My daughter, who…read morealready struggles with anxiety, was mocked and belittled by Dr. Frey for expressing fear and discomfort during her orthodontic care. At our last visit, the doctor sarcastically asked me, "Is she going to cry today?" and then proceeded to yell at me in front of staff, accusing us of being disrespectful and acting as though we didn't take her dental health seriously. We've followed every recommendation he gave--including surgical procedures, medication evaluation, and oral hygiene best you can with a 10 year old--and yet we were treated with complete disrespect. His tone was condescending, cruel, and completely inappropriate, especially toward a child. I was continuously criticized and humiliated for the duration of the visit, like a punching bag while my child got her braces tightened. We will never return. If your child has any kind of medical or emotional sensitivity, I strongly urge you to look elsewhere. What makes the situation worse is that there has been no accountability or apology for this behavior. The only response has been that there will be no reimbursement. The lack of ownership from a professional in a position of trust is deeply concerning. The complete lack of professionalism or empathy is unacceptable for anyone in healthcare. Based on our experience, Dr. Daniel Frey should not be working with children or in a caregiving role.
