I've waited a long time to write a review for this car wash. I wanted to try out this business several times before I made a judgment. I work in Wilmette and bring my employers cars to get washed here as well as my own vehicle. Overall, the quality of the work done here is average bordering on below average. Streaky windshields/mirrors, smudged exterior, debris/grime left in cup holders. They work fast which is nice but it comes at a cost. They use towels that are soaked to dry windows and leave streaks. I know the job is hard and physical labor should ALWAYS be appreciated. I don't want to blame the employees as management is just as responsible (or MORE responsible) for ensuring the systems in place lead to a high quality result. A hand car wash should take time and the result should demonstrate the effort put into to washing the vehicle. Please consider making some changes. P read more

I bring my car to ultimate wash here... it's absolutely not professional, the guys driving this car like it's their lmao. The manager/front desk guy is so rude, and even my car is not cleaned as should for this money. Absolutely not recommending this place to visit. read more

Worst quality cleaning. I did the full exterior and interior cleaning and the car inside is still not that clean, the floor mats are still dirty and all the corners are still dusty, I would've done a better job using a rag and a vacuum. I'm better off driving 30 min to the city and get good quality cleaning for less $$$ read more

O stars if i could. I am baffled by what happened today, called to book interior clean, guy was like no you need full detail, i was liike no its messy, but not crazy dirty and he hung up on me. Would not come back. Not worth the price. Windows all streaked and lot of wet spots after all over the car. No real attention to detail. Had to point out a lot. Also moved all of my car settings like chairs and had to move everything back. read more

We went here every week for 15 years (started when it was Norm's), and the customer service has always been notoriously horrible. The washes are general ok, which is why we kept going. The manager, Elvis, is plain AWFUL. No customer service acumen and he's rude and even unkind. He has run-ins with customers. The owner never called us back when we had concerns, even though we called a bunch and left multiple messages. I would definitely NOT recommend this place. read more

Last three trips, work has been lousy, didn't wash wheels, left a lot of mud on fender (that I pointed out to them when I pulled in), didn't wipe down dashboard, didn't wipe down the inner frame of the tail gate of my SUV. For $40 plus for full service, expect way better. read more

I never took my car in when it was under prior ownership. My experience was very positive with the new team. I brought in a car that hadn't been professionally washed in years (literally years). The first pass was great considering the condition of the car but I asked them to so some extra work on it (which I offered to pay for). The work was done and the owner came out with my money in hand and offered a full refund if I wasn't happy (which I refused). Not sure how the situation could have been handled better or more professionally. Really, I should have scheduled (and paid for) a full detail given the state of the car. My only suggestion would be a "filthy car" wash option that is a premium cost to a normal car wash but takes some extra time with the vehicle. read more

I see people comparing it to the previous owner "Norms", this establishment shouldn't be judged against it. However, it should be rated on its own performance. If you want to compare though, here is my opinion... Car wash tyme does have higher prices, Yes...but also has much more to offer. The time spent on my car cleaning detail was much better than it used to be. Also, they have updated their lounge area, bought new tools, have a clean epoxied garage floor to keep dust out. Overall feels good. In general, most places have raised their prices for labor because that's what our economy is demanding at the moment. For $34+tip. I was a regular at Norm's but it's since gone out of business and been replaced by this new unscrupulous business called "Car Wash Tyme" [sic]. Sloppy work for much higher prices; they don't do what they promise, management apparently doesn't care. Try the detail shop in Glenview; it's more expensive but they'll actually detail your car. read more

This is a car wash where you can enjoy a cup of coffee and watch the television while your car is washed until it shines. The employees work hard, are courteous and they make sure to satisfy every customer. I was impressed by the waiting room, clean and well arranged. horrendous service. rude. no understanding of the meaning of customer service. never going back. Apologized profusely that the key left in the car didn't work. was then told to leave. You do not understand that the life blood of your business is word of mouth. Sad fact is that the money you claim to have lost (NOT $1000 which is ridiculous since you were still washing cars just using the back entrance) I would have easily made up for with a tip the likes of which your employees have never seen before followed by glowing reviews. I got my SUV detailed at Car Wash Tyme yesterday - the old Norm's Car Wash - at 1222 Washington Court in Wilmette. I had gotten it detailed this summer, while it was still Norm's, and paid $350. I got it detailed yesterday and paid $420. The new owner raised all prices 20%. I call that price gouging. read more
