Called in to order first time from there. Someone answered decently fast. Polite staff. Food quality is ok. I felt the pizza crust was good, cooked well. The cheese tasted a little plastic and fell rifjr off the pizza. Cut into squares but overall was decent. I ordered pasta there to try, their chicken Alfredo. Sadly to say pretty disappointing. For $10.00 the portion was pretty small for that price and extremely bland with not much flavor. Not much sauce and definitely not worth the money. Something happened to this once very fine pizzeria. Last night was my final pizza purchase from this place. Given how expensive pizza has become I won't settle for sub-par anymore and that's what this Carbones is. The large takeout last night had undercooked crust that had the flavor of a bag of all-purpose baking flour. The two toppings I ordered were very limited in quantity and flavor. The cheese and sauce were also lacking. This was a similar experience of my two previous recent orders as well. It took me years to accept the concept that the very thin crust pizza, Cut into little squares (come on really, pizza is suppose to be cut into "Slices"), was a standard Minnesota offering at many non-national chains and at Bars. Seems from most of my travels if you want thin crust you have to specially order it that way. In the upper mid west you typically have to special order anything other than Thin Crust, from these local Staples such as Carbone's. The one thing that is great about Carbone's pizza is the great flavors that comes from all the other ingredients outside of the crust. The home made signature sauce and sometimes surprising ingredients and toppings make for a wonderful tongue tingling palette. I recommend the "Garbage" pizza , which has Green Olives, Black Olives, Green Peppers, Mushrooms, Onions, Canadian Bacon, Sausage, Pepperoni, and plenty of cheese. Also you can never go wrong with a Hot Sandwich. Most of Carbone's are small family run restaurants, this particular one has six booths for seating and can be fairly cramped for dining in. The majority of business here is Take-Out and Delivery, so the small seating area is not really an issue. So if you still have not given these Minnesota pizza staples a chance, I really would recommend giving them a shot just don't think of it as you normal NY Slice, think of it as more of a specialty. read more

I dont know if we just had a bad experience, but we were definitely not impressed with our first Carbones experience. The menu is pretty limited, but as long as they do things right, that's okay. We ordered a pizza, boneless wings, and some brownie bites. The pizza was soggy and floppy. The seasonings on the crust and whatnot were good but the texture just wasn't great. The bbqs wings had a decent flavor but were super dry. Maybe they're supposed to be that way, but I like some sauce on my wings, or at least something to dip them in. The brownie bites seemed to be those little brownie discs you can find in the grocery store that were then sprinkled with powdered sugar and thrown in a fridge. The online ordering and broken links with basically no descriptions. Prices were high for the quality of what you got. It's basically cheap pizza at a premium price. I would rather have dominos or papa John's, as even their pizza is higher quality. read more

Just had my husband pick up an order of three items. I ordered the garlic cheese bread, spaghetti & meatballs and a whole ham hoagie. I said garlic cheese bread three times, yet was given just garlic bread. Everything was cold. Very cold. If I wanted a frozen dinner, I'd have made a TV dinner. Do better!! So I just finished my spaghetti and garlic toast, I didn't know you get toast when you order pasta! Oh well, it was still all extremely cheap! 20 dollars and I bought spaghetti, 2 garlic bread, cheesecake bites, and a 2 liter! Received it much faster than 50-60 minutes, I was shocked. I'm so excited about the cheesecake bites! The noodles in my spaghetti were a little stale, but otherwise everything else was awesome! Thank you guys! Like waiting extra time for your food? Happens every time you order here...why not wait an extra 15 minutes when they tell you an earlier time. Not bad food, but not good wait. After my son's soccer game tonight, our whole family was starving! My son told us he wanted pizza early in the day, so we saved our calories so we could splurge them here. We had a bit of trouble finding a parking spot, but once we did we headed inside. We had to wait nearly 5 minutes to get seated, which was over the top ridiculous. My son had just come back from a game and needed to eat! We finally got a table, but there was a piece of gum underneath. Besides the gum and a particularly dirty spot near the entrance, the establishment was pretty clean. The salad I ordered was average, but my husband seemed to like it. I was concerned about your how organic and Non-GMO the ingredients were, but I managed to scarf down a few "slices", although they were cut like squares. However, it put a smile on my little son's face so that made all those calories and grease worth it! The staff was pretty friendly, and I can't say I hated the place. My son seemed to like the way it was sport-oriented, though. I would recommend if you're looking for a friendly staff, however there are definitely better places to eat. read more
