I had a really great experience at the store thanks to Heraclio in the meat department. I was looking for a specific spice and a certain type of fresh cheese for a recipe, and I couldn't find them anywhere. Heraclio was so kind and offered to help. Even though the items were on the other side of the store, he walked me all the way over and made sure I found everything. He answered my questions and didn't make me feel rushed at all. He was very patient, friendly, and knowledgeable, which made the whole experience easy and stress free. It's rare to get that kind of customer service these days, and I really appreciated it. Cardenas needs to up their tamale game. I got the cheese and green chile tamales, and they are probably the worst I've ever tasted. No flavor. The spice is there, but the masa and everything else has absolutely no flavor. Very disappointed. Will be going to Superior for my tamales from now on. read more

I'm not sure whose mom, abuelita, tia failed them but to whoever cut the nopales that come in the little bags- please ask for help, google it, look it up on YouTube, check out the local Vallarta for a better example because the way these nopales were cut was horrible. I liked this stored till recently. Out of all the bad things I heard people say but I never believed it. What they showed me appeared to be cut pieces of what ever was left from wherever but it wasn't any part of the ribs. So feeling I misread I went home. At home I reached for the ad and there it is. Country style ribs! I called and management told me it was on sale so I went back. I went to the butcher area and showed him the ad. He said "Yeah this is it. I don't know why they label it like that. There has been a lot of confusion about it. They just call it ribs." They got me on the "Ol switch a Roo". Cardenas this was able let down. I spent over $120 in groceries in hopes to get some cheap ribs and at no fault to the butcher Cardenas Conned us! Now to the Candy. This is a Mexican store. Why does it have so little choices? I had a great experience at the Hesperia Cardenas. I did a order pick up and i needed help to find groceries Cardenas employees are rud at this location really rude. I purchase meat and show my order to the meat clerk and he gave me a face he got my item and toss the bag to me. Not nice !! I went yo the front end to self check out had a scanning problem and the lady gave me a ugly look cause i mess up. I will never go to this Victorville Cardenas even if i have to pick up a order. I used to come to this place to buy only produce products. The quality of produce is horrible now. You'll see moldy strawberries, dragonfruit, and other fruits. I recently decided to shop here, and I absolutely won't be coming back. I believe this company is Price gouging when it comes to grocery items. My kids wanted to get a couple snacks. When I looked at this prices, I was petrified. Sure let's blame "inflation".. but I was like "wow" if I go to Walmart this pack of cookies would cost $3, even at winco it would cost $3. But for you to price it triple the amount of its cost. That's insane. When it came to checking out, oh boy... the lines long. Does this company even hire enough workers? I waited in like for 30 minutes, only one cashier. I also waited in the fruit bar section because I wanted a bionico , but there isn't any workers and other workers that aren't from that department were trying to help me out. Which I appreciate that, It's just unbelievable that you come to shop and you don't have a staff of workers to provide customer services Or the ones being exploited trying to help me and unfortunately don't know how to do that job because that's not there job. Again I don't blame them. Just overall I feel like the long wait lines, and expensive prices. Just make me shop elsewhere. Let's see, the guy stocking the produce literally had his mask under his chin. The employee serving hot fresh bread was completely mask less walking around the area serving bread to customers. When he was done, he went to work going in and out of the back room with boxes stocking merchandise. My mom loves going shopping here for months she always spends hundred on groceries and every time literally everytime their fish grinder doesn't work or "is missing a part" they have an excuse and we had to grab a higher up to make them grind fish for us this is has happened to my mother like 10 times not even exaggerating at all. i asked her how many times do they tell her excuses and she gave me the number 10 and just in the past few months. I noticed an employee coming from the back of store, into public not wearing his mask, walks over to where the fresh bread and sweet bakery is. The area is roped off so no one will contaminate ( great idea) he proceeds to help the line with no mask on, no gloves on and speaking as he bags the bread with no mask. On 7/12/22 we purchased some ranchera style meat from your butcher. Upon arriving we asked the butcher for flank meat commonly used for bbqing. We cooked it and it was horrible, we noticed it was a lot thicker than flank meat normally is. We have bought ranchera before and know the difference. Now either you have people that don't know the difference or don't care what they are selling. I'm sure a big corporation like Cardenas would like to have good customer service and make sure that customers are happy with there purchases. Flank meat is normally thin and diesmillo meat as they call it is thicker. For 9.99 a pound you can be sure I'll complain when I don't get what I wanted. In the future I hope your employees are better trained or know the difference. Instead I get an employee that said to me they don't speak English. That was terrible. Ruined our whole dinner, not even our dog wanted it. Please hire better trained help. read more

I have been going to Cardenas mark for my masa for tamales for year. It has always been delicious. Not so much this year. I purchased $80 worth and made my tamales for the family gathering. The store is ok. I've been there twice now. Don't care for the way it's set up with half isles going in the opposite directions. Too many side stacks for such a small place. No flow through for when it's busy. Prices are much higher than the other Mexican markets in the area. Several areas in the market you could smell something rancid. Someone isn't rotating in house product properly. Not only is that unpleasant to smell but also hazardous for customers to consume. Cashiers are friendly and helpful. Front end manager was rude and argumentative over a price discrepency. Anyone who has worked grocery knows not to be argumentive with customers over such simple things. After leaving I found a second price discrepency on my receipt that was 1.49 over shelf price. Didn't bother going back in to deal with her again. Im not happy with this store so I won't be going back again. There are plenty of other Mexican markets in the area so I'll stick with El Super and Vallarta. Overall not counting the rude management, they are just too over priced on everything. read more

She was confronted by another customer while I was in line about getting oVer charged then wen my turn came up she began throwing my groceries out of the basket on the counter and gave me reCiept no thank you no hola no nothing.
