I've been taking my cars here for years, since the 90s, probably over 5 cars now, and have recommended tons of people over the years. Not sure I will be doing that any longer. I've known these guys a long time, but they don't even remember me. Goes to show how much they care about their customers. For as long as I've know Khal and Car Stereo Masters, prices have always been a bit higher. It was not much of a problem before because of convenience (my parents live walking distance), and I had a place to hang out while they worked on my car. I've been taking cars here way before broadband and Yelp days. Now with Yelp, you have so many more choices and the truth about these shady spots comes out. I would have liked to give this shop more stars, considering how long I've known them, but after really seeing the quality of the work done, I won't think to even take my cars here again or recommend to anyone. To be fair, it's not the owner Khal's fault, but some of the tweakers he hires; I don't know, either they are overworked or incompetent. The wiring done by these guys is super sloppy. Since the wiring is all behind the scenes, you won't know how sloppy it is til you take apart your car. You may not find the result of sloppy wiring til years down the road when your car starts to short circuit and smoke on you, something that happened to me; luckily I was able to find the fault before my car burnt down. In addition, pieces and screws are not put back in place or go missing which devalues your car when you try to resell it. Lastly, do not get a tint job here. First off it's overpriced. Go to groupon or living social and you'll find much better quality deals there. They will try to sell it to you with a "lifetime" warranty. I came back to take advantage of the lifetime warranty because my tint was peeling. Some of it was was also scratched (which is not covered). Get clarification on this so called "lifetime" warranty before making a decision. I was not even offered a discount, just absurd full price quotes to replace my tint that I originally purchased at Car Stereo Masters which did not last, only to be quoted shameful rip off prices, compared to other tint shops. My sister got her tint job here as well and is now cloudy and bubbling. Read other reviews here and hear about their bad "lifetime warranty" experiences. Sadly and lastly, I gotta say thumbs down to this place and have to part ways to a better stereo and tint shop. read more

When in for an alarm installation, owner told me it would be a couple of hours. He also said he was going to change the door pins . At the end of the day it took 6 hours, only one door pin was changed. Only the left side of the lights turn on when I activate the alarm & I can open the passenger door and the alarm doesn't go off ???? Such a horrible experience I never went back. I have a classic 1964 Volvo 122s. I selected a vintage Retrosound radio and Kal the owner of the shop selected 4 Infinity speakers for my car. Installed a bluetooth, ipod, usb capable head unit + adapter in 1999 pathfinder on Christmas Eve, just under $200, power antenna works now, and fixed the 12V lighter on my car at no extra charge, total time 30 minutes. After installation I got a 5 minute tutorial, and they paired my phone with the unit, no issues. Mic was installed cleanly in the driver side A pillar, hardly noticeable, and very well mounted. This place is quick. Went up there today, Mike had a guy install a radio I purchased from walmart. Mike said the install would take about 1 hr. They have a decent but comfy leather chair and a 2 person leather chair that faces a TV. 25 min goes by and Mike says the install is finished. Works great! Thanks Mike! I went in to get my back up camera on my car replaced. Very friendly and as he was looking at my car he even explained what labor will be involved to get the task done so I did appreciate that. He did forget to call me back to tell me my car was complete & ready for pick up but hey, we're all human & he was busy working hard so I didn't mind. Came by with my own amp and install kit. They installed it for $50 flat. Did a really nice job. Very professional. They also have a nice leather couch to watch TV while you get your car serviced. Don't know why I took so long to leave a review. I've been here 3 times over the course of 3-4 years and have been happy every single time. Best prices around, down to earth people, and super knowledgeable. I trust them with everything. Seriously, just trust me. Only bad thing is because they're so busy it's hard to find a good time to schedule appointments. I normally just try to be there early in the morning when they open to drop off my ride. The most important thing I've found about Mike (main guy who does installs), is that he's honest. They won't try to upsell you or bullshit you on stuff you don't need. If you have components that are fine, they won't tell you it sucks and you should swap em for something that they sell. On one occasion, the 4ch amp I bought was faulty when they were installing the rest of my system, and the owner called to let me know and offer me a VERY CHEAP price on a way better, brand new JL amp. I was looking for a sleeve for my Pioneer stereo that I wanting to install myself to my car. I called the store to see if they had one in stock and I was told to come by and they would see if they had one that would fit and that it would only cost around 5 or 10 dollars. I thought that was a very fair price. Later in the day I went over to their store and they tried every available sleeve on my stereo to see if one fit. Unfortunately, the perfect match was not found however they did find one that fit almost perfectly. Since the perfect match was not available, the owner (presumably) told me I could have it for free. SCAM! Beware don't take your car in here!! Brought my car in because of a noise, Mike said it was the front and back mounts he charged $300 to "fix it". The car didn't last 24 hours before the noise was back even worse than before.. Trusted mike again and he swindled another $130 dollars to "fix" the left mount (which he said was the true cause of the noise). I picked the car up and he promised me he had "Richie the mechanic" test drive it and it sounded perfect, i was gullible enough to trust him and pay the $130. (I am clueless when it comes to cars) He told me my brakes were in excellent condition and they even cleaned them and test drove the car to make sure my car wasn't shaking. They didn't charge me anything for it. They were honest when they totally could have lied and charged me for new brakes. I will be taking all our cars here and referring anyone we know to them! I have been a long standing customer of this business and needed their services again today. My vehicle had serious electrical issues and I suspected my alarm system which they had installed maybe 10 years ago. I was met by a very friendly gentleman who immediately began troubleshooting my car. Another employee began assisting by helping with the troubleshooting and quickly found that the negative leads from my battery were at fault. I said I could change the battery terminals myself and also decided to replace my alarm with a new one which only took a few minutes. I got a good deal on a head unit and new speakers, ill give them that, but the guy who installed the speakers totally effed up my drivers side window control panel!! It's totally displaced and the screw to install it back into place is broken. The guy installing my speakers kept telling me about how he was waiting for his weed dealer to drop off some weed at the shop. Wow!!!!
