These guys are the best! On my way to work today I hit a pothole and my tire was quickly losing air, so I stopped by. They took a look at it and found that I had bent my rim. While they were unable to fix the issue, they put my spare tire on and gave me guidance for next steps to take. They didn't even charge me for the service! I would 100% recommend Car-X to anyone. Came to Car-X for a new set of tires. Was met by Patrick who got my car in immediately. The customer service here was great. They have coffee and a tv as well as a bathroom if you have to wait there as I did. They checked my alignment after putting on the tires and found that it was just slightly off but they helped me out and corrected it for free. I brought my subaru 2.5i hatchback in to car-x just after purchasing it. They performed a complete inspection with detailed notes. Furthermore, I had to do some additional work that involved troubleshooting a p420 code and after not having luck on my own, I brought it in and their technician, Ernie, correctly diagnosed the code. There are many things that can cause a p420, and in my case we had to actually replace the catalytic converter. Ernie did an excellent job and after talking to him about a misfire (didn't generate a consistent CEL), he recommended we change spark plugs and it turns out that was the issue. Nothing but great things to say about Ernie. It's a shame the store manager, Mike, left as he was very helpful and gave me good, reasonable prices on all the work that was done. Ernie is an excellent technician and I will continue to bring my cars there until he goes elsewhere. read more

I sent my son over to get an oil change tire rotation and wiper blades replaced it took over three hours Ridiculous they never said that it would take longer , I just had this service done at NTB and was in and out in 30 minutes They should give you a heads up prior to starting the work . I originally went to this location to get a second opinion on some major work another mechanic claimed that I needed. After talking with "John" the manager who gave me a completely transparent view of the problem with my vehicle. It turns out that for a third of the cost John and his team took care of the issue and had my car running like new. They also provided additional services to make sure the job was done correctly at no extra cost to me. I was so happy and satisfied with the work that John and his team provided I will always take my vehicles to him for servicing. If you want a mechanic who is honest, transparent, and fair let John and his team get your car back on the road!!! I was buying a used Honda CR-V and called several nearby auto repair shops from the auto dealership. It was a busy Friday for all of the shops I called (day after Thanksgiving). Mark Russell at this Car-X was able to get me in and thoroughly check the SUV. He found the power-steering fluid needed changing and we decided to have them do it since the SUV was otherwise clean and ready to buy. He confirmed that the rear brakes and rotors had been changed. We did not have to be there for a long time and we were able to buy the car with confidence. We appreciate his prompt, courteous service. I spoke with Brett who was great and very knowledgable. While working on my car, I asked if they had bottled water and he got one for me. They did the work requested, but about a week later one of my tires was showing to be 5-6 pounds of pressure off from the other three. I called and left a message. The next day John called me back and seemed upset I left a message when they were closed. Regardless, I explained the problem (which was not an issue before they serviced my tires) and was told they cannot find anything wrong with the tire (no puncture or hole). He offered to service the tire to find the leak for $24.99 claiming nothing they did could have caused it, which I declined. They also did not reset my tire pressure sensors when they replaced my tires which also went unresolved. Very disappointed. Car issues frustrate me because of my busy schedule. I would not recommend this shop. read more

If you want your car diagnosed by somebody you can trust, this is the place. I've tested mechanics before by taking my car in for service when I already knew exactly what the problem was, and I've had several places try to up-sell me (often in ridiculous fashion), but Steve has ALWAYS been honest and conservative in his estimates, and he absolutely stands behind the quality of his work. I started going to CarX after I was tired of getting sub par service at inflated prices from other local car shops. Not only did they fix my urgent repair but they put together a comprehensive plan for what would need to be done to help my car run at its best. Countless oil changes, tire rotations and the occasional repair later I have spent only a fraction of what I would've spent at other shops that would've just looked at me like a dollar sign and treated be like some dumb girl that doesn't know anything about cars. The guys that work here are also very genuine and upfront and attentive. Not only are they always happy to see you but they usually remember what you did and what you need done to your car without looking in the computer. They know that I drive a lot and I often drive a little crazy at times so they know the things to look for to make sure my car is prepared for my driving. The owner Mark has gone above and beyond to not only make sure my car is safe but to make sure I am in the know about the repairs and the time and money it will cost so that I can plan my day and budget around what needs done. I had an oil change done in late October. In addition to charging me an extra $10 after I previously bought the oil change in a packaged deal, I was in for quite the shock. While changing the oil, the mechanic tells me that my breaks have about 20% left and are going quickly. He mentioned the rotors were all rusty also and recommended I pay for them too but it does not have to be done immediately (I asked). I decided to hold off as I felt that was odd that he was saying this being that my 2011 Ford Escape showed no signs of going bad. Still I decided to check it myself. Looked ok to me but I am not a car expert so waited a few weeks and did not drive it much. I checked a few prices at places the last couple weeks, including Car X and the average price was $300. Car X charged $500 and included 3 oil changes (to be clear, 3 oil changes for $200 after the breaks). Feeling that was still odd, I decided to check out a few other places. Today I went to another specialist who in addition to letting me look at the brakes and rotors explained and showed me why I had a good 50% of break life left (I will not add the other place as this review is not about them). The business showed me a little rust on the rotors but it was barely there and would not negatively impact the car. I paid nothing and received honest service. If I had done business with the company I went to today, it would have cost $200 less the Car X. In short, Car X lied. I've heard rumors about them doing this to people in the community but assumed it was just a couple isolated experiences, it helps when there is never a line there which gives an illusion that I will get out quickly. read more

My first experience with Bill resulted in a substantial savings from what others had quoted me for the same repairs. He was upfront, honest and provided money saving options for one's decision. Further, he was able to work my car in for service so that I would not be inconvenienced in trying to find a ride to and from work the next day. Beware, I brought my car here to find out what was wrong with rear brakes. I was told that I needed new rotors , calipers, pads, $900. I thought that was a lot of money just for rear brakes, so i took my car to Casey's, they said that my calipers were not sliding right and that they could fix it for $70.00. read more

Overpriced! I brought my car in to get front brakes done. They wanted to charge almost $500 for pads and rotors. The sign in front said "Best Brake Price Guarantee" but I was able to get same service done elsewhere in town for over $100 less with same level of guarantee. They acted like they were going to do me a favor by working on my car. I don't want to negotiate the cost of auto service. I just want the place to be honest and fair. read more

BEWARE, My son brought his car in for some front end work after hitting a curb, While this car is less than perfect and not worth the money I put into fixing the car, (1900) The car needed a control arm and tire and various other repairs. After getting the car back there was a clunking noise and the tire was "toed" out. After returning the car to have them inspect it - "more work was required" to get it driving safely. 2500$ more work! If they were upfront and honest about the work that was required to get it running safely I would NOT have wasted my hard earned money getting it fixed. BEWARE read more
