I reached out to CARE Heating and Cooling to have my Furnace serviced and Wes came out that week. As a new homeowner, Wes was very kind and informative as he showed me what my furnace was doing and educated me on what problems that would need to be addressed. After discovering my furnace was 44 years old, I decided to move forward with replacing my furnace and A/C. CARE was able to schedule my appointment less than a week later. Shane and Charlie were my technicians and they did a fantastic job of working in tandem to replace both my furnace and A/C in one day with minimal disruptions. After their work was done they took care to tidy up the job site and showed me the changes they made. Most importantly, Shane also took the time to talk about regular maintenance and what I needed to do to keep my units in good condition. I really wanted to like this company after hearing their commercials on 610. Tech arrive to my residence did a quick check and said there is a good chance my heat exchanger has a crack and that my furance would need replaced. The error code on my furnace was flashing error code 33 which is an airflow issue. I told the tech the previous residents never used an air filter. I scheduled an appointment with Care to get my furnace replaced but went ahead and got a second opinion before the install date. The company I choose for the second opinion fixed my furnace for $200. My coil was clogged. I just don't understand why this wasn't checked before I was told I would need a new furnace? Thanks for the quick reply. The other tech did retest the system and every reading somehow went back to normal. I did place a co2 monitor in my laundry Room just in case. ZERO rating. The furnace the installed has been very loud right from the start. It runs too fast & moves too much air. I had servicemen out twice to try to slow it down but they couldn't. There is so much air flow that it sucked the water from the humidifier into the furnace and it ran out onto the floor, so they had to remove the humidifier. When watching TV we have to increase the volume every time the furnace starts. It also has a high-pitched whine that is very irritating when trying to sleep at night. My furnace is older and out of warranty so I felt I needed to get it checked out by a professional. I have had just OK service over the years by several HVAC companies and was cautious about whom I picked. A family member recommended Care Heating and Cooling so I gave them a try. Kyle called and arrived exactly on time. He immediately went to work to check out the system. I was impressed with the tools and meters he used to measure the gas pressure and vent gases. He explained how to better use my humidifier and made sure it was working too. Bought a heating cooling system about a year ago. Previously purchase a unit on another property from a different company that was twice the size as my current property for 3k less. When they came for my first service calls i told them one of my two bedrooms didnt work. He told me the unit was too small for my house. The unit they sold me and said was more than enough. Them on my second service call they wanted to charge me double for an air filter that you can get anywhere else. In addition they still have my wrong name on the account. Imagine spending 7k on a company and after telling them multiple times, they still have the previous residents name on the account. After a year! Stay away from this place! read more

On their monthly plan for over two years, so when our AC went out during the worst heat wave in years this summer, it took them a week just to evaluate the issue. When it was determined that we needed to replace our 16 year old unit, the first available appointment was 3 weeks later. 1 MONTH WITHOUT AC IN 100+ HEAT INDEX. I ended up buying 3 window ACs to get through, ran all fans, and the house was barely livable. The price and result was great, but a month wait was not. I've had friends in the same situation with old ACs needing replaced and was able to get it handled in 1-2 days with other companies. Five stars, without question. I am very satisfied with my experience with Care. When my AC went, I really appreciated how Care breaks down their service with separate people. The Tech took a look at what I had and gave me a straight forward summary of possible routes from there. When I decided I wanted to replace with a new unit, another Care employee assisted with that decision. When the new unit came out, an installation team did a great job with the new unit and answering my questions moving forward. We have used Care for the past few years to service our air conditioner and furnace and have been happy every time. All technicians are friendly, arrive on time and are very informative in regards to what is working and what is starting to wear out. We appreciate that they do not up sell and are honest when something needs to be fixed or replaced. In terms of speedy service, our air conditioner broke on a 90 degree day in the summer and they came the next day to fix it. Cost wise, they are very reasonable. Had them install an outdoor AC unit at the beginning of the year. It works really well. I guess some of the sealant they initially put on wasn't applied correctly and they came out right away, no charge, to fix it. They're a good company and I'm glad I'm in their service range. read more

Stay away - Huge disappointment. Scheduled a week in advance for a system at work. Explain exactly what the problem was and the refrigerant needed. They missed the first appointment and the next day a tech showed up, never looked at the unit, told me we needed a new unit and then lied and said they only service residential units. Called the office and they said they have a hard time getting good workers. If you use them, ask for a "good worker" Edit: Cares comments miss the point. Not disappointed that a new system was recommended. Disappointed that my first appointment window was missed and after a week of waiting for them to come, then they never even looked at the system. Even if it was something that could be fixed, their tech said we don't even have R22 and then said they don't service commercial...... and I waited a week to hear that? I could have just called someone else from day one. Just very poor communication. read more

About 5 years ago I bought a Furnace and Air Conditioner from Care Heating and Cooling. Last year in 2021 I called Care because my Furnace was running but I was not getting any warm air, Care said I needed a new part that had to be ordered, my wife and I froze to death for almost a week waiting on this part, Care told me that the part was under warranty but I would have to pay to have it Installed, why even bother to have a warranty when you have to pay anyway. They installed the part, but left the over ride switch on, the heater ran non stop, I had to turn the furnace off until a technician could come back. Now it's 2022 exactly 1 year later and I'm having exact same problem with the Furnace, running but no heat. Care Heating and Cooling sells junk to it's customers. read more

After 17+ years of using Care Heating & Cooling religiously & faithfully, we recently had the major disappointment & shock of getting a non-essential furnace replacement part installed (at the technician's suggestion after a routine seasonal check-up that we pay for)..- which was approved by my wife on good faith - but, to my dismay, we were invoiced $500 for a 'dumb' (i.e. no moving parts) piece of PVC pipe held on by two clamps that sells on the the internet for $88.32 - fact check here:(http://www.comfortgurus.com/product_info.php/products_id/60764). Even contacting MIke Weins - the owner - directly for a 'reasonableness check' netted pure apathy and, 'well, that's the book price") and he offered a 10% discount. So, $448 for a service call and a PVC pipe swap out for an $88 part that didn't impact heating or cooling (it had merely dripped slowly over a 12 year period) and took 10 minutes to swap out? (The Tech was actually here for 50 minutes but, we talked Dallas Cowboy football for 30 minutes of that time). Unbelievable and very disappointing. Prior to this encounter I would've proudly said that Mike & Care were some of the 'really good guys' remaining but, it seems they've gone the way of so many businesses trying to up-sell and profiteer on loyal customers (Ala the car dealership mechanic) for the sake of revenue and margin maximization. For the record, I am a businessman and I gladly would have paid $275-$300 even...($88 + shipping + $200 for labor...but a $500 initial quote from a company you've paid annual maintenance to...for 17+ years? A bit overboard and zero empathy from the guy who runs the business. Care may still be the best locally but, my advice is to do your homework (ask for a part # and Google it) first before committing to any 'suggestive replacement part' work. Granted if your heating/cooling is down & out you may not have that luxury but, for me...I am $300-400+ lighter in the wallet because I didn't understand what we were fixing in advance and, I didn't do my homework. Sad but, I guess 17+ years of dedicated patronage doesn't count for much. read more

We had been using Care Heating and Cooling for about a year and have generally been happy with their service. We had signed up for their service plan, for which we paid a monthly fee. We had a routine service appointment scheduled for an A/C tuneup, which my wife had made several weeks earlier; we both work and this was the first day when I was free. They gave us a 3 hour window in which the service person would be here. Just before the start of the window I called the company to see if I could get a better estimate of when they would be arriving. After a few minutes on the phone, the receptionist informed me that our appointment had been cancelled that morning and not rescheduled. This was a surprise to me, because I had not cancelled the appointment. I asked if we could be added back to the schedule and was informed that they were full for the day. I asked if they could get to us the next business day and was told they were full that day too. I made it very clear that I had not cancelled the appointment and the receptionist didn't seem particularly concerned about my issues. I called my wife at work just to confirm that she had not cancelled the appointments for some reason and she was just as surprised as I was. I called the company back and said that I wanted to cancel my service contract because it's not really worth much if they don't keep their appointments. The receptionist told me that since it was the last day of the month that our charge was already in for the following month. I asked if it would be refunded and she said she would leave a message with the billing department. It hasn't been as of now, but it's only been a few days; I'll try to update this review if they do give me my money back. I was very upset by not only the unprofessional practice of cancelling an appointment without notice, but also their complete lack of concern or any effort whatsoever to resolve the issue. read more

Go with CARE, NOT Atlas Butler. I had asked Atlas Butler to come out and repair our furnace because it would periodically blow cool air and then go back to heating the house. This is not an ideal situation when the temp outside is 8 degrees. After 2 techs, three visits, and a bill of $500, they said we need to replace our furnace (+$4,000) or pay $2,000 to repair three things in the furnace. This caused us to pause because a new furnace is not cheap so we called a friend who is a HVAC tech in another state. Our friend said that their repair recommendation also didn't make any sense because the repair was for two different parts of the furnace that manage two completely different and separate issues. We decided it would be helpful to call Care Heating & Cooling for a second opinion. When Mike L. from Care came out, we had all evaluation cylinders firing. Mike walked into a list of questions from our friend. Atlas was also sending a senior tech to look at the unit an hour from after Mike got started. And our friend was sourcing information about both companies from his colleague in Columbus. After Mike ran diagnostics on the system, he was asked to jump on the phone with our friend. They had a great conversation and talked the same language about the diagnostics and working together to brainstorm possible causes. In the end, he and our friend came to the same conclusion regarding the issue and we are now planning to have Care send him back out to install a new circuit board tomorrow... NOT a new furnace. BIG difference in cost. He managed the environment extremely well and was very professional considering he was being drilled with questions over the phone by another HVAC technician. It became clear in this experience that Care comes out fix your furnace and Atlas comes out to tell you what everyone else has done wrong in installing the unit only to leave you with a broken furnace. We lost three days of work sitting at home so Atlas can attempt furnace repairs. We are so glad we called Care for that second opinion. read more

I called this company with all the pertinent information to get a rough estimate without needing someone to come to my rental property and deal with that entire hassle, the pleasant lady on the other end of the line informed me that it would be a $10,000 variance in price if I got the estimate over the phone as opposed to having a sales rep come. That's insane, I have all of the details that any sales rep is going to need and can provide it over the phone. All I wanted was a rough estimate so I can see how people are priced and I would never call this company based on the single phone convo I had. I am however giving it two stars because the lady was polite and I got a response pretty quickly on my yelp request for a quote. read more

I was treated more than fairly and the installation was outstanding The tech was on time and did everything to the last detail and then a few things he did not have to do unrelated to the AC installation. I switched from another company that I had been doing business with for almost 15 years. I signed up for the Ultra Care maintenance plan and Andy just finished my furnace tune up, Installed a new filter (large more efficient filter) and recommended a new humidifying box and filter. The service was outstanding and the technician very professional and efficient. I would recommend Care to anyone without hesitation. I trust the technicians to give me their honest opinion, and I never feel they are in it "to make a buck." I called because our fan stopped working on our unit. Technician came out, checked it, and it worked when he turned it on. No charge and an encouragement to try the "least expensive route" next should it happen again shows me they are an honest, fair company. And I had another AC check today. All is good. We did end up having to make a $600.00 repair when our attempt at the less expensive remedy last year didn't work. I always feel confident in CARE! read more

I am a repeat customer with this company and will never use them again. I have been without AC in the hottest week of the year due to some pretty poor service. I have had to chase them down for information. The service manager has failed to contact me despite multiple requests. And I was told by one of the customer service reps in the office that I should consider using another company. I find it truly amazing that through all of this poor customer service, not one person at Care has attempted to make this right in any way. The do however keep asking if I would like to purchase their "Care plan." For a company that is supposed to be based on customer care, they have become the exact thing that their commercials say they are not. I'm not going to go on about my disappointment with my experience other than to say I should have more thoroughly checked out their services. 500 bucks later and I wish I could go back in time and make a better choice of service providers.
