My updated review of Dr. Chi as of current is she is too busy to be effective and because the practice has gotten so popular, I am hesitant about the sanitary level of the practice. I have not been in many years. Dr. Chi is skilled, but too many patients have lowered her quality and standard drastically. Highly recommended for Dr. Zhou. She is professional and kindly. Acupuncture is very helpful for my daughter who was 6 years old. She got a very bad eczema from head to back . Especially, she became very irritable emotion and difficult to fall asleep. After we tried all the medicines from our family doctor, skin specialists and other related examinations were not helpful. When we felt very anxious and helpless, my friend referred Dr. Zhou to me. Although it takes three hours to go back and forth from the clinic and San Francisco every time, I don't think it's a problem anymore. Dr. Chi is the best acupuncturist I know. I have seen many acupuncturist before her and they were all terrible doctors. They were all quacks because they would prescribe herbal remedies that don't work and made me sicker than before. Their acupuncture treatments made me worst with worst symptoms than when I went in to see them. There was one that even let their patient die in the clinic and not even care about it and didn't even bother calling 911. I was in the middle of a treatment with needles all over so I couldn't call. But if I didn't have needles in me, I would have called 911. But Dr. Chi is the opposite of all those other terrible acupuncturist that I've seen. She has great bedside manners and really care about her patients. She would constantly check to make sure the patient was ok before she placed another needle in them. She is always so encouraging and positive no matter how difficult her day may be. She really knows how to take care and heal a patient as a whole. Not just treat the symptoms and send the patient away. She really goes to find the root cause of the patient's illness and treat them from there. So the patient will be healed. I have seen Dr. Chi for awhile now and she has help heal me from my seasonal allergies, headaches, insomnia and now with diabetes and psoriasis. I even took my mom in for treatments and she loves Dr. Chi, too. Dr. Chi is really patient with her. Unfortunately I have to update my review. I don't live close to Dr Chi anymore, so, I stopped going there. Last week, I received a call from her office. They are saying that insurance company is requesting that they return the money from a previously reimbursed visit. However, that visit happened 18 months ago! And Dr Chi's office wants me to pay that money back. And when I call insurance they say the time for me to make claims has passed. To be clear: insurance is not charging me. It's charging the office. And the Dr office called me 4 times in the last week. And they are leaving all on my shoulders and not even trying to find a compromise with me, or, partnering with me to work with the insurance. Sure, insurance companies are not easy. But it's up to the doctors office to handle the paperwork for the claim. And again..... it happened 18 months ago!! read more

Another assembly line and the method that is used here is one size fits all. I thought with all those five stars reviews she would be something like a healer. I called one Monday and Dr Chi was off, but Dr Tang was available. I explained my problem to him. Pinched nerve in the lumbar area, that effected my left leg, (pain under my thigh) it was inflammation muscle that was squeezing a nerve and sometimes I felt pins and needles all the way down to my foot and some indigestion problem. When I got there he used few simple chiropractic twists and turns and the rest of the time, I got the acupuncture treatment, (few needles on the top of my head, few on my hands and few on my feet). After one hour, I got up with the same pain that I had in my lower back and in my leg or may be worst. When I went to pay, the bill was 130 dollars cash or check. I thought, I am not gonna give up yet and next time I will see Dr Chi. When I met her one week later, she felt very confident that she is familiar with my pains and she will take care off, all of them. She even told me that one of her clients had high blood pressure and after four-five years she is not taking pills anymore, because of her treatments. When I heard that, I realized that she really wants you to keep coming here the rest of your life. After the first visit her rate is 85 dollars. So, 52 weeks times 85 equals 4,420 per year. And I will add now, all that money for questionable results. She is using the same methods that Dr Tang was using for me but only with needles, top of the head, hands and feet. The pain in my thigh, was not improving. Some chiropractor told me that the nerve in my thigh is in the middle left side of the upper leg and she supposed to put the needle there, but Dr Chi's methods are one size fits all. I went total 4 times without any improvement. Bottom line I spent total of 385 dollars for nothing. P. S. By the way this old, worn out couch, in the waiting room is an eye sore, for all the money they are making...... May be they don't have time to pay attention to these kind of details. read more

I had tried acupuncture one time before but wasn't really impressed by it. I dont know what made me decide to give it another try - it could be the pain was so great that I needed some immediate relief! I was suffering from my second sinus infection in less than 2 months with severe sinus pain and pressure and I did not want to do another bout of antibiotics. Enter Dr Chi and the rest is history. I can't tell you how grateful I am to have her. She saves me every time I injure myself or get sick. I just see her for one appointment, and I feel significantly better the next day. I've come to her with countless back injuries where it was painful to get out of bed, and even turn my head to drive, but Dr. Chi was able to fix me, and I was able to even attend my cardio exercise classes the next day. I once came to her because I had the flu. She treated me, and I was almost 100% better 2 days later, with each day feeling 2x better than the previous. My parents also were sick, but they didn't see her, and they stayed sick for over a month. That could have been me! Thank you, Dr. Chi! What really amazes me is that she also helped me get my period back. My periods stopped when I was 16, due to stress, and I didn't have it for 5 years. I highly recommend Dr. Chi as an acupuncturist and as an expert in herbal medicine. I am a western person who comes from a family of western doctors, was raised as a skeptic of Eastern medicine. Dr. Ching Chi is a gem. She is very passionate about her job and really cares about every patient. She not only helped me get rid of a shoulder blade pinched nerve that tons of treatments couldn't but has been helping my husband and my almost 3 year old girl as well. She not only works on physical pain but is also interested in helping you find a healthier way of living by improving your diet, sleep and find ways to deal with stress. I recommended her to many friends already. It's important to have in mind that because acupuncture is a very different treatment than regular medicine you can not expect being cured in one visit. If you trust that she can help you, you will probably need a few visits or the amount she will tell you to get your body to respond. I really believe in her and have seen improvements in my little girl much faster than what her regular doctor prescribes when she gets colds and stomach problems. Dr. Chi cured an allergy problem that had plagued me for over a decade. When I lived in LA, I had to drive by a factory zone on weekdays, and my eyes just burned whenever passing through there. Then allergies developed. The problem persisted after I moved back to the Bay Area. About every third time I drove, my eyes hurt all of a sudden. I had to pull over to use artificial tears right away. Otherwise I wouldn't be able to keep my eyes open. It was very dangerous. I saw quite a few eye doctors for this, but none helped. They just told me to keep artificial tears with me all the time. Some of them also advised me to clean my eyelids with baby shampoo every night because the oil glands of my eyes were overactive. I was afraid baby shampoo might be too stimulating, so I wet a cotton pad with hot water to clean my eyelids every night instead. It didn't work. Allergies kept attacking me out of the blue any time. That made me avoid freeways because I didn't know when the allergy attack might force me to pull over. Fortunately, I was able to take surface streets to work. I thought I had to live with this problem for the rest of my life until getting Dr. Chi's treatment. After receiving her acupuncture twice a week, I noticed my allergies miraculously didn't act up at all through the second week. I continued for one more month. Since then I've been totally fine. Dr Chi is amazing. We came to her with my 18 month old's upper body motor delay. Before Dr Chi my little girl couldn't sit up or stand up by herself. After 12 sessions she is able to do both and is quickly catching up to her peers. As others have said here, Dr. Chi is amazing! It can't be said enough times. Dr. Chi cares about her patients deeply. Her passion is clear as she explains each of her actions and the effects it's going to have. I was a skeptic when I visited her first time for my sciatica. However, upon seeing immediate improvement in my condition, I am convinced about the virtues of Acupuncture (at least for my case). She'd insert needles and instantly the pain would disappear. The chronic part of my pain disappeared gradually also. Dr. Chi is also generous with her knowledge. You can ask her any medical questions--even those that may have bothered you for a long time and those that don't have anything to do with your particular condition being treated--and she'll have an answer for you. This review is for both Dr. Ching Chi and Dr. Billy Tang. When I first met Dr. Chi in July 2015, I was suffering from pelvic pain. I was diagnosed with Endometriosis in 2010. After 5 years of going to many different doctors and trying several therapies ( including surgery, hormones and other medications), I was still in pain almost every day. Within the first 2 months of seeing Dr. Chi twice a week, my symptoms dramatically reduced. And thanks to Dr. Chi My health is improving every day. Dr Chi is the best acupuncturist I have ever gone to, and also has a lot of compassion for her patients. Her positive attitude has helped me to not give up on getting better. I started seeing Dr. Tang for chiropractic care, because of shoulder pain due to a crossfit injury. would like to take this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude to Dr. Chi for giving me a new lease on life. She is a wonderful person and a dedicated professional who truly cares for her patients. I have been suffering from the symptoms of prostate enlargement and urinary retention for the past six years, taking prescription drugs to ease the problems. In January of this year, urologists advised me to have prostate surgery. After I had the surgery, although many of my symptoms subsided, the problem of retention was not resolved. Due to the fact that my bladder (as a result of carrying so much liquid for so many years) was distended, my surgeon told me that I had two choices: either install a urinary bag or catheterize myself four to six times a day. I asked them if there was a cure for this issue, but they responded saying that my bladder had lost its muscle mass and it was unlikely to regain the muscle tissue. The prospect of catheterizing or carrying a urinary bag was so agonizing that I was plunged into a deep depression. When I discussed this issue with Dr. Chi, she simply said, with the utmost confidence, that she could help me. After two and half weeks of acupuncture sessions, my retention significantly reduced from 600 cc's to 100 cc's. I cannot find the words to express my happiness. I immediately made an appointment with my urologist just to make sure that I wasn't dreaming. When he examined me, he was astonished and told me that I no longer had to catheterize or use a bag. I started seeing Dr. Ching Ching Chi about a year after I had major surgery to repair a congenital defect called Pectus Excavatum. This condition is defined as a concave sternum and in my case, it was very severe and was compressing my heart, causing arrythmias and difficulty breathing. The surgical repair meant that two metal bars were inserted beneath my sternum and ribs, to raise my sternum off my heart. I experienced significant pain due to this surgery which lasted much longer than anticipated. After months of visits to pain specialists, narcotics, physical therapy, chiropractic treatments and massage with minimal relief from pain, on the recommendation of a friend, I visited Dr. Ching Ching Chi. I came into my first visit with pain in the 7 range on a scale of 10. Seconds after Dr. Ching Ching Chi inserted the first needles, I was completely pain free! I was suffering from severe acid reflux and heartburn since Feb 2012, I had several trips to my physician who recommended me on Prilosec, for six months when i did not see any improvements she asked me to double my doze of the medication. That was it, I do not prefer taking medications , hence wanted to try alternate options. Dr Chi was referred to me by my masseuse(who i trust a lot) I am really scared of needles but still decided to give it a try. Dr Chi was very patient with me and calmed me regarding my nervousness for needles. She recommended to make a few dietary changes as well and ever since I started treatment I have seen a significant improvement in my health.
