Red's Savoy has been my absolute favorite pizza in Minnesote for decades. The old 7th Street location is sorely missed, but I remain grateful the recipes and talented staff are still building the best. And if you haven't tried my absolute favorite pie and have enough chutzpah to give it a whirl, I strongly suggest a saurkraut and sausage pie. It may sound bizarre, but I assure you, the well drained kraut in the basecoat of the dough adds a layer of flavor you will likely not be able to identify, or live without once you give it a try. It may not be prominent on the menu, but ask for it. You will thank me. read more

Sauce and crust are atrocious, barely edible. Crust is not crispy, it's thin and weirdly chewy like if you were trying to eat cardboard or something. The cheeseburger pizza was super bland had zero seasoning. The garlic bread didn't taste like there was any garlic added. Was just burnt cheese toast with their awful sauce. I do not understand any rating above two stars for this place. Frozen pizza is better. Don't waste your money on this expensive barely edible pizza. read more

Pizza and pizza fries were good per usual, but I'm very disappointed that they got rid of their alfredo. I would actually crave it I liked it that much. I tried their Mac n cheese this time and it's a great portion for ten dollars, but honestly it was almost too much cheese and I LOVE cheese. It's basically noodles and melted shredded cheese. Long story short go here for good pizza not for the Mac n cheese and please if you are reading this as the owner please please consider getting back the Alfredo. read more

So I go in to order pizza for 7 people. Naturally I get 4 pizzas to feed everyone having my total come to almost $80.00. She comes to deliver it and i sign the receipt just not thinking cause im in a hurry and in the middle of something. She takes and looks at me, very rudly and says are you really not going to give me a tip? Frustrated even more I give her a few more dollars and she storms off... then I look at my pizza and bread and its burt! Not a little burnt im talking black all over, hard as a brick, not edible burnt! I call back and tell them its not edible and very rude AGAIN says they want all their pizza back before they will make new and in addition it will be over an hour before we get any new. What a travesty. I don't know if I blame the franchisee or Red himself for letting them ruin his good name. A little of both maybe. This was not even reminiscent of the Original Red's Savoy Pizza. Sauce was different. Cheese was different. Crust was different. Sausage and Pepp were different. If you're gonna change something, at least try to make it better or on par with the original. This was not. It was a mediocre to ok pizza, but compared to the original, it was terrible. The amount of toppings and cheese was laughable. Maybe I'm wrong expecting it to be the same, but if the name on the sign says Red's Savoy Pizza, that's what I expect. Otherwise, change it to "Kinda Ok Pizza Joint". I would never order here again, it's worth the extra 15 minutes to go downtown. If you're looking for much better pizza in the area, try the Pizza Man across the 694 bridge. read more

We just moved into the area and needed some pizza to thank our helpers for carrying all the heavy stuff we own. I grew up eating Savoy on W. 7th and figured I'd give this a shot. I knew it couldn't be as good, but I hoped it'd be decent. I was pleasantly surprised! While not quite the original, it was a pretty good representation and we devoured the whole thing. It's close enough that when I need some Savoy I won't have to drive downtown any longer. $16+ for a large pizza with 1.5 toppings (my SIL doesn't eat green olives, whatever). The person on the phone assured me that by ordering one large instead of 2 medium, I'd get the same amount of pizza but spend less so I went for it though I was skeptical. Well, I wouldn' t say it was the same amount of pizza and 4 of us ate it all and probably could have eaten a little more. Oh well, lesson learned. read more

Edible, but not great. 2.5 stars While Savoy-ish in appearance, with lots of cheese and sauce, the similarities were only skin deep. The sausage was surprisingly bland, the cheese was apparently of the low sodium variety, and the all-important grease factor was nowhere to be found. It just lacked flavor overall, except for... The sauce. One thing I love about the original Savoy is that their sauce isn't watered down for the kiddies or the MN Nice crowd. Unfortunately, this location missed the mark; it just tasted like plain, tart tomato paste with a dab of sauce thrown in to make it spreadable. No spices, no depth, no nothing. So the pizza ended up with a bitter flavor that got old fast. Maybe someone didn't follow the recipe on that batch. The crust was similar to the original, which is to say that it's a neutral platform for gobs of cheese and gets the job done. If this pizza didn't have the Savoy name on it, I might cut it more slack, but it wasn't even remotely close. Still, I'd give them another shot because maybe it was an off day. read more

Good thin crust pizza with quality ingredients. Try the homemade sausage, for sure. The cheese is plentiful and stringy. Why anyone would order Pizza Hut or Domino's with this place in your neighborhood is beyond me. Delivery is fairly quick and pleasant. read more

I stopped by to get a pizza. I do not get here very often. If I would have studied the menu more closely, I could have saved some $$$. They were near the end of the Lunch Slices and I did not even notice. I could have gotten a large for $1.00 more then the regular I ordered. And had pizza for 3 days instead of 2. It is a great pizza.. Seemed to be comparable to the Original on 7th st, but it has been years since I was there. I got a house special. The sausage I really like. Spicy, but not overly so. Nice chunky style and enough to satisfy me. And the cheese was plentiful to. I prefer black olives vs the green olives. But the green olives did not ruin this pizza. A 10 inch pizza is some times considered a personal pizza. This pizza I was able to eat only half. Makes for decent lunch tomorrow.. All in all, it was a great pizza. Just a little bit out of my comfort zone on pricing. But still worth it, once in a while... read more

Nothing like the original Savoys on 7th street, so sad they closed. Our second back up Savoys is on white bear ave but are closed on Mondays. So it was our first time trying This location and sadly disappointed. The pizza tastes nothing like Savoys, the cheese was not even cooked on top and was way undercooked. I love Savoy Pizza, have been eating it for years. This location has been a disappointment every time. I myself will never go back. I gave it 4 tries. This last time I ordered my food on the website. A bit later received a call stating they were closed. After 5 days I called wondering where my refund was. I got a VERY dis-genuine apology , and was told to be patient. It has been 7 day's now. We are talking about $37, which I think is insane in itself. I highly recommend finding another place to eat. read more

We are so disappointed in what this place has become. In the past year we received a burnt pizza and poor service. Wanting to give them another try, we ordered again tonight. After all everyone has a bad day, right? Apparently, it's more than a day. I ordered online, and it was communicated that I would receive the order in 45-60 minutes. 1 hour and 20 minutes later, I call to find out what happened. I was told the order was in route. No apology given. I wait 20 more minutes (1 hour and 40 minutes later). A woman answers the phone and identifies herself as a manager. She apologizes and said it was the on its way. Having lost my trust, I push wanting to know a specific time. She puts me on hold and another guy answers who also identifies himself as a manager. At this point, it's clear the pizza is not on its way. I tell them I want to cancel and the guy, "Manager #2", says "OK, bye," and hangs up without confirming my credit card will not be charged. My husband calls and we essentially get no where. He gets hung up on as well. So sad that customer service is not a priority and the Reds brand is getting dragged in the mud. read more

I like the original Savoys, had to try it out. Had a free large 1 topping pizza coupon and had to order $10 more to get delivery, that's fine with me. I ordered another specialty pizza and a 2 liter of coke. The total with tax was still almost $29, the free pizza is worth $14 so that in reality is a $43 pizza order. It showed up and BOTH pizzas were totally destroyed, driver must have dropped, slammed on the brakes or carried under her arms like a book. Well we sent them back and when the driver returned we got new pizzas and a order of bread and the whole thing was on the house. Very impressive, I was willing to pay for the original order. I kinda feel bad since this cost them a lot they lost at least $60 in profit. So was kinda put off at first but the final outcome was worth the wait. Pizza and bread were good. nothing like Savoy on White Bear Ave. when i picked up the large special with the works i thought they gave me an empty box. the pizza had a strange taste of broccoli though there was none it. i think it had 3 pieces of sausage and the pepperoni was no where to be found either. cheese was so sparse a fourth of the pizza was red sauce only. not worth 20 bucks. That Savoy would have NEVER served what were dubbed pizza fries with some vegetable oil tasting product to my table. They were indistinguishable from those you might get from a Papa Johns type order. I'm in town on business and a colleague perked up when they saw a Red Savoy Pizza across from the hotel. Thought I'd try it... Yikes. Prefabricated crust? While the sauce did have some zip to it, that crust comes through in every bite and it's like you're eating a frozen pizza. The price is right, I suppose, for what you get and the staff is relatively friendly. I tried a dessert pizza and THAT was quite tasty, even on the same prefab crust. Just disappointed that I could have gotten a more "homemade" pizza from a national chain. Would not buy again, except for dessert. read more
