They told me I would need to schedule 2 separate appointments because of her age and it "wasn't safe" to numb both sides of her mouth in one visit. She went today for the first visit and apparently the dentist decided to just get them both taken care of at the same time. When his assistant brought my daughter out to the waiting room she said "just keep an eye on her if she eats because her face is still numb". No word about having both filled. My daughter told me she felt that they filled both sides. My daughter said the dentist mentioned she would need a root canal. No one mentioned any of this to me. I have been going to this practice for a few years and always felt comfortable and informed. Today was not handled appropriately and I will be looking for a new practice moving forward.

Due to recessed gums, I needed resin to be placed to fill in the space on two teeth. He filled them in and the color didn't even match my teeth. Thank God the teeth were on the side of my mouth so you really can't see them. Each tooth is now two different colors. With that, he didn't even smooth the resin. He just put the clumps of resin on the teeth and sent me on my way. I had to go to my new dentist and have them smooth it out for me. I heard that some dentists are cheap so they only buy a couple of shades of the resin and they use the one closest to your tooth color. I think all he cares about is making money. Definitely does not care about patients.

To preface, this is my first time writing a review, let alone a negative one! After being a patient…read morehere for over three years, I'm done. Suburban Dental sells faulty products and is an unaccommodating cash grab. The office manager will not get on the phone to speak with me, despite making unreasonable financial decisions. Additionally, they provided incorrect information regarding my insurance coverage, argued with me and then dismissed me when I tried to explain that my insurance provided partial coverage--then required that I pay in full. As a sanity check, I called my insurance provider for a second time to confirm coverage, and then called Suburban Dental the following day to explain that I was creating a claim. The office manager then offered to create a claim for me. Their procedures do not make any sense; why did I have to go through all of this trouble to begin with?   To explain why I say 'faulty products': I've purchased three different retainers--not because I just adore retail therapy--but because they kept partially cracking upon removing them. Their retainers are a very delicate, thin piece of plastic that I am very careful with removing. I even asked their hygienists to show me how to properly take them out to prevent breakage. However, within approximately 3 years of owning them, the bottom retainer broke after having it for ~1.5 years, and the top retainer broke after ~2.5 years. As a comparison, I had a previous retainer from a different dentist that lasted over 10+ years and never had any issues.   To explain why I say 'cash grab' and 'unaccommodating': The first time my retainer cracked, I was charged full price ($225) and was 'conveniently' informed afterwards that I could have brought in the molds from when they first created them and only been charged a 'discount' of $125. Considering the fact that they created my retainer, had my molds on file and knew I was unaware of this perk, it seems this was a way to take advantage of a patient. Recently, my top retainer broke and I relayed this information to a receptionist who tried to plea my issue to the office manager, who refused to speak with me on the phone. Despite initially overcharging me and distributing a faulty product, I was told I'd have to pay another $125 for a top retainer. I feel that because both retainers cracked the same way within such a short period of time from simply removing them, they should've been accommodated for. For the $450 price point (I am now investing $800 into retainers), the quality of the products combined with the lack of professionalism and accountability from this management is unacceptable and arguably exploitative.     This practice clearly refuses to provide ethical, quality care to their patients. I'll be finding a different dentist, and I hope this message prevents others from wasting their time and money!

It's not. i was going to a different dentist, in Emmaus, PA, where the oral hygienist essentially tortured me (I even have an injury on the root of a tooth from their hostile scaling technique, though there's no hope of getting their admission of it). I started scaling my own teeth to reduce this feeling of being brutalized at semiannual cleanings, and it made no difference at all. At Antonis' office, I said "Wow, you barely did anything with the hook". The hygienist admitted "you basically did all the work". This taught me that my other hygienist was not doing anything sensible and had only been scraping mindlessly. I'll never go back to them, but I WOULD go back to Antonis' people. I told the receptionists how impressed I was with the gentleness of Antonis' hygienists. The one receptionist said "Oh I know, I love them here!" She then told an oral hygienist anecdote of her own, from her own prior dentist. When she somewhat shyly complained about her hygienist, to the receptionist at her old dental office, the dentist happened to be within hearing distance and said "What? She's been warned before about that" and the dentist walked back and fired the woman on the spot. So let this be a lesson to you: if you're putting up with an oral hygienist abusing your mouth during cleanings, this is NOT normal. Try the hygienists at Mark Antonis' office. I had two different ones and both were gentle. Note, this was circa 2006. I don't know if the same hygienists are there today.

I had a very bad experience recently. They sent a text to my husband, who did not have an…read moreappointment, to update my son's and my records. I used my husbands phone to sign the HIPPA forms. Upon arrival the receptionist said that I had to put all of our personal information, insurance info and and medical information into their new portal since they had a new computer system and texted links to me to do it separately for myself and my son. I said that I wished that they would transfer the information from there old system and she said yes, me too. I told her when I was having trouble with the with the portal and she just looked at me. While I was sitting in the waiting room entering information I heard a hygienist come to look for us and the receptionist told her that we cannot go back until I finish entering the portal. While this was going on another patient came in with another person and was in the waiting room cursing including using the F word. Then the receptionist addressed him by his first name and told him he could go back, which led me to believe that she knew him. No, hey sorry about the language, etc. Not a good environment when you have a child/children with you. When we went back to the exam room the hygienist said that the dentist would exam my teeth before she cleaned them and he did; which doesn't seem like a thorough exam to me but it seemed that he was planning to leave for the evening. When the hygienist asked to re-schedule us, I told her that I didn't think that we'd be back. When she asked why, I said that I would include it in my survey response since they normally send a link after appointments. I did mention to bad environment in the waiting room for children and she responded that it wasn't an employee but a patient. I would be apologizing if it was one of my customers but I guess that the medical / dental industry handles things differently. Any-who, I guess they didn't want the feedback since for the first time I did not receive a text with a link to a survey. There has been a lot of turn-over with the hygienist and front office employees since Dr. Wolfe has retired and the service is not the same.

They were all so tiny that fillings are completely unnecessary and wouldn't get worse as long as I improved my dental care. Also, my hygienist at Wolfe Dental was sweet, however the doctor was not. She did not introduce herself to me and did not even tell me I had any cavities until I received my treatment plan and saw it myself.
