He knew exactly how to handle the two dozen or so teenage boys in attendance as well as the more sedate parents and guests. Best wedding DJ We hired Mike for our wedding on October 5, 2019 at the Summit House. He was on our preferred vendor list given to us by our venue and we could not have been more grateful to have been introduced to him. I had already reached out to another dj that was recommended to us. However, when I was making an appointment with our photographer, Stefani Welsh, she mentioned that she was out of the same office as him and offered to set up a meeting to meet both of them. After my husband and I met with Mike we knew instantly that he was a perfect fit for us. We really loved his experience with weddings, his music vibe, professionalism, and just how easy going and dependable he presented himself and his company to be. Coming from someone who works in a family business, I also really liked that they work together. He also did our gobo and uplighting which made our reception even more special. If our venue package did not include almost everything we needed, we would definitely have rented everything from Mike. I had been searching for a DJ for my daughters wedding when the venue actually mentioned Michael Carcano so I took a chance and called him. Right away I knew it was the right fit. He and Ryan were amazing! The lighting and gobo were perfect! My daughter didn't make it easy either. She was very indecisive with the music and just gave Michael genres to work with and the music was perfect all night. Not only was the music perfect for all of the guests but he MC'd and kept the night flowing from the grand entrance, garter and bouquet toss to cake cutting. The reception was at a venue that was in door as well as out door and he kept the dance floor full all night. We met at many bridal shows, but the first time we met him was in Costa Mesa. At that point, one of the biggest things missing from our wedding was a DJ, and I had just recently watched a show called "Cheap Weddings" and saw the difference between DJ Weddings and No DJ Weddings, as unnecessary as a DJ may seem, we needed one. While walking in the first half of the bridal show, we encountered some photo booths, which for us is funny as we did a photobooth the night of our engagement and used it for the announcement, so seeing them we thought, that would be cool let's check out prices. We did not really find a DJ or photo booth we liked in the first half of the Bridal show. We went to the other side and talked Mike and Ryan, they were easy to talk to, had a great energy about him-and offered us a deal. We talked to one other DJ after and I just said, let's see Mike when we get back. We set up a meeting at his office. Got a preview of the photo booth (ran by Ryan) and over a month or two- probably doubled the amount of song requests that we sent via email and on the week of, did a quick run down of everything. Which promptly reminded me of last minute things I had forgotten. They were acquainted with our venue, even called it by it's legal name (the attendant at the venue told us Mike had performed there when he was much younger). Day of, they were prompt, set up and well dressed. Everything went according to plan and everyone had nothing but compliments about him! Great DJ and Wonderful Photo booth! 5/7/13 Update - I wrote my original review back in October 2011. In January of 2012, I was harassed by this company because of my review. I was even told that they would use the personal information I provided in my consultation against me if I did not remove my review. He then went on to contact each of the vendors from my wedding (or the vendors he thought I used) to try to bad mouth me and have them contact me to remove the review. I refused to bullied and did not remove the review. Here we are 19 months later and he is still trying to defend himself. I would like to be clear. Mike is correct, I never contracted with this company. My review was based off contacting him as a possible vendor and the experience I had. As I said in my original review, I am not a person who writes negative reviews for no reason. Out of all of my reviews, this company is the only company I have given 1 star. My review is fair and honest. Mikes behavior towards me as a possible client was bad enough, but his actions after I wrote my review were appalling and completely unprofessional. We married in October, 2012 and used Carcano DJ Audio Visual & Lighting for: 1) DJ 2) Lighting (Uplights, Dance Floor & Gobo) 3) Chairs (Chivari) 4) Flooring (White Dance Floor) As a quick summary, everything came out spectacularly and we couldn't have been happier! Mike, Jason, Stefani and the entire team really went above and beyond our expectations! For those interested, I have provided the details below. With about 2 months left to go before our wedding, we were still scrambling to find a DJ (originally I was just going to have my iTunes plugged in and have someone manage that but am I glad my wife talked me out of it!) and luckily stumbled across Mike Carcano and his team through the "Preferred Vendor" list of our venue. We scheduled an appointment right away and they were very accommodating as they were happy to meet with us in their offices after work hours. We met Mike that evening, and my first impression was that he came off a bit "Sales-ish" (after all, this is a Sales business) but after spending more time with him, I realize he is genuine and just wants the best for you on your special day. A lot of the recommendations he had for us (Gobo Lighting, White Dance Floor, etc.), I was hesitant on at first, but I'm so glad that I followed his instincts as these little touches really made the night that much more beautiful. In terms of pricing, we were able to negotiate a price I thought was beyond fair (I think in part is because he owns so much of the equipment already, but I also believe it was because he really wanted us to have the best and was willing to work with our budget to make it happen). Throughout the process, we exchanged tons of E-mails. Mike or Stefani were always extremely prompt in replying to our numerous questions and demands. We also met in their office a couple more times and again, they were always willing to accommodate our schedule and offered to meet as many times as we needed to feel comfortable. On the actual day of, Jason was our DJ and Stefani was running things behind the scenes. Needless to say, everything came off perfectly and we received so many compliments from our guests regarding the ambiance. Most importantly, Mike and his team were VERY respectful of all our wishes. They played ALL the music we requested and were even very supportive in incorporating some geeky elements we wanted to use to personalize the wedding. Furthermore, we had an extremely tight schedule and they did a fabulous job of staying on top of it as well as being flexible to numerous changes throughout the night. And as a surprise thank you gift to us, they even burnt copies of all the wonderful music from the night so we will always have those as a keepsake! Overall, I could not recommend Mike and his team enough!!! They were professional but at the same time made you feel so warm and welcomed, it was as if you were all close friends or family. They offered an amazing price for the quality and amount of service they provided. And finally, they are a local family business that sincerely cares about their customers. My only regret is that this is a once in a lifetime event (hopefully!) but I will definitely be looking to use them for any future party I have and I will never stop recommending them to friends and family! Mike and his son were the DJ's at our wedding in August at Ranchos Las Lomas. These guys are as professional as they come. They know exactly what they are doing and are great at what they do. We had two meetings before the wedding to go over the songs. We gave him a list of songs to play for during the reception but also gave him free rein to feel out the crowd and decide what to play. We didn't want Usher playing while my grandparents were dancing, so he did a great job playing the songs that we wanted and also getting a feel for the crowd and created a great environment for our ceremony and reception. Also my wife's parent's don't speak english so he had a translator by his side the entire night to translate. So we pretty much got 3 of the best DJ's for a very reasonable price and we couldn't be happier with their service. New Year's Eve 2012 @ the Hilton Irvine was a blast. The entire production was coordinated by Carcano DJ and they did not disappoint. Every guest was engaged from the time they arrived to the time they left (or crashed out in their room). The food was amazing, including pot roast, shrimp, mashed potatoes, asparagus, and salad. Good thing, because the alcohol was flowing... The entire hotel was consumed by the crowd. Everyone with a smile on their face. There was a casino room (filled with smiles because nobody lost money), a hip hop room, a VIP lounge outside, and the main ballroom where the party exploded when the clocked struck 12.
