I have been coming here for over 10 years. They have installed alarms on five of my cars. You drop off the car when they open, and pick it up when they close, and it's done. You get the same alarms here that Best Buy sells, but without the corporate markup, and there isn't an 18 year old kid with no experience installing it. I had a problem with a remote in one of my cars and they replaced it for free. John and Joe are the owners and they have always been helpful. John was delighted when I told him to design my stereo which pretty much gave him free reign to do what he wanted. I've NEVER had a system that sounded like this one does. I love it. I have a 2009 Rogue that had both front speakers blown. Not sure how that happened but I had contacted John by email a while back and he offered me a fair price on a pair of Alpine Speakers which sound fine. SUV, and added the remote start as well. The way Joe explained everything to us was amazing! He gave my daughter and I different options, including a variety of price scenarios. STAY AWAY from this place!!! They CLEARLY are only interested in making money off of you and are NOT looking out for your best interests! I had them do 2 separate jobs over the past 3 years, both ended in disaster. I just paid Firestone $324 for fixing one of their mistakes. Specifically, they sold me an air horn for my Prius that shorted out three times in three years. Firestone said "If it wasn't for the cable sheathing, it would have shorted my total electrical system costing me thousands of dollars. The second job they did should have been a "no brainer", just install audio cables to hookup to my iPhone. Even THAT they screwed up three separate times and now I can't connect to my iPhone in any way without having to pay someone else! Bottom line, I wasted around $600 on easy installs that simply didn't work due to Car Tunes' sheer incompetence or indifference. Go anyplace else! Angry former customer read more

Went there today to get an estimate. I'm rating them 5 stars because the guy was knowledgeable, patient and quoted me a fair price. I went to get an automatic key starter. Came back weeks later because it wasn't working well for me. Turns out I needed a new battery for my key. They were extremely friendly and quick. Replaced my battery without charge. I'll definitely come back again. read more

Wow! What a great experience. We shopped around for a new car stereo because our original that came with the car was blown due to a bad battery jump. Changed the fuse and reset but still no good so opted for a new stereo. Went to one other place that was about $25 cheaper but John was so knowledgeable and explained everything to us that we felt better going thru them. Dropped my car off to get the stereo installed, quoted $467 and waited for the call to pick up my car. Well instead of a call to pick it up, I got a call telling me my original stereo actually works! It was just a fuse which I thought was already checked. Turns out I didn't need a new stereo after all....John could have just installed the new one and I would not have been the wiser but he didn't do that. Only charged me $75 for the fuse and labor. He saved me nearly $400. His honestly blew me away. Can't help thinking that any other company may have just went ahead and put the new stereo in. I highly recommend Car tunes and John!! I AM BEYOND MYSELF!!!! I brought in my 2016 Scion tC to get an auto start installed..I have a push to start. I also brought my subwoofer with me and asked that if they had the time if they could install that as well. (Keep in mind this is their busiest time of the season.) They had called me a little while after I dropped off my car to say that there were no auto starts made for a push to start Scion tC, but now they would use this time slot to install my subwoofer. They had mentioned they wanted to look more into the auto start for my car, but wouldn't be able to until the following Monday. I went to pick up my car at 4:30pm and they were ecstatic! They were so interested in why there was no auto start for a 2016 Scion tC with a push to start engine, so they started digging. After an hour and a half of researching, they figured out Scion didn't make many push to start vehicles, so they never made an auto start compatible for them. HOWEVER, with the determination of this team, they were able to figure out that my Scion has the same wiring as the Toyota Highlander and was able to install an auto start! I was blown away with the service, friendliness and determination of this team. I wanted to jump over the counter and give them all hugs!! 10/10 would recommend!! read more

Absolutely amazing service. I called on a monday to ask a couple questions about how i should go about building a system in my car. Their expertise in car audio is exemplary. They answered every question to the tee and was extremely accurate. I then later showed up on that Wednesday of the same way to purchase a new kenwood head unit and 2 speakers to replace the front speakers. I went in and within 20-25 minutes, I had all the equipment I need and was ready to pay and install. Install went smoothly and even when i was stuck and called car tunes for help, he kindly told me exactly what to do. Couldn't suggest a better car place to go to, and i spent countless hours researching every place on long island. I have to say that John & Co worked hard to get my car set up right. A convertible, with a Sirius radio is a challenge as roof mounted antenna is a no go. They tried a mount on the windshield cowl, mixed results. They accepted by comments and worked a modification, tried it again, not much improvement. Again, John said "bring it in, we'll make it right" - standing by their word, we did one more trip and a rear deck mounted solution did the trick. Sounds great, the head unit is terrific, and customer service was #1. read more

Great service and very professional! Had Car-tunes install a Kenwood radio with USB port in my daughters Jeep Liberty, to take the place of the old antiquated factory radio. The blu-tooth feature is what she really needed and the reception and ability of this new ken wood far outshines the old radio. I was so impressed with their service, I took my own SUV in and had Alpine 6x9 SPR speakers installed as an upgrade over the factory speakers and what a difference in audio quality for a very fair price for product and installation. Speakers come with a factory 2 year warranty. They also installed a trailer hitch for me which saved me at least $100 over the Dodge/jeep dealer price. Speaker and hitch installed in less than 90 minutes. I highly recommend Car-tunes to one and all who may be in need of an audio upgrade, for a fair and reasonable price. The facility is comfortable with lots of merchandise on display, as well as a very comfortable waiting area. read more

got a new stereo and new speakers installed, but within a week the left front speaker went out. Returned several times to get the job done right, shop owner with bad attitude kept telling me to come back another day. They finally took a look at the problem and told me their technician made a bad wiring connection, which they then fixed. Well the repair lasted another 2 weeks and the same speaker went dead again. Several more trips back and got the same poor customer service from the shop owner, each time telling me to come back another day. Finally I gave up and took a look at the job myself. I went to remove the door panel and discovered that most of the retaining clips had been broken off by their "technician" and the bottom of the door panel was flopping back and forth. Then I looked at the actual speaker wiring job, the shoddy work of an amateur. One speaker wire had fallen out of their cheap connector, and the other wire was loose as well. I re-did the wiring job myself and now have stereo sound, horray. Now I have to get some replacement door panel clips and I'll be all set. read more
