My 20-year-old Lennox AC died in the middle of a heat wave on Thursday, 7/2/26. Since it was so old…read moreI reasoned that it would be wiser to just replace it rather than have it fixed. High Ground Service Pros in Milford, NH, aka Sanford Temperature control, did a terrific job in replacing my old Lennox furnace back in March of 2024, so I called them on Friday, 7/3/26 for an estimate appointment. That culminated in their estimator/sales rep Zach arriving, as scheduled, on Monday 7/6/26. Zach proved to be exceptionally knowledgeable & courteous as he evaluated all the variables that would impact the difficulty of installing a new system, and he readily answered all my questions. He provided a very competitive estimate for installing my preferred, high quality Rheem brand system to replace the old Lennox system--an estimate I readily accepted. The installation was scheduled for Friday 7/10/26. That's when the HVAC installation techs Kyle and Jason arrived early to get the job done. They proved to be real pros who completed the job with meticulous precision and attention to detail, leaving me confident that I would not have to take advantage of High Ground Service Pro's remarkable Lifetime Workmanship Guarantee. In summary, I STILL recommend High Ground Service Pros, aka Sanford. If you like, you can watch a 30 minute 33 second, time-lapsed, multi-camera video of the 4 hour installation at this link: https://youtu.be/YAypViCgqqA

I was a customer of Sanford Temperature Control for many years and the service was great. Recently…read morethey "re-branded" as High Ground. Since then the service has been terrible. Almost a month ago I called just before a heat wave to report that my central AC was not working. They sent a tech the next day. After an hour's work he told me that he could not fix the AC because he did not have the necessary equipment. Huh? They sent a tech to fix the AC and didn't send him with the right equipment to fix an AC? Then he said he would "try to come back tomorrow" with the right equipment. Tomorrow came, and he didn't. So I called High Ground and was told that the appointment had been set up for a full week from that day. How did "tomorrow" turn into the end of next week? Anyway, the heat wave came and went and I did not have AC. A few techs finally showed up at the end of the next week with the equipment they said they needed and worked for an hour. Then they told me they would have to order a part and charged me a deposit of $900.00. The AC still didn't work without that part. Another heat wave came and went with no AC. I called again and asked if the ordered part had come in. I was told that the tech who worked on the AC was on vacation and would not be back until the following week. At that time they would review the account and find out what was going on with the part and the service to install it. What the... Why did he have to be present to find out what was going on with the part? Why didn't High Ground know whether or not the part came in and assign another tech while the first one was on vacation? By the time he returns, I will have gone without AC for over 3 weeks since I first reported the problem. Totally unacceptable. Do not do business with this incompetent outfit. They don't know what they're doing.

My situation was different than most, where I am a do-it-yourself person. I installed a ductless system and tried to get various HVAC companies to give me a quote to test the system, provide a vacuum, and start it up. Most companies refused to do this or came in with very large quotes. Northern Climate was very reasonable and said they would be glad to get my system started. They checked every line connection to make sure I had no leaks and then closed up everything afterwards. This worked out so well, that I decided to put in a second system for the rest of the house. Northern Climate assisted me in the purchase of the second system so that I would be able to receive the Mitsubishi diamond warranty. I also installed this system, and then had Northern Climate check and start it up. Great guys to work with. They graciously answered all the questions I had for them. I highly recommend them. Although doing this for many years with lots of experience under their belt, they branched into their own business fairly recently- get them while you can- truly knowledgeable and good at what they do. And very nice!
