Just wanting to update on the 1 star reviews on the office staff. I just called and my call was picked up immediately/ Friendly voice and I got an appt for less than 45 days! Very thorough conversation with the person who answered the phone as she did not make me feel rushed at all. This facility is the worst, it is impossible to speak to anyone on the phone as all calls go directly to voicemail. I received a referral for community care from the VA and left 4 messages to schedule an appointment and they have all been ignored. Not only do I not recommend this facility but I plan to reach out to the VA and suggest that they remove them from their providers list. read more

I could not believe the rudeness of Rachel the front desk receptionist. She was very condescending and she obviously hates her job. I tried to schedule a new patient appointment for my father. Rachel told me to find another doctor for my dad if I was in such a hurry. The lack of compassion and professionalism makes me worry for future patients for this office. How sad it is to know that some may not be able to speak up and will take this type of abuse because they have no other option. Our elderly is who I worry for the most. I am my fathers advocate so I won't let anyone mistreat him but what about the folks who don't have anyone to support them? Rachel is the poison in that office and I hope someone will teach her to have more compassion for the sick. She is obviously in the wrong line of work. The front office staff is worse than those in an East German Stasi prison. They truly are incompetent, rude, aggressive, uncaring, disorganized, and they lose everything. They lose your appointments (multiple times), they can't find you in their system, they tell you you're lying and not really a patient even though we've been going there for 5 years. They lose every lab test, imaging result, and referral every time. It is astounding to me that this place has not hired an outside company to pull this place together. THIS FACILITY IS A HUGH LAWSUIT WAITING TO HAPPEN. I cannot state strongly enough how dangerously disorganized the front office is, and it will be to the Dr's demise unfortunately, which is unfortunate because they are good doctors. However they are going to eventually go down with the sinking ship once a catastrophic outcome occurs-- and it surely will. I've seen this incompetence with multiple family members for serious conditions over and over and I can only surmise that at some point there will be a split in this organization over a wrongful death as a result of this disorganization and policy of losing EVERYTHING. It's unbelievably scary. Keep a record of everything in your chart because you will have to bring it in and show it to them because they will have lost it. Often times the doctors are flustered and behind and rushed and extremely irritated with the front staff because they were never given any test results this that or the other so it really helps them if you just bring the tests to them personally. What this means though is that they have not even read it until you gave it to them so they haven't even had time to digest the information. Not the way an organization is supposed to work. The liability that they are exposing themselves to is just AWESOME! I don't feel sorry for the doctors anymore because they know that this is a huge problem and they put up with it. Because they don't do anything about it it's on them. And it will fall on on them like a ton of bricks. So sad. read more

Most unprofessional medical office I have ever dealt with. They still haven't resolved their issue of learning to call patients back after they've left multiple voicemails and finding someone to pick up the phone is still nearly impossible. Finally got in touch with Dr Poggemeyer's assistant last week who told me that she was going to look into an issue with my referral and get back to me. I spoke with her again today and she in essence told me she had no idea what was going on with my referral and suggested it was up to me to find out. Then quickly transferred me to someone else in the office staff. If I could go back a couple of months, I would have NEVER stepped foot through the doors of the office and would certainly have insisted my primary physician refer me to another medical office. Great doctors, staff and office. I had a noon time appointment and didn't wait more than two or three minutes. Staff member Candice was very pleasant and professional. Dr. Richard Gray was outstanding in his understanding, patience and assistance in sorting through a problem I had had. He spent almost an hour with me on this, my first visit. He had some recommendations I will follow as well as a test to take at home for sleep apnea. I will be taking the test soon. I recommend Dr. Gray to anyone in need of a first class cardiologist. He is at the top of his profession. Wonderful listener and bedside manner. read more

I've been a patient of Dr. Kanak's for 9+ months. He's fantastic -- very knowledgeable yet humble, and he asks smart questions and listens well. He even tolerates my weird humor (e.g. leather CPAP face masks, anyone?). I've also attended one meeting of A.W.A.K.E. (sleep disorder group that meets at CHOMP) and he gave a lecture there, which was accessible and informative. I also like his staff. One of his medical assistants recently moved on and I think Daisy (referenced in my previous review) was promoted (or at least I hope she was, because she deserves it). She's smart, friendly, courteous, and great at followup communication. If I ever have a job where I "have" an assistant, I might try to steal her -- she's that good. read more

Probably the only time I'll ever say this: I enjoy going to this doctor appointment because of the attitude and personalities of the staff. The physician that I see is personable, thoughtful, and thorough. Unfortunately the quality stops there. The arrival and check in process makes TSA security at the airport seem pleasant by comparison. There is ZERO privacy in the waiting room when the PA's do their cattle call to take you to the exam room, where I typically wait another 30-45 minutes to be seen. Trying to contact a physician is virtually and literally impossible. I made a recent call to follow-up on a blown schedule (by their office) and the staffer who answered the phone didn't even know who the MD's assistant was. Sad, sad, sad. Heart or lung disease is no fun by any definition, but I actually dread everything about this practice except for the time I spend in direct contact with the physician. read more

I have been struggling with sleeping problems since I waand never found the time to go to the doctor because of school and work conflicts. I graduated from college and my husband and I just moved to Monterey, so I decided to pursue treatment. My primary doctor referred me to this sleep center and for once I was optimistic about overcoming my sleeping issues. When I went to the first appointment my doctor didn't seem to sit and listen to the problem that I had been experiencing. He was very focused on whether or not I may have sleep apnea (this was the first red flag). Although, I was a little bothered that he didn't seem too interested in what I had to say about my problems, I figured that they may like to lean on the results from a sleep study rather than a patient's experience. I went to my sleep study across the hall and they were lovely and the facility was very nice. So I waited 3 weeks for my follow up appointment to hear the results. Basically the doctor told me "you don't have sleep apnea" (which I never thought I had and never complained of any symptoms pertaining to sleep apnea) and that was it. He told me to come back in 6 months for a follow up. When I looked over my results it showed it took me 2 hours to fall asleep (which was pretty good for me) and that I do not have restful sleep. The result clearly showed that I have sleeping irregularities and when I talked to my primary doctor about it he said (paraphrasing) they weren't interested in helping because they couldn't make money off of me. (Sleep apnea requires you to purchase a machine and several follow up appointments every couple of months). So, I do not recommend going to this center unless you feel like you have sleep apnea because I'm sure that they'll be more than happy to help. Otherwise you're going to leave feeling disappointed and hopeless. If you have any other sleeping disorder than I would attempt to figure everything out with your doctor, like I'm doing now. read more

These people refused to see my aunt, who is 72 years old, because she refused to commit fraud for them. Shameful business practices and inconsiderate staff. It's disappointing that this "medical" office cares of only money and not the health of their well meaning patients. $150 if you're late for an appointment?! Accidents happen every minute of everyday. These people are inconsiderate, rude and do not know how to be decent people. My aunt will be coming down to the bay area for her pulmonary issues, where the offices are not so desperate for cash and she can receive better care. This place seems truly disgusting. read more

Cardi-Pulmonary Associates Medical Gropu, Inc, in Monterey, California USA is excelent. My husband visited two medical doctor. One, his diagnosis was to put 4 stents, the other to put 3 stents, and a sergury open heart. For a friends we travel to this clinic, the Dr. Thomas Kelh told, is not neccesary any sergury, made other test and to recomended to Dr. Pir W. Shah. Dr. Shah, made the angiogram, and told th my husband, you don´t need any of this things. The next year you´ll return for control. I would give the doctors here an A and the office staff/follow through a D. I have seen three different doctors here because mine left, And one for a specialty appointment. I think the doctors are very intelligent and thorough, but somehow when you're supposed to have test done things don't get faxed, calls don't get returned, test don't get revealed to their clients. This has been my experience with their office I think it's a shame that the office appears to not be run well. Possibly the staffing is not adequate for the number of doctors working in there. read more

Dr. Stephen Brabeck and Dr. Karim Tadloui are two of the most caring doctors I have ever met. The office is well managed and although no one looks forward to a doctor visit, I always find myself thinking how much I enjoyed going in while walking to my car in the parking lot! read more

Truly terrific doctors. And caring PA's. The constancy of the revolving front desk employees is always of concern in the medical community: it's as though they can't keep anybody constant which does undermine the overall working at the office. Very strange to see a young overweight front desk women with false eyelashes as you check into see your doctor-why would anybody be wearing false eyelashes at work? It's like not having a dress code. It just shows priorities are very mixed up. Save the false eyelashes for the night club. Highly unprofessional front desk people continually. Perhaps it's a very very low wage they pay the employees and it's very obviously they're very uneducated. The wannabe Kardashians are not running the offices. Tacky. read more
