The Car Wash Palace on 35th Ave SW in W Seattle has really gone downhill!! i went there today, 6-5-2026, and hardly any soap came out - we tried 2 different stalls and both were not working properly. i wasted so many quarters! The soapy brush in the 2nd stall was in horrible shape. I won't be going back any time soon. The whole place needs a complete overhaul in the maintenance department!! read more

I went to wash my car on April 20. I used a setting at the car wash called " Tri-Foam Clear Coat Protectant " after washing my car. It came out in sticky tacky clumps that did not completely wash off. It left a sticky colored residue. I called their phone number and explained the situation. I thought the spray for the setting was broken. I asked for a reimbursement. The person that I talked to said someone would be by in 15 minutes. I waited 50 minutes and no one arrived. I called again and the person said that they would send a reimbursement through the mail. It's been over 20 days. No refund. The last two days no one has answered my calls read more

The drive up car wash station is Americas place to wash. Really it's Not a bad place to clean the road grime off your automobile but it comes at a price! I think I paid $4 for 4 minutes to spray my car down from all the fire ash on my ride. Preserving the paint job was essential business so I came through for a squirt down. I was surprised by the limited time the wash allowed you. What if I needed to actually soap up my ride? Cha Ching these folks really got you by the nozzle. My car was dirtier after I washed it! Yes, I used pre-wash, wash, tri foam, thorough rinse, and then dry cycles. $15 later and my black car had a nasty film over most of it. I tried to buff it away with a towel but no success. I had to go home and rewash my entire car to get the film off. I tried to call the posted customer service number three time and no one picked up the dang phone to help me resolve the issue. I won't be going back. read more

Car Wash Palace is a DIY car wash place. They have large bays and equipment so you can wash your own car. I like coming here because I don't have space to do this at my house and I want to avoid the scratches that you might get from a traditional car wash. This place gets pretty busy sometimes, so you might have to wait, but it isn't that bad. In the front there are stations where you can vacuum your car. I usually skip those and go straight to the washing bay. However, if there is someone at the vacuum station lined up with your bay, you should check with them to see if you can "cut" in front of them because apparently it is like a line. The machines here run on quarters or tokens (kind of like Chuck E. Cheese!). They have a machine where you can buy tokens with your credit card, which is pretty handy. They also have a vending machine where you can buy additional car wash supplies. Things can get pretty expensive if you aren't paying attention, but I just do a really quick wash when I come here. I don't think I've ever seen any employees here, but I've never really had any problems or needed anything. The other customers who come here are generally respectful and quiet. read more

Why have not one, but two credit card machines (with prominent advertising of the fact) if neither work? I've tried three times with various cards and they have never worked. You swipe and .... nothing. Very disappointing. Aside from that, it can get busy at times but the bare bones equipment usually works okay. read more

This place is horrible. Customer service is horrible. I was helping my husband clean his truck and taking out trash he had and putting it in the bin where is says "TRASH". This old white man comes out and says we can't put our trash in there?? Where it's labeled "TRASH"??! Other people were putting trash in other bins but he seemed to only have a problem with us. He claims he's the "owner" but I'm surprised he is considering how he treats clientele. He then started taking pictures of us! Never coming back here. I thought I would get a cheaper deal than at an automated car wash, given I have to do the work myself, but this place is actually easily twice the price. It's a dollar a minute (not 90 seconds), so if it takes you 20 minutes to do your car, you're out $20. My biggest issue is the blow dryer is not very strong and you have to drag it against the surface of the car at an angle, touching the car. I have an SUV and can't reach the top of the car. Also, after I was done my car was still pretty full of water droplets, but they don't offer cloths to wipe those, you need to bring your own. Brown Bear gives you white hand towels (don't love that they're super linty, but it's a lesser evil than the water marks you get if you don't wipe them off). I walked away with a bunch of extra tokens I probably won't use because there's no way to get change after you put your banknote in. read more

I wound up here because of Full Circle Farm. Allow me to explain. We just started getting produce from Full Circle farm and the first two boxes had beets in them. I see beats and I think Borscht. I made a delicious batch and kept some for leftovers. I put the leftovers in a big tupperware bowl with what turned out to not be a very tight lid. I put it in the front seat and then realized that there was a lot of dew on my windows so I grabbed a towel from the front seat which turned out to be underneath the tupperware and in slow motion I saw the tupperware bowl fly up, flip over and pour almost the whole bowl all over my front seat. This is six in the morning mind you and my front seat is oozing with thick, red, very fragrant beat soup. Not some bland, colorless vegetable, beats, the stuff that ancient cultures have used to die clothing for years. I managed to scrape up a a buck of it, and wipe it with the towel, but beats aren't the most pleasant smelling vegetable even on a good day and by the second day they weren't smelling any better. I used some upholstery cleaner but now my car smelled like an old russian kitchen and a janitors closet. So on the way home I vaguely remembered this car wash. It was pretty much where I thought it was and it had a big fancy vacuum/washer. After twenty minutes of hot foam and vaccuming my seat looked better than it had in years. The smell was still a little off so I pulled the car over to the scent mating whih had Pina Colada, Vanilla or Black Ice. Black Ice sounded like some kind of brand of methamphetamine so I opted for the Vanilla. Now my car smells like a bakery rather than my great grandmothers living room. I also went ahead and gave my poor sad old car a nice wash too. read more

I was using the vacuum station on the 35th side in January 2021. There was a vehicle in front of me in one of the wash bays. I noticed white specks getting on my windows and figured it was car wash soap blowing out of the bay to my car. It's about 20' between areas. When I washed my car a couple of weeks later, the white specks would not come off. Since the substance was blown on by wind, the entire vehicle is covered, not just the windows. The windows and black trim areas is where the white is most noticeable. I haven't tried wax but washing with car wash soap and elbow grease did not remove it from the glass or trim. Neither did windex. Does anyone who has been there have any ideas as to what it could be? Has it happened to you? Just wanted to give fair warning to people looking to use this car wash. The place is not actually closed, I just washed my car there. It was OK but really nothing special. I will say that everything worked as it is supposed to from the vacuum to the multi-function car wash brush. Maybe I would have been more impressed if I had opted to make our car scented like pineapple... but I had already spent enough money by the time I was finished. read more

It gets the job done, or rather, you get the job done. 2 stars for the all-day, all-night convenience, and that if you just want to wash off the road salt, you can get it done for 2 bucks. In terms of getting your car clean, it's not really much of a value. You only get 90 seconds for a dollar, and you wait 10 seconds to clear the lines every time you switch from "soap" to "rinse" or vice-versa. You'll spend more money here than at Costco, and at the end you are covered with water, dirt, and soap residue. But hey, at least it won't snap your antenna off or bend your front license plate like an automated car wash. read more

Three stars because everything works, it's user-friendly, and the location is convenient if you're in a bind, but the pricing here is asinine. To use the vacuum, it's $2 (in quarters or "tokens" only) and you get a whopping 4 minutes of vacuum time. Also, there's no way to get your money back after it's been converted into tokens (glad I figured that out before sticking a $20 in the machine), so make sure you go with plenty of quarters. Frankly though, you will spend just the same--if not less--at somewhere like Brown Bear and your car will be cleaner. read more

The self service car wash deals makes me feel like a spend a ton of money and it rushes me along because of the beeping timers. With that said, I continue to use them on occasion. The car wash palace has the standard few car wash stalls, vacuums and carpet cleaners. The car wash costs $1.75 for about 4 minutes while the vacuums are $1.50 for 4 minutes. There are change machines that can break $1, $5, $10 and $20. I don't know how often they replace the foaming brushes, but the one I used could have been better. It felt like I was pushing suds around with a 2x4. Which seemed to prove true once I looked over my car when it was dry (and the spots I missed). In total I spent about $6.75. read more

I've been detailing my vehicles myself since, well, since Iv'e had a car of my own. For the last few years I haven't lived anywhere with a driveway or hose to do it all myself so I've been going to self-serve places like this. They usually work great for the initial wash and vacuum then I finishing with waxing and other details at home. This is the first one I've tried since moving to W Seattle and it set the bar pretty low. Ups: -They have more options than I've typically seen when it comes to spraying down your vehicle. (Tire pre-soak, engine pre-soak, Wax, tri-foam protector, etc) -Plenty of vending machines (with towels, armor-all, etc) -Several Vacuum machines w/ mat holders Downs: -On the pricey side. $1 = 90 seconds in the washing stall. -Tokens only. And no way to turn your tokens back into real money. (Went here to save money rather than spend 20 bucks at the pink elephant. Ended up having to spend 20 anyways.) -None of soap options really seemed to work any different than the next. The pre-soaks seriously didn't make any difference. MY MAIN BEEF/ FUNNY STORY: Mind you this isn't my first rodeo with this style of car wash. Since I had 20 bucks to burn in tokens, I threw the rinse-off wax on there. I power-rinsed the hell out of it, then finished with a liberal dose of the spot-free (I had 6 minutes of time and wasn't about to use the adorable blow-dryer option). Pulled over to one of the the vacuum machines behind the main stalls. I cleaned out the cab, organized, vacuumed i brushed the side and noticed it looked weird. The wax coat had left a cloudy residue which required a pretty decent polish job to even get off. It gets EVEN better. Apparently sometime during the vacuuming process, a filter popped or there was a crack in the hose and it had been dusting my truck all over the vacuum side. Onto this tacky wax residue. I felt like I was in a Chevy Chase movie. 20 bucks and 45 minutes later, my truck actually LOOKS WORSE THAN WHEN I PULLED IN. Now its kinda funny. Anger laughs. Anyways, won't be back. This place is horrible. An incredible rip off compared to places like Brown Bear. It's cash only, time is short, vacuums have really bad suction ($2 for vacuum? Really?) it took 2 runs to fully vacuum my car ($4). Ill never use this place again. Do yourself a favor and go someplace else. read more
