The best lasagna in the state! It's loaded with cheese which I forgot to ask them no cheese topping. I peeled it off lol & my best friend took that part home as leftovers. My best friend from undergrad lives nearby & takes his parents here all the time. He likes the spaghetti. His dad gets the lasagna every time. I miss their popovers. The breadsticks are very doughy almost like a doughnut. I think they would taste better if they had cinnamon sugar on them lol. I usually get the pizza here, but I had pizza for lunch at my brothers so I got the pasta something this time I opt for lasagna. I have been coming here since high school I love that this place is still around. It's such a MOM and pop Italian restaurant. The service is spectacular very attentive and quick. I used to get this pizza at work functions and haven't had it in years, but remember it being pretty tasty. We ordered the garbage pizza and it was loaded with cheese and had a crunchy crust which was what we love. Needed a little salt and garlic salt, but it hit the spot. We also tried the lasagna after hearing great things about it. Personally, I thought they loaded it with cheese, but lacked flavor. I'm not a huge lasagna fan, but I didn't really get flavor. Stopped in for a late lunch/early dinner. The server was slow at both the beginning and end of our visit. Took her forever to come and take our order and at the end, she never came back to collect payment, so we went to the front. Everything in between was great. The portion sizes are huge, especially for the price. I am a big eater and couldn't finish my meal. Took home plenty of leftovers. Ordered the chicken parmigana. It came with soup & a good sized mini loaf of bread. It was all delicious and fresh. On Halloween we ordered the takeout BOGO pizza special. Absolutely love this restaurant. When you walk in, you are hit with the wonderful smells coming from the kitchen. The one downside was it took quite some time for the server to make her way to our table and when we were ready to pay, we ended up going to the front. We ordered the Hot Turkey dinner and Chicken Parmigiana. The serving sizes were huge,especially for the price. What we took home was enough for another meal for each of us. We came for their Sunday night pasta special ($10.99), which includes a pasta choice from a select menu, salad, and breadsticks. It's really a good value, and the serving size is such that we can make two meals from a serving. It's clearly a neighborhood favorite spot, as the place was pretty full. The salad is good for a side salad; the breadsticks are served warm and have a sprinkling of Parmesan and garlic on them; the Spaghetti Magnifico has a red sauce with bell pepper, onions, mushrooms + 2 meatballs. The red sauce is tangy and the addition of the vegetables really adds a lot. The interior space decorations reminded me of grandma's house (flowers, teacups, kitschy wall decor), and the food is equally comforting. We didn't have to wait too long for our server at any point in the meal: ordering, checking in on the meal, or paying the bill. She didn't give off a warm or welcoming vibe; she seemed focused on juggling a full house and was succeeding. My only criticisms: the dining room floor and bathrooms looked like they needed some attention and didn't feel clean. The menu has changed drastically and I visited on Wednesday 3/25/26 ordered the poverotti sandwich and it was very small and awful. Trying to pass hamburger on as Italian sausage is just wrong. It's such a cute little cozy place. The staff is immediately friendly and makes you feel at home when you walk in. It is cash or check only for payments. The food is such good portion sizes and tastes good. I got the chicken parmigiana with penne noodles and it was the best I've found since moving to MN. You get a soup or salad with all pastas, I got the French onion soup which had great flavor. All pastas are also serviced with Parmesan breadsticks or a fresh baked loaf of bread. We ordered the fried ravioli and they were good and filled with plenty of cheese filling. My bf got the lasagna and it wasn't his favorite but it was ok, he would try something different next time. My mom got the pomodoro and added chicken. She liked it and thought that it was light enough but still had flavor. The interior is relatively small, but I appreciate how the building has stayed true to its roots (never expanded) and very similar style to how it's always been with of course, a few small decorating changes. They do not take plastic cards of any type and there is an ATM on-site. They have very affordable frozen take home meals that you can purchase including lasagnas, baked penne, pizzas, etc. Bonus tip: My sister taught me to order the chocolate milk for breakfast (or whenever) and she wasn't wrong. My family and I decided to try dinner Little Oven's fish fry. Stopped in around 5:00pm and waited for about 60 minutes for a table of 12. Understandable due to our large group. However, a little frustrating as we called on Monday and told we could call around 3:00pm to be placed on a waitlist. Did that and there is no waitlist. We still decided to give it a try. The restaurant is clean, small, and busy. Our waitress did fine. She took our orders, but would often step away in the middle of taking our order. It was a little odd. I've never really experienced anything like that before. Appeared to be a little overwhelmed, but we were patient with her. Portions are large. Everyone ordered fish fry and 3 piece is plenty. Had leftovers for next day. Note, restaurant only takes cash or check. There is an ATM on site incase you need it. Our waitress did not willingly want to divide our bill by family, but we asked her to, and she did it. This isn't my first time at Little Oven, I've been here many time. Always a good spot. Based on their Breakfast ONLY. Over the weekend, a friend and I decided to participate in the Moustache Run 2019. It had previously snowed about 8 inches and Friday into Saturday snowed an additional 3 inches. The running conditions were not the best quality, but we did it! Our toes were cold, our hands were numb, and because our stomachs were empty we were ready for some warm breakfast. I have lived about a half mile from this place for almost 2 years and not once stopped in. I have had friends and neighbors tell me how amazing it is, and their pizza is quite delicious supposedly. My friend suggested we go here, noting they have really great breakfast. We arrived and the place is small on the outside, but they manage the inside space well. We were seated quickly and given waters. The waitress had an additional large party, and as she passed ours told us she would be right with us. She was very polite, and prompt. She answered all of our questions without a second thought. She knew her stuff, which can be a lot as a waitress. We ordered the Messy Eggs and Spinach Omelet no Mushrooms, Substitute Green Peppers instead. I ordered the omelet, and it was delicious and very filling! I wasn't able to finish my meal. With the Omelet came a large order of Hash browns, and 2 slices of buttered toast. The Messy Eggs had the same sides. We each had to get a to-go box. Their orders of food were warm, filling, and great for an additional meal or two. The to-go containers were really nice quality as well. This place reminds me of a small town breakfast place. The crowd is mostly regulars, the prices are very reasonable, and the quantity is large, with the quality just better than good, but not excellent. Overall I would, and will come here again. The bathrooms were decent and clean, the space was small, but they clearly know how to make the best of it, and the portion size was nice for a second meal or late night snack. The downfall is that they don't accept credit cards. I know as most of the other review have mentioned it is 2019. They only accept Cash or Check, which isn't the worst thing, but it isn't the most convenient. They do have an ATM in the entrance, but that is more of a down fall for the customers than the establishment. read more
