This place is easy to work with and FAST! I honestly don't understand why some reviews say otherwise. When it comes to our kids, of course parents want things handled quickly, and every time I've gone, I've been in and out. Most importantly, my kids are seen by caring physicians and an amazing staff. The nurses and doctors always give thoughtful advice and don't just rush straight to antibiotics. They actually do the proper testing, explain the results, and make sure you get the right treatment. I have an 11-year-old, a 3-year-old, and a 1-year-old, so when one gets sick, they usually all do. The doctors are always welcoming, patient, and helpful with all of them, and they consistently help get my babies back to their healthy selves! read more

Worse experience. They are all about money. We took our older son they said he has straps and gave him antibiotics.. few days later our older son had the same symptoms we took him there and they said he is negative for everything but after 3 days with fever and soar throat we took him back and said he needs to be given antibiotics he has the same symptoms as the older son and you didn't diagnose him correctly 3 days ago and they wanted to charge us another $150... so $150 for the older son then $150 for the younger son and then again they wanted to charge $150. They wouldn't see him. We have been going here for 5 years. They lost a wonderful customers because all they care about is money and not taking care of the kids. read more

I think I know why this place has so many bad reviews and I know the hack to quick care here for $75 with out insurance. This place has a long wait to see the doctor "IN OFFICE". From the looks of it there is one doctor and about 6-8 rooms filled with a patient every time I go. That's one individual human that has to see each patient, mark notes, vitals, prescribe medication and diagnoses in the patients charts. There is only so much 1 person can do and the nurses, assistants and office staff can legally only work within their realm. Now for the way to get quick care in and out in about an hour. 1. Create an appointment online 2. Check in and arrive to said appointment 3. When you walk in, go to the window and let them know you have an appointment but would like to have a telemedicine appointment instead 4. They will give you a place to wait and a link to sign up at 5. You click the link and pay for your appointment ($75 with out insurance versus $150 with out insurance in office) 6. They send you another link for the actual video visit, click the link and "get in line" 7. The longest I have waited for the Dr to accept the call is 25 minutes (in office appointments take 2 or more hours telemedicine appointments takes maybe 45 minutes- 1 hour) 8. You tell the doctor on the phone the symptoms the child is having as well as the vitals that the nurse gave you and they will tell you what test they recommend getting done 9. The assistant or nurse come and swab or test the child for what ever tests you have decided on (each test is extra $$ but they vary in price) 10. You leave and the send you and email with the results and send medication to your pharmacy ( every time the longest this has taken is 25-30 minutes and I just waiting the area to pick up the medication) I really hope this is helpful to families looking for quick test and answers for their babies. *UPDATED* this morning. I received a call from the clinic manager before opening hours because she saw my review. She was very apologetic and advise me because it's busy season, there are some seasonal staff and that she would address all the issues with them because there is information that was given to me incorrectly about the process. If your test results are negative you do not receive a call, they send you an email but it almost always goes to spam. I did check my spam and I still do not have an email from them but I am giving them a star back because I am happy with the level of customer service from the manager - she handled this first thing this morning and I didn't even have to call to get the information I needed This started out a great experience, but ended up horrible, and I would not recommend anybody go here. Especially if it's close to closing time because you'll get screwed and leave without any medication for your kid. The staff was super nice. We walked in and within 15 minutes. We were in a room. Vitals were done and then the nurse asked us if we would like to do a Teledoc appointment on the iPad because the wait usually 10 to 15 minutes compared to 40 minutes to an hour for an actual physician to come in the room. So I said yeah that's fine. We waited about another 15 minutes. A nurse practitioner came on the video. She was super great the whole experience there was good. They ordered a flu test. Within five minutes. A nurse was coming back in to swab. So all that went great! where they lost all of their stars and why I would never recommend or return there is: it was about 8:56 pm after the swab, she told us we could leave but we hadn't gotten the results or prescription or anything. And she said that that all goes through the Teledoc service that the nurse practitioner will call us back and give us a test results and send in the prescription. I said, but what if the results are negative, then we need to test for some thing, other than the flu... And she said well they'll call you and tell you that it's negative. And I said well I still need a prescription like physically in my hand because it's almost 9 o'clock and all the pharmacies are closing so if I leave and I get to the pharmacy and they don't have the prescription I can't call you guys because your closed and I'm just SOL. And she said well they'll give you a call in 30 minutes and then they'll work with you to find a pharmacy that's open and then you'll receive an email with all the information and the prescriptions and she assured me that it's pretty smooth process. But there I am waiting for an HOUR in the parking lot of the urgent care for my text or call come through confirming the test results and I got NOTHING. So I'm going home with a sick kid that has the flu, I presume, But no medication. So this system they have set up is awful especially at closing time. read more

They are so caring and so so gentle and they don't cut any corners. Four months ago, my daughter was sick with fever, most of the children urgent care was full so we went to this place. The front office told us the total charge for this visit is $187, we paid and left. We wait there for almost 2 hrs before we can see the doctor, which is also frustrating. Now, after 4 months, they mailed us a remaining balance to pay $77, makes the total as $264 for the visit. Nothing special just a regular urgent care visit. We took our kid to a few other urgent cares in Katy areas and mainly $140-160 total, pay upfront and no surprise bill after. I called the billing office and they just use the insurance company as an excuse. We use the same insurance at all the other children urgent cares and $100 less than what your office charges. If you don't want to be over charged and get surprised bill afterwards. Please stay away from this urgent care!!! I will report this to Health and Human Services Commission!!! read more

I wish I checked reviews for this medical establishment on different websites. The care they provided for my child was beyond unacceptable. My daughter was diagnosed with strep troat several day before our vacation, and they prescribed antibiotics for treatment. We went on vacation to Europe, which I planned for eight months, paying for hotels in Paris, London, and Brussels, reserving restaurants and activities. When we arrived in Paris, my daughter's fever appeared again unexpectedly after several days in antibiotics. We had to invite a doctor to the hotel to check on her, and when he looked at the medication, he said that the dosage was too low for your weight! It's unbelievable! Instead of going to touristic places in the beautiful city, I had to run around looking for new medication! My daughter was feeling bad and me and my husband too! I couldn't find the antibiotics under the first prescription, so the doctor gave me an alternative one, and again, I had to spend my time and money going to different pharmacies of Paris! It is absolutely unacceptable! Our vacation was ruined. My daughter was running 5 more days of fever until she finally started feeling better. Brought my daughter in for covid test April 2020 and was told there was no charge (free covid testing was available everywhere). Later, they billed me $150 and blamed my insurance. Insurance says they need to refile it as a covid test (not a global urgent care fee) to be paid, but urgent care refuses. Unethical and dishonest billing for covid testing. read more

Great doctors, great staff, short wait time...what else can you ask for! Finally there is a place in Cinco Ranch where I can take my kids after-hours when their pediatrician is closed. They are open nights and weekends which works great with my family's schedule (considering they exclusively seem to get sick on nights and weekends). Super fast and friendly and you can check in online and skip the paperwork which I love. They have a real Pediatrician there at all times which is very important to me. This is definitely my new favorite place and I'm never going back to an ER or regular urgent care. read more

I received a bill in October for $50 for PPE they used in my June antibody appt. So I paid it off after talking to my insurance. It's January literally 7 months later and I get a Bill for $30, 2 $15 copays from the same visit, wtf. Oh and it's in collections. This is the first time I've seen it. The Doctor here seems to treat everyone as a number. It seems she had "an agenda" of absolutely no antibiotics no matter what. I took my 15 mo old grandson-in. He had been sick for 5 days with high temp and cough. Dr did a flu test on him and it was negative. She said "thought" it was a virus. I said I believed it was more than that at this point... after 5 days of a very sick baby running 102 fever. I disagreed with the diagnosis. The Dr said she did not want to promote antibiotic "abuse". She absolutely refused to offer him any antibiotics. Or any other meds for that matter. I was not going to let this baby go another day suffering like this. I Immediately went to another urgent care down the street. I was immediately seen and the dr wanted to run another flu test (understood ) and RSV test. Both were negative. The dr said he didn't like the fact that this high fever had gone on for 5 days and he said he felt safer to go ahead and prescribe an antibiotic at this point and the baby being only 15 mos. I felt much more comfortable with this diagnosis since the baby had been sick so long. He was very thorough, kind, and compassionate which is what a dr should be. I will NEVER recommend or return to Urgent Care for Kids Katy. No way! When you are treated like a number and not a person, there's a problem.I also believe many of these positive reviews are promoted from a marketing company. Note: 24 hours later, after antibiotics and meds, Baby is much better, no fever, and coughing has gone way down. No thanks to Urgent Care for Kids-Katy. Stay away from this place. read more

I recently brought my son here for allergy related issues. I went online and checked in (scheduled appointment), also registered him (optional to do online or in person). I received a text message 30 minutes before our appointment saying it was time to be on our way. The entire process was so easy, convenient and painless. We arrived about 15 minutes before our appointment (the texts asks that you arrive at least 10 minutes before). I had only a few things to fill out since this was our first time and because I did the online registration. We waited about 10 minutes before being called back into our room. What made this such an exceptional experience was that my son had just arrived in Houston at 7:30pm on a Friday night from out of town and would be leaving again Sunday afternoon. This meant I had a small window to get him to the dr. before Sunday. Had this been 5 years prior this would have easily been an entire Saturday morning spent sitting in an over crowded dr. office. We had a bit of a waiting period once we received a room, but the staff was still very pleasant. As we were the last patient of the day. As a parent with a sick child, we only have one goal and anyone standing in our way... So help them God!! We just want our kids well again. This facility made the process more convenient for our schedule, not to mention they also accepted his UnitedHealth care insurance. I would definitely recommend. read more

We used to love this place. Easy to get same day appointments, they don't make you wait forever past your appointment time. But after our last visit, we will never be back. My 2 year old daughter had a cold and was complaining that her head/ear hurt so we took her in to be seen as it was Friday and her pediatrician was closed. They looked in her ears and determined that she had an ear infection. They was a tan/yellow thing visible in her ear and they said it was just a lot of wax and the ear was swollen. 2 weeks of antibiotics later and if anything, her pain is worse. I look in her ear and I went to clear that visible wax and turns out it was a STICK. It was 1.5-2" long STICK sticking out of her ear. When they LOOKED in her ear I am not sure how they missed it. She was in unnecessary pain for weeks and the foreign object caused a lot of damage inside her ear that we have been treating for over a month afterward now. I placed a complaint with corporate. I missed a call at 9pm on a Friday night, called back the next day but have never heard back. They are obviously rushing through appointments without actually seeing their patients concern. I am glad they're is no permanent damage but am horrified that my young toddler had to suffer because of their negligence. My pediatricians office has said that they hear a lot of similar complaints about this urgent care. read more

I would give zero stars if I could. Please don't be fooled by the nice office. I was billed incorrectly - and made to pay my deductible even though it is clearly written on my insurance card that office visits and urgent care do NOT require a deductible. When I called my insurance to confirm that I had been billed incorrectly they said to contact the urgent care about settling a refund. I spoke with the woman at urgent car regarding the bilking she said the person who ran my insurance must not have checked with my insurance provider ahead of time and that in 4-6 weeks once the claim had been run through insurance then a refund would be made for the 200 plus dollars I paid to be seen. So I asked would the money just be credited back to my debit card. She said no it would be credited to an acct there at the urgent care to be used at future visits. And that they have wayyyyy to many locations and only 4 people working in billing to keep track of everyone's refunds. She said if I wanted the money to go back to the debit card and not to an acct with the urgent care then it would be MY responsibility to contact the urgent care in 4-6 weeks to have them credit to my debit card. MY responsibility - for YOUR mistake. Oh and the idea of creating an acct with 200 plus dollars of credit at a pedi urgent care?? Why so my children can be seen for free over the next 7 years to use up the money you over charged me. I live out of town and would never be back in that urgent care to get to use my 200 plus dollars that l'd been credited to be used at that urgent care - so who would reap the benefits. The urgent care. This is highway robbery, and extremely negligent and lucrative. I went today because my son just got pinkeye and his pediatrician's practice was already closed. I got there around 8pm, the nurses were super kind and helpful. Wait time was barely nothing. The pediatrician was very helpful and kind too. He got his prescription and we were ready to go before 9:30. Everything is electronic which I love. Ok now keep that information in mind.. So yesterday took my baby to urgent care for kids...It was raining and cold! Got there at 8 pm ( they close at 9pm) my 6 month baby has been coughing, started 2 days ago..no fever at all but yesterday she was worse, specially at night! she was fussy and crying ( obviously with a red sleepy eyes due to her cold and come on it was 8 pm for a 6 month baby to be awake) it had nothing to do with the pink eyes event from 2 weeks ago , it was not swollen anymore. In fact it was all clear the day before yesterday..,. I did mentioned the pink eyes event to the nurse just to let them know the medication she took. So doctor came in, didn't bother to be nice or compassionate at all, barely said a" Hi", then the first sentence it came out from her mouth was: " so you told her eyes is/ look better?!?!?!?! It looks horrible!!!!!".... Excuse me?!?!! Extremely rude, you don't have to be a super smart person to notice she was having a cold, that she is a baby , she was fussy, crying and tired and plus you can defiantly tell the difference between a swollen pink eye and a baby tired/ cold eyes ! So I did find her comment and tone extremely unprofessional. 2- she didn't spend more then 5 minutes with us, she seamed in a hurry to get out of there quick ( after all it was almost closing time Hun?!) checked her heart and her ears but didn't bother to check the throat even after I mention the bad coughing ( uhh hello that's why I was there lady) my baby's voice is fading, she can't even cry and this lady comes to me and says " well we don't prescribe 6 month baby coughing medication or throat medication because she's too little) if she doesn't get better by Tomorrow take her to you pediatrician....." well it's been going on for 2 days now, that's exactly why I got there yesterday night she did get worse at night! I was Expecting some treatment! Now why do I have to wait one more day to take her to the pediatrician since I was there expecting treatment in the first place?!?what a joke, beware!! The Doctor was very nice, took her time to see us, and was very descriptive about the treatment/procedures. I live 13miles away but I would rather go here. My 4 year old daughter had a fever and sore throat during the weekend. I heard that this would be a great urgent care center to visit if we needed. They provided great service and were very prompt and efficient. We were in and out in 30 minutes. Everyone we encountered was so nice and my daughter even said she liked the place. It didn't hurt that they gave her a prize, sticker, and ducky. Visiting Urgent Care for Kids was even more convenient than visiting her pediatrician. Such a great facility! I would recommend this place to any parent. I came in on a Sunday that was actually quite busy and was still able to have my son seen by the doctor is less than an hour. His condition was one that hadn't been seen there before so the doctors and nurses weren't quite familiar with it. So instead of lying or misdiagnosing my son, the doctor prescribed a medication to prevent his condition from getting any worse and told me he would follow up. Then after leaving the office he stayed true to his word and stayed in communication with me after consulting with his colleagues, he followed up with my sons condition in the days after he was seen here to make sure he was doing okay and receiving proper treatment. Thank God I ended up here. Will definitely return if I am ever in need of urgent care for my son again. read more
