The estimates they provided turned out to be grossly inflated (it feels like they came to a nice looking neighborhood and tried to take advantage of us) and then, when we told them we needed to have working AC within a few days time (for my son's birthday party) they made it seem like they were accommodating us by sending someone on a Friday, but that wasn't the case. They sent someone who wouldn't be able to make the fix (doesn't even carry materials on his truck) - they were trying to keep us on the line so that they could eventually get us on their schedule to charge an engorged rate. We ended up calling a local company run by two guys who are phenomenal, they came after hours (and didn't even charge us OT rates, just as a courtesy) and fixed our AC in three hours, charging FIVE TIMES less than what Brookside quoted.

This happened over a week ago. But imagine (if you will): awaking in the early morning attempting to get ready for work on a typical New England wintry day, when you notice the hot water is gone. As my heart sank to my nether regions, I feared the worst. Upon reaching the basement, my greatest anxieties were quickly realized as I witnessed what can only be described as a literal geyser erupting from my now dilapidated excuse of a water heater. In short, ladies and gentlemen, this thing was toast. With my basement partially flooded and my family potentially facing frigid showers, there was only one thing to do: contact the heating company who would quickest solve this dilemma for us. After scouring the four corners of Yelp for a little under an hour, A.J. LeBlanc was the first to respond. Due to it being incredibly snowy and dangerous out there (not mention having 3 other jobs earlier that same day), it took them a while to arrive. Once they did though, they were extremely accommodating, professional, and precise with their installation. After working out the quote and payment details, they were able to arrive with the necessary parts THE VERY SAME DAY! I don't think I need to tell you how important this point was for us, considering not all companies in the area can necessarily pull this off on such short notice. I won't tell you how much we spent that day. But let's just say it was just shy of a king's ransom. Nevertheless, it was quite worth every penny. They say you can't buy peace of mind, but Leblanc's prompt service comes damn close. What impressed me the most was not only the superb install job (which you can clearly see in the photos I posted); but also their brief yet thorough instruction on how everything works on the brand spanking new heater. It's worth noting that they made a big deal about making sure everything was done strictly to code. And we are eternally grateful, especially after learning the former water heater (which I *think* was around 8 years old) was severely outdated. I mean, the thing didn't even have a drain pan. Imagine having just a water heater sitting on the ground with nothing to catch any leaks. *sigh* Anyway.. The new water heater comes with a 6 year warranty. So, should anything unexpected happen before 2029, we'll know who to call. These guys probably saved our lives that day. Because I know I certainly didn't feel like catching hypothermia via shower due to an out-of-date, busted ass water heater from 2015. As such, I'm giving A.J. LeBlanc Heating, Inc. 5 state of the art water heaters out of 5.

After soliciting 3 bids we chose Trolley Crossing Heating and Cooling. This turned out to be one of the best decisions we've made in all our home improvement and renovations. Their pricing was by far the best, which was not the only consideration. Mike's indepth knowledge of heating systems was impressive. He came in, knew what needed to be done and just got it done. The work is meticulous; the inspector from our town was impressed with the work done. The new propane burner looks like a piece of art work compared to the oil burner beast we had. Another rarity, Mike communicates very well and responds promptly to texts and emails. I would not hesitate to recommend Trolley Crossing Heating and Cooling for any job they bid on. I am writing this review because I do not want other homeowners to go through what I have been…read moregoing through with a boiler that Wilson Brothers installed new in my home on September 15, 2021. On January 10, 2026, I called Wilson Brothers to report that I had no heat. Their first service visit was on January 12, 2026, followed by several additional visits over the next several weeks. The service involved issues with the flame sensor, burner control module and control board. On January 27, the technician spent approximately 45 minutes trying to reach technical support because he was unable to connect the burner control. During another visit, additional time was spent trying to reach technical support regarding the control board. I was extremely frustrated with how long it was taking to get my boiler properly working. February 9, 2026 was the last time Wilson Brothers came to my home. After that, I had reached the point where I no longer had confidence in the situation and decided to have another heating company diagnose the boiler. On April 22, 2026, another heating company came to my home and performed a diagnostic inspection. I paid $325 for that service. They provided me with a detailed written report explaining what they found. Their written report stated that the boiler system was improperly programmed and that the circuit board had been incorrectly configured by the previous service provider. The report also stated that the heating curve was set at 1.6 and that they increased it to 2.2 to allow the boiler to better respond to the home's heating needs. I was very pleased with this company's work. However, their cost was more than I could afford for another inspection, so on August 25, 2026, I hired another reputable and more affordable heating company to inspect the boiler. I was also very satisfied with their work. During that inspection, they found a broken burner gasket and burner gauge assembly. I am currently waiting to find out whether these parts will be covered under the warranty. This boiler was new when Wilson Brothers installed it in 2021, and the five-year warranty expires September 15, 2026. Nearly five years after installation, I am still dealing with problems with this boiler. I have spent a considerable amount of time, money and frustration trying to get a heating system that I expected to work reliably. I repeatedly contacted Wilson Brothers trying to get answers and have the problems resolved. Unfortunately, I ultimately reached the point where I no longer felt comfortable relying on them and had to bring in other heating professionals to determine what was happening with my boiler. I am posting this review because I believe homeowners deserve to know about my experience before making a decision about who they trust with a major heating system. I sincerely hope that sharing my experience prevents someone else from going through what I am still dealing with.

I asked roughly how much it would cost to do the small amount of work needed. I was told by the tech around $200 but he said he couldn't give me an exact price, so I was comfortable as I thought it was fair and anywhere around that price I was ok with just to get it done. Almost 2 weeks later I get an invoice of $798.05 4x what I was told it would most likely cost. I called and spoke to them on the phone and they agreed to take off 10% of the most likely 40%+ mark up on materials. I was only requesting they take off the mark up on materials as I would never had used them had I thought it was going to be $800 where I would have most likely got that done for less than half what they charged. Their tech told me something I trusted and honestly would have been ok even anywhere near what I was told.
