They have single pokemon cards for as low as 10 cents - it really doesn't get better than that.

Top Canvas also has other locations (Alhambra, Downey, Torrance, and Milpitas in Northern California) that operate as collectible stores and this is the only Top Canvas location that runs as a claw machine arcade. [Parking]: Easy and free parking at The District at Tustin Legacy. [Selection & Price]: Apparently the shop redesigned their claw machines and prize system in recent months. Players can now trade plushies for points and use those points to redeem more desirable prizes. As for trade-in prizes, they have selected signed Funko Pop figures / giant Pokémon plushies / other generic plushies (25%), blind boxes (50%), and graded Pokémon cards / booster packs / other collectibles (25%). Personally it would be better if they had fewer blind boxes as trade-in prizes and focused more on curated Sanrio plushies or unique action figures. [Point system]: For play packs, $10 = 20 tokens, $20 = 42 tokens, $50 = 110 tokens, and $100 = 230 tokens. Claw machines with numbered stickers indicate how many points each plush is worth and most machines indicate 15 points per plush. Blind box trade-in values range from 45 points to 125 points. [Conclusion]: It is nice to have claw machines with a higher win rate than places like Round1 + the ability to trade plushies for better prizes, but I do think their prizes are not as good as places like Round1. Personally I still prefer other claw machine spots like Infinity Claws in Rowland Heights and I also like Top Canvas's collectible stores better than this claw machine-only concept store. I contacted their customer service only 40 hours after purchase and provided my card purchase proof along with a photo of the defect. Instead of receiving actual help, I was told they needed the "actual receipt" which I did not get because it was a keychain. Now they expect me to drive over 40 minutes back to the store to return a defective item, and even then, only if they can find the purchase in their system. Very disappointing customer service and overall experience and the only place that seems to be getting OLD/DEFECTED jellycat.

Last weekend, I had the opportunity to learn tufting for the first time!! For those new to tufting,…read moretufting is essentially a texture manufacturing process where you insert yarn into a base fabric to create rugs. The lesson first starts off with choosing a simple base design. Our instructor specifically recommended a design with simple lines and colors to make it easier for our first ever rug, which was around $70. Using a projector, you will trace your image onto the fabric as a template for the rest for your work. Before starting with tufting, we then moved onto a mini tutorial on the ins and outs of using a tufting gun, from yarn insertion to how to create straight versus curved lines. Keep in mind you have to put a lot of pressure on the canvas to ensure that your yarn is being threaded correctly. Going through several practice sessions definitely made the transition to the entire tufting process easier. Starting our rug, we soon recognized how difficult and time consuming the rug tufting process was. Even simple design like ours (a cartoon dog) was a long lengthy process than anticipated and we ended up spending 3-4 hours for completion for one of the smaller size rugs. We were recommended to start from the inside out and using one color at a time, inserting lines of yearn about a fingers width to ensure completion of our rug. Though we initially struggled with creating finer lines, we eventually got the hang of it and were able to successfully complete our rug. Our instructor transitioned us into the final process, teaching us how to trim our rug and prepare it to take home. Personally based on the instructor teaching and supplies available, this class was well worth its price point. Overall, I would say tufting is an impressive skill that I learned for the first time and hope to come again to create more designs!
