WASTE OF TIME! I put in a request to sell my van. It went ti a couple dealerships. Wasn't the price I wanted. There was a feature that I could put in a counter offer. So I did that. These guys were the only one to reach out and told me I needed to go by so they could take a look at the vehicle. We scheduled an appointment on Sunday afternoon. I rearranged my plans and met with Kirk. Super nice guy but apparently didn't have anyone on staff to do the certification. Why have me come in?!?!? He said the car looked very clean and that they want it. Can likely get close to the price I asked. Stupidly, I agreed to come back the next day. Rearrangement the schedule again. Their marketing talks about fast turn around, 15 mins , blah blah blah. I go in and they tell me it'll be over 45 minutes for them to inspect. I've sold cars to many other dealerships including private dealers and I'm in and out in less than 5 mins. We ultimately agree to a price that I'm comfortable with but not very close to my counter. They had me wait while they process paperwork only to come back to take their offer off the table. They said their sister dealership in Costa Mesa spoke with me yesterday and offered a price. And they can't offer more than that. First of all, that dealership never inspected my car. Second, why wasn't this hashed out prior to my first visit? Autonation = Autosucks. Don't think I'll be coming here for maintenance anymore. I came in today for a simple oil change and was quoted nearly $1,000 for a 30K maintenance service. Reza T didn't initially show me a breakdown of the pricing and pressured me to sign while saying the wait would only be 3-4 hours. I mentioned there was a 20% off coupon, and he said he would apply it, so I agreed. Later, while I was already waiting, he had me sign another document that finally included the itemized breakdown. I also reminded him that I had a buy one get one free oil change, and he said he would check on it. In the end, I waited nearly 5 hours and still had to message them myself just to get an update. My car only has around 33K miles, and I've stayed consistent with maintenance every six months, so I'm not sure what justified a service quote close to $1,000. When I finally reviewed the breakdown, a large part of it was for things like a throttle service and cabin filter replacement, which actually had coupons available that I wasn't allowed to apply. On top of that, they now charge a 2% fee for credit card payments and no longer include a car wash. Overall, the experience felt disappointing and not very transparent. Unfortunately, the long wait times and pushy upselling tactics made this a disappointing experience, and I won't be returning. read more

I was glad to be finally picking up my vehicle after service, but the employee that dropped it off wouldn't let me leave with it. He said I needed my receipt so showed it to him. I even provided my ID to match the name on the receipt. Showing both items didn't work. Annoyed as I was, I didn't want to just jump in and drive off with the vehicle and leave. I went back inside the garage and had to explain to service advisor Heather what was going on. Isolated incident maybe and I'm probably one and only person that this has happened to. But this guy has seen me before with this vehicle for numerous previous services, and somehow picked today to keep me from leaving with it. I have to say though that service advisor Heather is one of the best I've interacted with and I don't find her at fault for what occurred. I do get low blood sugar and I might have been a tad off and excitable or moody & if this was part of it my bad ..but I have to say the guy with red shirt was cantankerous. I could really cause a problem for the dealership and speak to a manager but I didn't go there . It did feel a bit sexist with the impatience and such when I just wanted to say why I was there. Walked into Toyota Irvine for routine service. Walked out with a $2,800+ upsell sheet generated BEFORE anyone inspected my vehicle. No evaluation. No verification. Just a canned list of "recommended" services. Most of the items they pushed were already completed, which a two-minute Carfax check would have shown. Instead, I got the full menu of dealer fluff: premature fluid exchanges, vague "preventative" services labeled as urgent, and zero explanation of actual need or findings. This wasn't service--it was a sales funnel. The assumption seems to be that customers won't question anything and will just sign. If you value honesty or basic due diligence, avoid this place. He didn't do anything and/or say anything otherwise, because he was on his phone speaking Arabic while I inspected the car. This dealership will not drop the price or negotiate at all! They bad mouth other dealerships. They are not professional at all! **7/27/2026** - After speaking with corporate and filing a DMV Complaint, the Finance Director finally got in touch with me and he's the only one who has been decently helpful. I have finally received my refund. I am still waiting for my trade in refund. Hoping to get that soon **7/17/2026** - its been almost a week and I still have yet to receive my refund and my check for my trade in. I also forgot to add by law they are not supposed to get rid of a trade in vehicle UNTIL the return period is over with and they told me they got rid of it when we came in person. So they broke the law and by doing that they were supposed to cut me a check by Monday and I have yet to recieve that as well. They left me without a vehicle and it has been extremely inconvenient. If there is an emergency I have no car to use. I have called corporate and have a case open and am waiting to hear back ** 7/13/2026 - UPDATED REVIEW ** Less than a week, we had issues with the car ended up returning it. We bought the car on Tuesday and had issues on Friday and returned it Saturday. Friday, the car was having electrical issues. Sometimes it would turn on and other times it wouldn't. I ended up stranded at a store. Because it was hot and we have a baby, our baby was overheating from trying to get the car started for a few minutes. This led her to rushing in the store to cool our baby down. Thankfully it started eventually and they were able to get home. I then called the sales team to explain what happened and was redirected several times. I asked to speak to several managers and never received a call back. My husband took the car back all the way from Riverside to get it inspected. He also called the sales team several times and was either hung up on or not answered by the management team. Finally, he showed up to the dealership and let them know what was going on. He had no way of getting back home so he asked the sales team to get me a Lyft back and thankfully got that covered. The next day, I followed up with sales and service and she still had not heard back from anyone with the exception of Reggie from the service team who was super helpful. My husband left the keys with the sales team before he left the night before since service was closed for the day. Reggie explained that the car hadn't been inspected yet because they couldn't find the keys the sales team never gave it to them. Finally, we heard back from Reggie and he said that the car battery was working but the car wasn't holding the charge implying that it may not have had the correct battery for the car and that since the car was sold as is that we would have to pay for the battery which was frustrating because we had just purchased the car and thought it had been inspected prior. Both my husband and I kept following up with the sales team and again kept getting the run around so we decided to head down there in person. We decided that if we were already having trouble with the car then we would be returning it to avoid future problems and missing the refund return period. When we got there, the gentlemen in the front asked how they could help and let them know we needed to speak to a manager. My husband and I both saw the gentleman go back to the management team to let them know what was going on and had us wait in the lobby. We waited for about 30 minutes and no one had helped us. We watched them stay in the back, talking amongst each other and yet we still didn't get help and the dealership was not busy at all. So we decided to go back there where they were sitting and talk to them myself. They looked surprised of course and we explained what was going on. They then asked how long we waited and as we told them they then tried to blame the guys up front which wasn't cool because we saw them notify them we were there and needed help. Finally we got the paperwork going by one manager and as we were walking to his office, we see the finance manager who helped us get the car and yet he did not acknowledge us once. It was extremely disappointing The paperwork got signed and was finished and we left very upset and disappointed. When my husband and I are taken care of we have no problem referring others, but since we were met with the worst service we've ever experienced we will be taking our business elsewhere. Really awesome dealership to do recall services! I made an appointment with Gilbert and his customer service was thorough, kind, friendly and not sleazy at all. They had a shuttle drive my husband and I to Irvine Spectrum to wait around while our car was being serviced and they picked us back up, too! The experience I am reviewing is with the sales dept. I am sad to report that the low rating of this business is not only merited, but possibly deserves to be lower than it is. If you are coming to this dealership from farther away, any more than 15 minutes, you are being warned, you could likely be wasting your time, and prepare to be treated like you don't really matter because there's less Toyotas than there are people who want one. I have been to other Toyota dealerships, such as nearby Tustin Toyota, which gave a much better experience. At least for the salesman that I spoke with, he wasted our time and wasted the gas to go to this dealership. Over the phone, he promised that he had a Toyota Sienna in stock and it was not. I was asked by text multiple times from different phone numbers from this same dealership about a Toyota Sienna Limited that was on the lot, so I texted the salesman twice if it was still there just prior to my arrival on a Saturday morning. He said it was in stock so I made an appointment at 1115am. I arrived right on time at 1115am, and asked for the salesman at the front desk, and the staff couldn't seem to find him so I called him a few minutes later. The salesman said he was busy with another customer and handed me over to his colleague. Unfortunately, I was asked questions which I had already answered with the original salesman which made this whole exercise repetitive and further waste of time. I told him I already made an appointment to test drive the Sienna on the lot and he said he would look for it. He walked around the lot, even asked me if I had seen it, he said he didn't know where it was. A while later, he asked his colleagues and they didn't seem to know. And then later said it was sold yesterday. And then proceeded to ask me if I was interested in something else. When I expressed my disappointment, the salesman said it was because the Toyotas are so popular and sell out so fast. That is NOT an explanation for not doing your job, and NOT acceptable reason for not checking on something so that you are telling accurate information and not wasting customer's time. I don't know if this dealership's inventory system is inefficient, or if salespeople will say anything just to get you to come in, or if they think you are so desperate for a Toyota that they won't even feel they need to do something simple like check if a vehicle is actually there, and you'll be okay running around to find one because you have no choice OR all of the above, but the reality is you do have a choice. There are plenty of Toyota dealerships with good ethics, are honest and won't waste your time. For me, I won't be wasting my time with Autonation again. read more

I brought my 2023 GR Corolla here earlier this year for a major engine repair (short block replacement). My advisor was professional and worked hard to get Toyota Goodwill to cover the cost of parts, and I paid nearly $3,700 in labor. At the time, I left a positive review because I thought the job was handled well. Months later, I had unrelated work done at a trusted independent shop and they discovered serious workmanship issues from the engine repair at Toyota of Irvine. Several critical drivetrain bolts had been left loose or damaged, which could have caused catastrophic failure if not caught in time. The independent shop had to replace the hardware, resurface parts, and fix the assembly properly, all at my own expense. When I brought this back to the dealer, they refused to take responsibility, saying they wouldn't cover the costs because I hadn't towed the car back to them. Given that the same dealer caused the problem in the first place, I did not feel safe letting them touch the car again. While my advisor was helpful and Toyota covered parts during the original repair, the lack of quality control and accountability on safety-critical work is extremely concerning. If you need major service here, be cautious and consider having another shop double-check the work. read more

Paid via wire and could not get a straight answer from the dealer after I had written confirmation from my bank that the wire was successfully completed. Just excuses that they are a big company and it can take a few days. After an exhausting few hours of calling finance, sales and their corporate office, they finally tracked down the wire. I asked them to deliver the car so I wouldn't need to drive there again and they refused to deliver it despite the fact we are in the same city, Irvine. The bottom line is they had my money and the car and wanted me to wait while they look into it. No follow up from AutoNation. I had to keep calling and texting them. Bought a new Toyota at Tustin Toyota a few months ago and had NO PROBLEMS. Should have gone back there but decided to use the Costco program. Should have asked Tustin to price match but tried to do the right thing and give AutoNation the business since they worked up the quote. read more

It was in service all week until today so we had an appointment set up to see it and drive it. After all of that, Baja was told it sold 30 minutes ago. When we asked to speak to the GM, he said a buyer sent money 2 days ago. Didn't even bother to tell his salesman or my son. I am not totally convinced that this is the truth. Terrible service. I took my car in to have it detailed. After picking it up, the car sputtered all the way home, and died when I parked it in my garage. The AAA battery replacement tech said battery was at 0 charge. This means Toyota killed my battery, and instead of being honest about it, they jumped my car and sent me home with a dead battery. If they had told me the truth, I would have been understanding, but to jump start my car and send me home with a dead battery is inexcusable! I will never go back to this location! read more

I understand theres nothing he can do. The service manger Oscar was not helpful whatsoever. I went in for an oil change and basic routine maintenance back around October of 2025 and my service advisor (Asian guy) tried to upsell me on services that came out to hundreds of dollars more than it should cost at an independent shop. But the worst part was when he promised me that the service would only take 2 hours, but it took 5 hours. After many attempts to reach him during the service by phone, he was unresponsive. No communication at all from him. I got most of my money back after speaking to his manager and told him how unacceptable this type of service is. It's Irvine man. TrueCar pricing estimated the lease around $348/month, but I was quoted $450 and told to "take it or leave it." When I asked questions, his attitude became dismissive and unprofessional. He even told me he had the right to refuse service to anyone he wanted. My sister was uncomfortable with his erratic and emotionally charged behavior. I had such a weird experience at this Toyota location. Here is a tip for future customers: Call before showing up and make sure that the car that you saw on their website is actually physically at their dealership. This was my experience. Short story. I saw a white GTI (Manual) on their website with one fake picture (No more pictures), I was already suspicious. My wife stopped there before coming home just to see if the car was there, before picking me up. She showed the website and picture to the salesman and he looked so puzzled. His words "That is such a weird picture." He went to get the keys, 15 minutes later, still looking for keys lol. My wife just wanted to get eyes on the car, not drive it. I told her to leave. I went to the website, clicked on the "confirm availability" option. 2 minutes later, someone called me. Still they could not find the car. No keys, no car. They had no idea of the whereabouts of the white GTI, lol. So crazy. Here we are, a full 24 hours and a bit more after the fact, still no car, no keys, no phone calls about it. But the car is still available on their website somehow. Crazy right? lol. read more
