I'm disappointed it took so long for me to eat here. Truly a crime of depriving myself of one of the coolest restaurants with amazing staff, delicious food, and a thoughtful menu that is not overloaded with unnecessary items. I encourage readers to look past a few things.... - First the restaurant is attached to a grocery store. It wasn't a distraction or issue to us. You wouldn't be able to tell if you're eating inside or even on the patio. - Second the menu is not huge. You're not going to find countless pasta dishes, chicken parmigiana, mozzarella sticks, chicken fingers, and so on. Personally I was more than happy with less options that are all done well. - Lastly the prices. Like anyone I looked up the menu beforehand and wondered why a deep dish pizza was in the $25 range. While some restaurants charge more to adjust for inflation, Pizzeria Pezzo stands behind their prices through their homemade food with simple, high quality ingredients. Now the things I encourage readers to look directly at... - The meatball appetizer. I ate them too quickly, resulting in a bad picture. Comes with focaccia and a salad large enough to split. Definitely order if you appreciate this type of thing. - Both the deep dish and coal fire pizza. We only tried deep dish, but our eyes wandered to nearby tables dining on the crispy thin. I can't imagine a world where it isn't great like the deep dish, but will confirm when I go back. - Cannolis! Get them. $9 for 3 huge cannolis. Splurge a little. You can always walk it off at Kowalski's afterwards. I really liked this restaurant. Good food, nice people. I hope you try it. Pro tip: They have a Groupon out there right now 7/6/23. read more

I ordered pizza for pick up. I wouldn't say the pick up option works well, I arrived and followed their process and after waiting awhile and no one came out I decided to go in and they didn't know I had been waiting. So, better off going in. Pizza was good but dough was pretty soft so next time I may ask for it to be cooked a bit longer. Meatball appetizer was good. Yum! This is connected to the Kowalski's grocery store, and has one wall bar facing in. We stopped by around happy hour time on a weekday, and were the only party there - by the time we left, another couple joined at the bar. The food and service are both good, the servers are nice and knowledgeable and the deep dish pizza is pretty good. The happy hour beers are a good deal as well. My only issue is that since the deep dish takes a while to come out, we ordered a salad to start, but for some reason the salad and pizza both came at the same time, around 30 mins after placing the order. We loved Pezzo. We've eaten at both this location and their White Bear location but most recently they refused to start an order ahead for a deep dish pizza. This pizza takes 45+ minutes to bake and historically they've been open to starting an order ahead but allegedly they no longer accommodate this request. It's really unfortunate because it limits access for many to some great recipes. We probably won't go here again, we will just go up to the White Bear location. read more

Each time we go here the pizza is on point. I love that they offer dough to kids to play with while waiting for the order to come. To be honest I like playing with the dough myself. So my only recommendation would be to offer it to every table with or without kids. The ambiance is also nice and the bathrooms are trendy and clean. read more

I have to say the service we received was great, especially how the server and manage went out of their way to introduce some new drinks that are coming next week. I asked for an N/A beer and our server told us that they have mocktails coming and brought me the new menu. I had a Berry Splash and it was super good. I also tried the N/A beer and it was better than most I have tried. We decided that when in Rome, we should get a deep dish pizza. We decided on The Wrigley and had tomato sauce, pepperoni and Italian sausage. It wasn't the best deep dish I have ever had, but was very filling and I thought the crust was baked perfect. We got the pera pizza and a shared appetizer of meatballs and a side salad. The meatballs were delicious but average. The pizza was really great and I would come back here again for it. The walnuts were crunchy and the balsamic added a good layer of flavor. They said 10 minute wait but the wait was a bit longer than that, and then we waited more for our food, so it's took maybe around 40 minutes from entering before we started eating. I wasn't too sure why they had a wait even though the restaurant was only around half full and the other tables never really got filled later in the night. Was informed by server that the arugula topped style and other menu items shown here in photos are no longer offered tells me that this place pre-pandemic. Still good enough to eat but would not come back for standard pizzas. Perhaps the deep dish is the right way to go? The Italian Stuffed Mushrooms were better than the pizzas. Atmosphere and decor rating 1/1: Place looked nice with tall booths and high tops for seating. Although connected to a grocery store, it was still quite pleasant to dine at. Tables and seats were clean. There is outdoor seating as well. Service score 1/1: Service staff was knowledgeable and drinks were topped off. Other staff that dropped off food and beverages were also attentive, even though they weren't our assigned server. Everyone was well dressed. Final thoughts: Might comeback to try the deep dish, but will likely wait at least a year for the restaurant to bring back pre-pandemic menu options. Great deep dish pizza! We enjoy The Wrigley as our deep dish of choice and we split a salad to go with it.

Was with some pickier eaters on this trip so had to go with basic thin crust build your own. Would love to go back and venture out on some of the more daring menu items as the crust did had a really nice coal oven char. When we found out that they would be opening a Pizzeria Pezzo in Woodbury we had mixed emotions of excitement and despair. The excitement was have a location close to home and not having to drive up to White Bear Lake. The despair was knowing we would probably be visiting much more often without having any restraint. Well as they say, you only live once! We have loved everything we have had from Pizzeria Pezzo. That being said, sometimes when a restaurant opens a new location, the food isn't quite the same. Those who were fortunate enough to have pizza from Savoy's would probably agree the pizza from their original location was much better than the other locations. Thankfully this has not been the case at all with Pizzeria Pezzo. We have enjoyed both deep dish and thin crust pizza. The wings continue to be some of the best in the cities and that turkey sandwich. Oh that turkey sandwich! I mean really who goes to a pizza place for a turkey sandwich? Well this is no ordinary turkey sandwich. Fresh roasted turkey or fresh made focaccia with a sun dried tomato aoli. OMG it is the best turkey sandwich that we've ever had! First let me mention the amazing service Avery gave us. She knew the menu, made recommendations, was efficient and sweet. Nowadays, service is all over the map, and Avery sets a new bar. Our group tried a bit of everything... wings (just ok) and stuffed mushrooms, a thin pizza (tasty but seemed skimpy on toppings), the pasta formaggio, and a big salad (the one with mustard dressing but can't remember the name)..all was good. We've done takeout on a deep dish in the past and were very pleased with that order, so finally decided to dine in last night. We quickly discovered that deep dish pizzas take 45 minutes to cook, so we opted for thin crust pizzas instead. The thin crust pizzas aren't memorable like the deep dish - I wouldn't order thin crust again. Plus, two 12" thin crust, 1 beer, and 2 sodas totaled $72 after tax and tip, which I felt was a bit much, especially considering two adults and a 10 year old finished those pizzas - they're the size of a frozen pizza, albeit thin crust. Ultimately, we still love Pezzo, but will stick to deep dish take-out going forward. read more

This is an okay spot for some pizza. Pretty much the only spot in Woodbury for some good deep dish pizza. It's a good deep dish for Minnesota standards. It can get pricey for a family night out. The lincoln park is the way to go for deep dish. The coal fire pizza is okay but they cancan get messy, but I'll still eat it before some other pizzas that are out there. The staff seems to be over worked at times. A few times we have been there the staff seem a bit short and unable to get drinks refilled or out in a timely manner. So let me start off by saying this pizza isn't my style. I love the midwestern style of cheese, more cheese and let's F'N cover this pie with cheese to the back of the crust. This pizza was incredible. I like it significantly more than black sheep and the flavor was amazing. The crust was enjoyable. I was able to enjoy each bite. I went back the next day and tried their Chicago deep dish and that also didn't disappoint. You could hold the slice and actually eat it without a fork and knife. Yet it was still sloppy and incredibly enjoyable. I would give the thin crust an 8.9 and I liked it better than black sheep or surleys. The only pie I remember liking more was the original savoys on W 7th before they shut down but this was a game changer for Minnesota pizza. Deep dish is an 8.4 which is better than giordonnos IMO. read more

Among the restaurants we tried around Woodbury this one is one of the few I considered a keeper. We had the charcoal crust carne pizza and it's very good. The sauce taste good the toppings great. I almost ate the whole pizza myself. Coming from Los Angeles and not a pizza person this is really my favorite pizza place. Service is good. Ambiance ok.
