Then in early 2024, I needed hip replacement surgery. My wife has dementia, so I hired CFTH to take care of my wife, expecting to be able to come back home after 4 days in a skilled nursing facility. I had major setbacks and spent 2 full months in the hospital. Thankfully, I returned home to a wife that had been extraordinarily well cared for during my unexpected absence. Mom was able to stay in her home over a year longer because of the great service provided by her Care from the Heart caregivers. Jackie was wonderful from the start to finish. When my mom was in the hospital, we knew that a lifestyle change was coming based on her medical situation and she would need more help than we could give her. If I could negative 12 stars, I would. Jackie is the worst dragon-lady-boss. She treats her employees like dirt. She wanted me to come in for a meeting on my day off and when I said I expect to be paid for my time, she refused-which is illegal. I was in the office one day, picking up my check because she refused to mail them and made all employees come in to pick them up-she wanted me to work more days and hours than I was able. I said I was unavailable and she yelled at me, across the crowded lobby "you're no good to me anymore, you're done." And that was the end of my employment with this company. I'd be working part time for a couple years. She rearranges clients belongs in their own homes to suit her needs. Has no regard to clients who happen to be napping or resting when she's in their home. Very high employee turnover because of her, which is not good for clients and their families. I got hired right away only to find out on my first day the owner Jackie Tucker cusses at her husband berates and belittles him right in front of office staff and caregivers. she talks about her husband to her staff which I found very unprofessional and disappointing considering their business is caregiving. she yelled at me and cussed me out over the phone the next day. she held a meeting with employees and put one employee on the spot intimidating her to share something very personal causing the employee to cry I was immediately turned off by all of it and I Ended up quitting that day read more

The owner dropped my loved one from service, with a five-day notice, because she didn't want to provide the kind of care my loved one needed. After that, she harassed us and threatened us, including threatening to send an investigator to stand on our doorstep. She can't keep staff on hand. If you need help, look elsewhere. Hospice of Santa Cruz has a list of providers that they recommend and this agency isn't on it. read more

We used Care From The Heart in home service to care for my elderly parents for several weeks after my father was recently hospitalized. He wanted to be at home where he felt safe, but wasn't ambulatory. My mother has Alzheimer's and needs supervision and help with medication and daily tasks and memory. Jackie was wonderful and has been an RN in the county forever. The caregivers were so compassionate and such hard workers. They were respectful of my folks home and their customs. They did all the housework, laundry, helped with bathing, grooming, dressing and meals. They even fed and walked my father's dog for him. I've been meaning to add a little review since the middle of June but I just needed a gap before posting to allow the dust to settle mentally since my wife died having succumbed to effects stage 4 colon cancer. In a nutshell my dear wife Emily of 24 years was brought home to end her life surrounded by her pets and family, she died on May 28 being held in my arms, the same way we started our life together outside of Bath Abbey 26 years prior when I asked if I could give her a hug and she said "yes"... The care that Jackie and her crew provided to allow "normal" life to continue, especially with myself was immeasurable. The support, and genuine love that was felt within these four walls was incredible, and the final days of Emily's life was spent in comfort and with care. At the beginning, they were able to jump in with both feet when I had to go out of town suddenly, And were so accommodating when I wasn't sure month to month if I was going to need them. They ended up being his full time caregivers and I couldn't have chosen any better! im not one to leave a bad review but there's always a first time.. i have been struggling finding a good job with great work ethic's & work environment. i heard care from the heart was hiring & due to my previous work experience i thought i would be a good fit for the position so i decided to apply. on the phone i spoke to some woman named jackie she told me to come in a fill out an application and asked to bring in documents. i then showed up to follow up since i did miss our appointment due to their office closing earlier than usual an email was sent out by their office so therefore i did not show up. jackie did not greet me and was very rude and unprofessional when meeting me told me that i had left her waiting all day and that she tried to reach out to me i tried to explain my situation to her but it seemed like she did not want to hear it and completely dismissed me. she seems to have a lot of issues with communicating in a professional manner. once again very rude demeanor. after reading reviews and speaking to former employees and current, i am so glad i did NOT get hired for this job. read more

Very unprofessional, not trustworthy, and the employees complain to the people they work for. Billing was incorrect several times and our door was revolving with new people. Paperwork went missing and our locks had to be changed. People do your work and check out throughly who is caring for your loved one. If it feels strange or like something isn't right, THEN IT ISNT! As a resident and native of Santa Cruz, CFTH is the only at home licensed company I will use for my loved ones. Unfortunately my family has needed services for family members with severe cognitive and physical limitations requiring 24 care, and other loved ones with basic geriatric needs. Keeping my loved ones at home is the most important thing and Jackie the owner, and her team went above and beyond for my family, over the years. From medication to fall prevention, to personal hygiene needs, again Jackie's team allows the family to have a break and maintain their own personal lives, which is CRITICAL when you have loved ones that require extreme care. I would never of had the time that I did with my people that are gone now, without CFTH. It's incredible what Jackie has done with at home care and offering the best providers. I have seen both sides. Nursing homes and, "at home care". Pretty horrific what can go on at assisted living places. We the healthy people who facilitate this care will never truly know what it is like to have your dignity stripped away and not be able to brush your teeth or feed yourself, and to be at home is everything for the patient.
