Dropped of a door shell and a hood for painting, I also supplied Mike with a quart of paint. All he…read morehad to do was to use my paint, prep and spray. I took all the responsibility for color matching. I also removed hardware from the hood and door, including handle, mirror, etc. Mike looked at the job and gave me a quote, in which I agreed without question. The job did not turn out well, painting of the door was not complete, a top section was not painted due to a partially removed molding which they did not remove. Hood had bad edges in which the paint was flaking, final sanding and polishing of the hood was horrible, you could see all the sanding marks. I brought the door and hood back and Mike and he agreed to redo it. I thought that all was good at this time, this all changed when I picked up the parts the following week. Mike removed the trim on the door as he should have done it the first time, but he did not reinstall it as he should, claiming that he is not a "restoration shop" and he does not like to take in business with people that watch YouTube. He then continued with a total melt down and I left the shop feeling confused. I never forced him to take this simple job, I did not tell him how much I wanted to pay and I did not expect to be yelled at by a lunatic when I returned to pick up my parts. So, if you are looking for a professional paint shop and expect to be treated fairly, this is not the place for you. In my opinion, maybe after 40 years of painting, Mike just inhaled way too much paint fumes. I can go on, but you get the picture...

I filled out the form with financial limit of $1000, left key and form in the overnight mailbox repair authorization. Said the car was ready Friday, I came to P/U Monday, car wasn't ready. Told to come back Tuesday, Tuesday waited 3 hours. The bill was $3843.70. I drove the car 68.2 miles and it overheated on June 30. When I called Jeff to have it towed in again he said we would 'work it out' the tow. He told me they needed at least two weeks before working on it. Since this was a 're-do' of previous repair, I believe the better business practice would be to schedule my job ahead of others. The second tow and repair involved hoses (which weren't needed the first repair), and a second anti freeze fill, and a thermostat housing etc.... again, which would not have been necessary had the first repair fully and properly fixed the overheating issue. I asked Jeff to have all the replaced parts saved. On July 29, I picked up the car (30 days in service the second time) asked for the parts and Jeff said Frank, the mechanic couldn't find the parts. This bill 527.17 and again no parts returned. No car for a total of 38 days. Jeff response "I don't break them, I fix them" - and "I won't be working on this car again" - and "I'm not paying for the tow".

I was accepted this past year to show my 2008 Bullitt Mustang at the Muscle Car and Corvette…read moreNationals (MCACN) held in Rosemont 11/17/18 - 11/18/18. MCACN is the world's largest all indoor car show devoted to muscle cars, dealer-built supercars and Corvettes. There were cars on display valued from $7,000 to $6,000,000. They had attendees from 40 states, and several countries with the furthest attendee bringing their car from Australia. 30,000 + attendees were there to view the cars on display. Knowing how strict the judging was going to be, I recalled meeting Frank the owner of Luminescent Detailing at a local car show in Gurnee. He impressed me with his car and knowledge of auto detailing. I called Frank and informed him of the upcoming MCACN show and although I felt my car was in great shape, I needed to take it to the next level to score well in the show. Although Frank's team was very busy he made the time to detail my Bullitt. I asked that he address the exterior finish, interior, engine compartment and undercarriage. After I dropped the car off, Frank immediately called to inform me of several imperfections in the finish that needed to be cared for to restore it to show quality finish. This kind of attention and honesty is why Luminescence Detailing is the best place for professional finish services in the Chicagoland area. When I met Frank the Friday of the show, the Bullitt looked better than it did on the original showroom floor. It has been transformed into a masterpiece and it gave me the confidence going in to the MCACN show that we would be displaying a winner. After we unloaded the car and the Bullitt was staged, I noticed a few scratches in the jewelry store lights that could cost in point deductions. I called Frank for advice on how to rectify the issues and he did not hesitate in stating he would be right over to take care of this for me. After Frank did his magic the scratches were removed, and the Bullitt was perfect even under the bright lights. This caliper of service is rare and a testament to how Frank treats all his customers by providing detailing services to the highest level of perfection. On that Saturday, the MCACN judge took 45 minutes to inspect the our Bullitt and we earned the top award which was a Blue-Ribbon Award with a score of 998 out of possible 1000 in the Street Stock Modified division. The exterior, interior and engine compartment scored 775 out of 775. The 2 points deducted with the undercarriage for an oxidized brake line and a tiny scratch under bumper which I think occurred during loading or unloading. This MCACN Blue Ribbon award would not have been possible without the excellent work by the Luminescent Detailing team and Frank. I plan to bring Frank my 2003 Mach 1 Mustang to work his magic on this spring as I prepare it for the 2019 MCACN show.
