I asked for an oil change and when i came back they pulled out my air filter and said there was an animal nest in it and showed it to me. it was not an animal nest, there was absolutely no damage to the air filter involving animals biting on it and what they showed me was literally lent from a dryer. i dont trust them one bit. Everything from the phone call, to scheduling to the first appoint was flawless. My 02 Chevy Silverado had been sitting for a week or so and when I tried to start it, it wouldn't cooperate. We tried a few things with no luck. A friend recommended Car X in Alexandria, so I called and spoke to Tim. He said they could look at it the next day, so I had it towed there just before they closed that night. Tim said he would call me the next day after they gave it a once over. Tim and the guys tried to start the vehicle before pushing it in the shop and it fired right up!? Tim stated that they were going to run some diagnostics to make sure it wasn't going to be a recurring problem. They did and everything checked out alright. I came to pick it up later that day and was told there was NO CHARGE !! Hopefully I won't have any more issues with the truck, but if I do I know where I'm going to take it and you should do the same. Tim is definitely the guy to see! read more

This is a really late review because I just got a yelp account. Went in for just a routine oil change a little less than a year ago and they completely ripped me off. I called in and they told me $19.99 for an oil change. I got there and they advertised on their windows $19.99 for an oil change. I get my bill and it's $35. His reasoning? They had to use an premium oil that was "a penny more" for my car, which it has never needed, and they "topped off my fluids for me" which I didn't need. Neither of which they even asked my permission for. Normally I would have thrown a fit and refused to pay for services I did not ask for/approve of. For some reason I guess I was in a good mood that day and didn't dispute, but I am still bitter to this day that I didn't. They took advantage of the fact I was female and thought I was stupid about cars, hoping they could get away with charging me more and I just let them even though I knew the charges were unnecessary. Will never be back to this shop or any car-x again unless it is absolutely a last resort. read more
