I wanted to like this store, but unfortunately it has several issues that make shopping here frustrating. The store is very small and packed with far too much merchandise, making it difficult--and sometimes unsafe--to navigate the aisles. If another customer is coming the opposite direction, there's barely enough room to get by, and it would be especially challenging for anyone using a wheelchair, walker, or other mobility aid. The meats are generally low quality, and many items don't seem like they'll last very long. Outside, the parking lot is another major concern. It's cramped, difficult to maneuver through, and feels dangerous because of the tight spaces and traffic flow. Overall, the store could benefit from better organization, improved accessibility for customers with disabilities, and a safer parking lot. Until those issues are addressed, I can't recommend shopping here. read more

Cashier Ana working the register has absolute no customer service experience whatsoever. She opens up, sealed bags that have vegetables in them and goes through the vegetables with her bare hands that just touched money and other stuff at the register and did not like the fact that I called her out on it nicely. I told her the reason why those bags are tide shut is so nobody grabs the produce on the inside. She became very rude and grabs the parsley that she rung up and tossed it to the side and told me OK, Well then go grab yourself another you should know where they're at because I don't wanna touch those for you either. They can simply look up, produce with codes and only need to open them and touch the vegetables on inside. A worker shut a row down in front of my son so he waited 10 min in another line, then she re-opened her line and gave him a smug look while then telling her worker something in Spanish using the words "pinche negro" as he was walking out. We shopped there to support our local businesses in our neighborhood, but this disrespect obviously shows us that they are non-inclusive and only want funding from certain demographics. read more

Was rang up by Yvette, didn't notice till gotten to truck,that the 4 bags of Sara Lee everything bagel was rang up regular price of $5.99 not the sale price of $3.29. Thank goodness didn't leave parking lot. So, I was able to go back to question why rang regular price not sale price. So Yvette was nice enough to check for me. Came back and explained that the label of $5.99 was there and not sale price it's for the other Sara Lee Bagels. We both went to check out & explained to her those sale price labels are there and just because there employees pack hotdogs bun on top of price for Bagels, not customers fault. No dividers, or not like Smart Final, Food 4 Less, Stater Brothers, Grocery Outlet, or Albertsons. When a certain brand like Sara Lee is on sale, all on sale is not a certain one. And when you talked to their manager. Always give excellent customer service. Here manager blame customers for their employees' fault. I would have given 1 to minus zero, especially their manager, Avenllino, talking to Yvette in front of me in Spanish, not realizing lots of different nationality shop at this store. Need to speak English. Not to fault finding customers. Both informed me that I should read labels. But if a customer is in a hurry and sees a label on sale, we just grab & go. Above the price of $5.99 was hotdogs. The manager even removed one hotdog buns bag just to show me a division. We customers trust how store employees stock there shelfs correctly and if they make any mistakes & we as customers should not pay the prices or be blamed for their mistakes. Even though I paid for it , I just wanted to make them aware ,but when the manager constantly giving excuses in Spanish. It's the principal of it, especially a difference of over $10. Every time I come to this location (being the only chain Latin market in the area) the cashiers are incredibly rude and will retaliate in their own petty way if you call them out on it, by not speaking to you, handing you your receipt or bagging your groceries. Make sure to ALWAYS check their "fresh" produce or items for a packed date. It is March 17th and they have a chocoflan packed from the 11th sitting in the fridge with visible mold on it. Other packaged items are expired. The reviews speak for themselves. They will soon see a decrease in sales when a new market opens up with this growing city. read more

Cardenas recently replaced the old Rio Ranch market and I'm super happy they did. They're produce seems way fresher. You can find a lot of unique produce at this location at really low prices. Avocados were 4 for 0.99 cents, A whole bag of limes I think was about $2, chayotes were 4 for 0.99 cents, and prickly pears were 4 for 0.99 cents. I love the bakery area and LOVE their flan and tres leches cake. I wanted to eat at the hot food counter, but, everything looked like it had been out a while so I skipped it today. I'll be back to try it out earlier in the day. read more

Not much has changed since Cardenas took over Rio Rancho market except the prices are higher. The place still smells bad with old battered checkout registers. Ok, so passing by Cardenas again this morning. Still trying to get those Pepsi 2-Liters on sale that have been on sale for two weeks. Oh, still none. Now the coke 2-liters are even more, and they have plenty of Coke product but no Pepsi. They were going to transfer my concerns to the store, they obviously just tell you what you want to hear and do nothing about it, because when I asked the lady in the store today why they've been out of Pepsi for their add she stated they are mad a Pepsi because they don't give good service. So I asked her "you're not hurting Pepsi you're hurting the customer" she stated "I know" I think you should state in your adds that store subject to not carry add items if we're mad at the vendor, Cardenas knows they are hurting the customer and really don't care. This is my last time in here. Can't wait to here customer service response about how they care about cust service. I've been to this store a number of times. I really like to order their taquiza platter. When I ask for the platter I get this look like I don't want to serve this plate. I was told we have no more platters. So she gave the meat in a large cup and the sides in a medium cup. I mentioned the sides should be in the same large cup. She ignored me. I asked May I plz have cilantro with no onions, she says I here alone I don't have time to cut it. I asked for extra tortillas she just gave me a rude look. Second time with rude service I went to get carnitas, I asked the lady for 1/2 lb plz plz no fat. I asked for the taquiza platter and extra salsa. She said it doesn't come with extra, I said I will pay for the extra. When I got home and the carnitas had 1/2 fat. We have choices to purchase food anywhere, even though the food is good i will not return due to bad customer service read more

I trusted to go to that jewelry store Nereydas Jewelry inside Cardenas in Banning to have my husband's necklace fixed and they ended up giving me a cheap light necklace when it only when for a repair on the latch. We went back to show her that that's not our necklace comparing to mine and my sons. And still denied saying she wouldn't have swtiched it when obviously you can see the difference even on the 14k engraving. We went back with the salesperson who we originally had bought off from & proved to her it's not ours since she doesn't sell thin necklaces . Just filed a police report. I'm shocked that the food and health department hasn't shut this market down. Big F rating. This market was filthy. I went to the hot food section ordered buches and cueritos that were below the standard food temperature before you get food poisoning. All the rest of the dishes under the heat lamp were scarps, dried and just sitting all day. I got there guac pre packed looked old dark, nothing looked fresh for a Saturday that everything should be on point. I am still very sad that Rio Ranch people has left the area. It very obvious that the Cardenas' management does not care to provide the people from Banning with a quality and decent service. Only one person has gone above and beyond with a review, which I think it might be one of the employees or managers, posting several pictures of the store.
