Things haven't been the same at this Car-X since Derrick been gone. Service has been horrible and prices has increased by a lot.

I went to Car-X in Granite City on nameoki Road because I have used them many times in the past. On this trip I had a blown brake line and I needed repair ASAP . I went in and got my estimate and it was $843 . I went to Midas in Granite City to get a second estimate and it turns out, it was 231 for the same service. So I been having a bad week paid hundreds to get the front end of my car redone just to find out they didn't even do the left side of my car right. Found out my break line was not secured and that several of my parts was not properly tightened on my car. So basically I could've killed myself or somebody else because they didn't do their job right. The staff at CarX did me a wheel alignment and helped tighten up the parts that wasn't properly tightened. The customer service was exquisite and their bathroom/establishment was spotless. On a Saturday afternoon I needed a valve stem replaced on one of my truck tires. We stopped by this CarX and waited in line. Once at the counter we were greeted by Derrick who had a big smile and kind greeting. I had observed his genuine customer service with other customers as we waited in the line. Without an appointment we were hopeful that he could get a valve stem replaced by close of business that day. Without hesitation Derrick said, "give me 30 minutes". With a lobby full of people and his bays full of cars he worked in our vehicle and had it completed as stated. I have interacted with Derrick in past scenarios and I have never been disappointed. I am now wondering why I don't use him for my general maintenance instead of doing it myself. He makes auto issues seem like no big deal. Went to car ex to fix a abs issue and while they were at it change the the low beam light on our car they didn't fix the head light we ended up changing it ourselves and the main issue only the got worst . Been there four times now in just two days and the said they look at free of charge well the found that it was the left rear sensor so they said the fixed it nope ran cards again we got a code for the left rear sensor and a can bus communication error read more

So me being a female my boyfriend asked me to take his car to get a oil change he was not in the system so Derrick helped me put my boyfriends name in the system not only did Matt give me a old change Matt gave me a inspection they checked out all my tires and this was part of the oil change it really wasn't part of the oil change but Matt went beyond to make sure my car was safe for me to drive and if it wasn't he wanted me to be aware of anything I needed to get fixed I truly appreciate that because anybody I went to before when I got my oil change didn't do that for me so I like them so much that I just purchased a vehicle and I brought it up there personally to get the oil change from Matt and Derrick not only did Matt also give me a oil change he topped my fluids and he showed me everything that was wrong with my new car and I really appreciate them taking me to the car and actually showing me the issues that was pretty neat especially since I had no clue what Matt was saying lol I definitely had a idea after he showed me while we talked about the problem thanks again Matt ! I went in for a front end alignment only. I was told after an hour and a half that they would not perform this service until I had new tires and new brakes and rotors. I agreed to the brakes and rotors because of the story Brian gave me. 3 1/2 hours and $208 later I leave the shop and find my vehicle is making a horrible grinding sound and immediately return to the shop to have them fix their mistake. Later in the evening I start to leave my house and my headlights didn't work. After calling the store Brian informs me they ran my battery dead and had to jump it. By running the battery dead and jumping it they have caused problems with my memory fuse resulting in no headlights. This shop is a joke and I am disgusted at the customer service or lack thereof of this place. I am a business manager and if my employees worked like those at Granite City car X I would not have a business. I have called the # I was given to the administration office and of course no response. Thanks for ruining my vehicle. read more
