place. I just bought a new car there and will not be a repeat customer. Paid via wire and could not get a straight answer from the dealer after I had written confirmation from my bank that the wire was successfully completed. Just excuses that they are a big company and it can take a few days. After an exhausting few hours of calling finance, sales and their corporate office, they finally tracked down the wire. I asked them to deliver the car so I wouldn't need to drive there again and they refused to deliver it despite the fact we are in the same city, Irvine. The bottom line is they had my money and the car and wanted me to wait while they look into it. No follow up from AutoNation. I had to keep calling and texting them. Bought a new Toyota at Tustin Toyota a few months ago and had NO PROBLEMS. Should have gone back there but decided to use the Costco program. Should have asked Tustin to price match but tried to do the right thing and give AutoNation the business since they worked up the quote. read more

The experience I am reviewing is with the sales dept. I am sad to report that the low rating of this business is not only merited, but possibly deserves to be lower than it is. If you are coming to this dealership from farther away, any more than 15 minutes, you are being warned, you could likely be wasting your time, and prepare to be treated like you don't really matter because there's less Toyotas than there are people who want one. I have been to other Toyota dealerships, such as nearby Tustin Toyota, which gave a much better experience. At least for the salesman that I spoke with, he wasted our time and wasted the gas to go to this dealership. Over the phone, he promised that he had a Toyota Sienna in stock and it was not. I was asked by text multiple times from different phone numbers from this same dealership about a Toyota Sienna Limited that was on the lot, so I texted the salesman twice if it was still there just prior to my arrival on a Saturday morning. He said it was in stock so I made an appointment at 1115am. I arrived right on time at 1115am, and asked for the salesman at the front desk, and the staff couldn't seem to find him so I called him a few minutes later. The salesman said he was busy with another customer and handed me over to his colleague. Unfortunately, I was asked questions which I had already answered with the original salesman which made this whole exercise repetitive and further waste of time. I told him I already made an appointment to test drive the Sienna on the lot and he said he would look for it. He walked around the lot, even asked me if I had seen it, he said he didn't know where it was. A while later, he asked his colleagues and they didn't seem to know. And then later said it was sold yesterday. And then proceeded to ask me if I was interested in something else. When I expressed my disappointment, the salesman said it was because the Toyotas are so popular and sell out so fast. That is NOT an explanation for not doing your job, and NOT acceptable reason for not checking on something so that you are telling accurate information and not wasting customer's time. I don't know if this dealership's inventory system is inefficient, or if salespeople will say anything just to get you to come in, or if they think you are so desperate for a Toyota that they won't even feel they need to do something simple like check if a vehicle is actually there, and you'll be okay running around to find one because you have no choice OR all of the above, but the reality is you do have a choice. There are plenty of Toyota dealerships with good ethics, are honest and won't waste your time. For me, I won't be wasting my time with Autonation again. read more

Terrible service. I took my car in to have it detailed. After picking it up, the car sputtered all the way home, and died when I parked it in my garage. The AAA battery replacement tech said battery was at 0 charge. This means Toyota killed my battery, and instead of being honest about it, they jumped my car and sent me home with a dead battery. If they had told me the truth, I would have been understanding, but to jump start my car and send me home with a dead battery is inexcusable! I will never go back to this location! read more

I brought my 2023 GR Corolla here earlier this year for a major engine repair (short block replacement). My advisor was professional and worked hard to get Toyota Goodwill to cover the cost of parts, and I paid nearly $3,700 in labor. At the time, I left a positive review because I thought the job was handled well. Months later, I had unrelated work done at a trusted independent shop and they discovered serious workmanship issues from the engine repair at Toyota of Irvine. Several critical drivetrain bolts had been left loose or damaged, which could have caused catastrophic failure if not caught in time. The independent shop had to replace the hardware, resurface parts, and fix the assembly properly, all at my own expense. When I brought this back to the dealer, they refused to take responsibility, saying they wouldn't cover the costs because I hadn't towed the car back to them. Given that the same dealer caused the problem in the first place, I did not feel safe letting them touch the car again. While my advisor was helpful and Toyota covered parts during the original repair, the lack of quality control and accountability on safety-critical work is extremely concerning. If you need major service here, be cautious and consider having another shop double-check the work. read more

But the worst part was when he promised me that the service would only take 2 hours, but it took 5 hours. After many attempts to reach him during the service by phone, he was unresponsive. TrueCar pricing estimated the lease around $348/month, but I was quoted $450 and told to "take it or leave it." When I asked questions, his attitude became dismissive and unprofessional. He even told me he had the right to refuse service to anyone he wanted. My sister was uncomfortable with his erratic and emotionally charged behavior. This dealership is negligent for allowing an employee like this to interact with customers. The lack of transparency and professionalism was shocking. Do not go here for service... They have changed and are not honest. Been going here for years and even purchased a Toyota from them. Every service they seemed honest and would sometimes recommend an optional service. First sign I should of left was the moment I drove up my advisor DEMANDED I unplug my dash cam. (the only reason a dealer would do this is if they are trying to scam you or steal from your car) I unplugged it from the power output but someone later unplugged all the wires from the dash cam itself. This time seemed like the biggest scam I have ever seen. Before they even looked at my car they told me there were 10+ other services that should be done and my $89 oil change was in the thousands without ever checking if the services were done elsewhere. I asked since they wanted to perform so many services at once it should be discounted since it would seem they would be doing multiple things at the same time.....he told me no but he could give 10% off. After declining and telling him I normally use Autonation's mobile service because its a quarter of the price of them he told me he has never heard of it and didn't believe me. I literally had to show him the site. We talked about tires and I told him how I got quotes from Costco and Discount Tire already and he argued that they were cheaper (his quote was 3 times higher than DT and double Costco) then he argued that the prices they quoted were incorrect. Also they do not tell you in advance but they now charge a 2% service fee if you pay with a credit card. I though it was just if you pay online but they charge it in store. On Tuesday, November 11, 2025, I went to AutoNation Toyota Irvine to look for a new car to purchase. The experience was NOT GOOD. Adam Bahnassi was the salesperson. He was polite, but it was very frustrating to answer the same question over and over again - 5 times in total - "Is your car paid off?" I told him yes it was repeatedly, but for some reason he kept asking me many times. Then it came time to find out the value for my trade-in vehicle, I'm very upset that the sales manager (the tall Latino male) first told me that my car was worth only $1500, and then he tried to take advantage of me even further by putting even less than that of only $1000 on the paper for the credit for the trade-in. That is very disappointing that he did that. Then the Asian man who gave me the print out of the car trade-in condescendingly told me "Have you seen the amount of damage on the car?" when I told him that the sales manager had told me it was $1500, but that only $1000 was written on the statement. He made a hand-written note to increase it by $500 to make it a total of $1500. But at that point it was too late. I was too frustrated with the whole experience, and had lost trust in this Irvine Toyota dealership. read more

I had such a weird experience at this Toyota location. Here is a tip for future customers: Call before showing up and make sure that the car that you saw on their website is actually physically at their dealership. This was my experience. Short story. I saw a white GTI (Manual) on their website with one fake picture (No more pictures), I was already suspicious. My wife stopped there before coming home just to see if the car was there, before picking me up. She showed the website and picture to the salesman and he looked so puzzled. His words "That is such a weird picture." He went to get the keys, 15 minutes later, still looking for keys lol. My wife just wanted to get eyes on the car, not drive it. I told her to leave. I went to the website, clicked on the "confirm availability" option. 2 minutes later, someone called me. Still they could not find the car. No keys, no car. They had no idea of the whereabouts of the white GTI, lol. So crazy. Here we are, a full 24 hours and a bit more after the fact, still no car, no keys, no phone calls about it. But the car is still available on their website somehow. Crazy right? lol. read more
