Worst company I have ever dealt with. Sold me a very expensive heat pump. Ever since installation, winter bills are over a 1000 a month. Techs out multiple times every year and fix NOTHING. System completely stopped working this year, so was on 100% expensive electrical heat for WEEKS. First tech said main-board needed replacement. Second tech comes with the WRONG BOARD. Third tech comes and says the first TWO were both WRONG and "the system had lost all it's settings". MULTIPLE CALLS over YEARS for help and literally NO ONE is in CHARGE or willing to help me. I've WRITTEN. I've CALLED. I tried to find the OWNER (good luck with THAT). I'm out well over 10,000 dollars for a system that doesn't work, they don't know how to support, and with no recourse in the company! TERRIBLE TERRIBLE experience. read more

why did I give Care 1 star? Because I couldn't give them ZERO. In December, we had one of their reps come out and install a new thermostat. $261 later, it was in. It worked fine, for 6 months. The 1st week in June, the batteries ruptured and battery acid leaked all though the thermostat, causing it to stop working completely. When we called Care, they said they only offer 30 day warranties on thermostats, unless we paid $150 up front for an extended warranty. Who does this? 6 months and it is completely disabled, and they wont replace it? The Care that advertises what a friendly and honest company they are, actually are not. the word "care" is most definitely a misnomer. They should be ashamed. read more

They say, "When you need someone you can trust, call CARE," they aren't lying! After a super hot 90+ degree weekend, my A/C failed. I called them first thing Monday morning, and by noon, the A/C was back up and running. Cory was polite, on-time, and thorough. Even though I had self-diagnosed a problem that could have cost hundreds of dollars, he didn't just blindly fix it. He found the true issue, and saved me a bunch of money. Thanks CARE! read more

Customer for 15+years. Purchased Lennox furnace and heat pump 13 years ago. Required repairs 7out of the 13 years. 2011 a $1100 repair 2013 $550 repair. This time they wanted $660 for the same thing that was repaired in 2013! Previously when complained of frequent repairs, was told to be expected, all the issues were different. This time told it was my fault for not having service contract! Unwillingly to discount or work with me given all the repairs. Went to another company. The total bill was $391 using genuine Lennox parts (the CARE part was generic) which also included service contract for 2 visits a year. The CARE technicians are great, kind people. The management and business practice stinks. read more

I called on Care H & C for a seasonal tune-up for our ten year old Trane furnace. The Care technician said we needed a new heat exchanger which would cost about $2,000. He said it was "clogged up." I called another company for a second opinion and they found no problems with our heat exchanger. Our two brand new carbon monoxide detectors aren't measuring any CO. Beware of Care using fancy diagnostic print outs to say that you need a new heat exchanger. Care also had to change the time of the appointment and the Care technician was a little late arriving from the changed time. I don't trust Care Heating and Cooling. read more

Amazing Service! My air conditioner broke and I needed immediate service. I called them and was able to schedule an appointment for after work hours (they have a variety of hours to serve people who can't just do the 8-5.) I wanted to expedite this process so Christy (customer service rep) came along with the technician on the visit. She was able to provide me immediate information on my needs, give me a quote on the spot and she even brought a portable air conditioner for me. I was able to schedule an appointment for a couple days away on a Saturday which was amazing. The two technicians that came out were friendly and knowledgeable. I have been a long time customer of Care Heating & Cooling. They are very trustworthy and always get the job done. However, the only reason I gave 4 out of 5 stars this time was because "my window of time" for my service was supposed to be between 12-4pm. However, the Service Tech (Kelly) did not show up until 6pm. Now, I know she go held up at some other jobs throughout the day...but I would think that the main office should have given me a courtesy call to let me know that she was running very late. At any rate, Kelly did arrive with a big smile on her face, was very knowledgeable and efficient. She did a great job and I would highly recommend her! read more

I called and was basically told well they are running behind and that we are next. Ok, but why were we never told they were running behind, or even given another option to reschedule, or possibly get some type of discount. Do not use this company! Apparently something has changed and they used to be good, but are not any more. I set up an appointment to have a technician take a look at our furnace and tell us whether it would be in our best interest to fix the existing (original) or install a new one. When I called to set up the appointment, the lady said it would be $29 for them to come out and diagnose the problem. I said ok and booked it from 5-8pm. I get a call from the tech on the day of the appointment at 4:15, while I'm at a Dr appointment. He says he can be there in 15 minutes. I said that will not work, I am at a Dr appointment and my appointment window with him is from 5-8. He said I needed to call the office and reschedule then. I was a little dumbfounded since my appt wasn't until 5. He said he would call the office and let them know that I would be calling. Ok, click. 5 mins later he calls back and says he will be there at 5. I should have said "don't bother" at that point. We pull up right at 5pm and the tech is there waiting, My husband unlocks the door to the house. The tech gets out of his car and walks right past us (doesn't introduce himself) and walks right in the house, straight to the furnace. Umm... Nice to meet you. He looks at the furnace and said that 4/5 heat strips are gone and would need replaced. It would probably be cheaper to buy a new furnace. He didn't know the cost of the two options and said he would get back to us. We also asked him to take a look at the heat pump to make sure it was in good working order. He said it was running fine and we just needed a furnace. Now it comes time to pay for the service fee. He says it's $29 to come out and then another $65.99 for a "Minor Field Adjustment". I asked what the $65.99 was for and he said to open up the furnace and diagnose it and also said that technically he should charge us another $65.99 for looking at the heat pump. I said, no the lady said $29 to come out AND diagnose the problem. He said, well you don't have to pay it if you don't want to. What does that mean?? So I called the office while he was still there and the lady said, I don't know what he is talking about, it's only $29. She then called him and told him the same. His response was, I wasn't trying to rip you off or anthing. Uh, whatever dude. After he leaves, I call the office back and tell the lady the whole story start to finish. She said she would have the manager call me the next day and that a sales guy (who is supposed to be super great) will call with an estimate for a new furnace and heat pump. 1). The tech never called to give the repair price, as promised. 2) the sales guy never called with a quote for a new system, as promised. 3) the manager never called me to discuss how horrible my whole experience was, as promised. So I paid $29 and wasted my time for absolutely nothing. The sad thing is that my mom recommended them because she had a good experience with them in the past. She is a realtor and has been referring people to them for some time. She said the last people she recommended had a bad experience too. She will no longer recommend this company. They will try to scam you and do not care, like there motto says. read more

I have used CARE for 12 years. When we moved to an area they didnt cover, I was truly disappointed. We had used them in the past to repair and do seasonal maintenance on a unit they had mot installed. They were always great and rarely was there any additional charge for some part I supposedly needed- usually they had whatever thing it was with them and would just fix it. We decided to call them again this year when we needed a new AC. My husband said lets just see if I can convince them to come out here. We had a horrible experience last year with DorMar (furnace repair) and we just needed someone we could trust. Fortunately they were now covering our area. We got an honest assessment of what our home needed- as a matter of fact when I was leaning towards a more expensive unit, the saleswoman first, addressed our needs and wants and then suggested a different unit that was less expensive. It was a difficult installation and they were here longer than usual. And not one guy with a bad attitude about it- quite the opposite. After installation, my husband and I were not happy with the way they had moved our furnace in order to replace necessary parts. I now found it hard to get into my filter area and my husband didnt like how the gas line was now. They were back out immediately and fixed it to our liking. And let me tell you, there was no one with a bad attitude about it. They were quite pleasant and checked with us before they left to be sure things were the way we wanted. So after a 7 year hiatus from their service, I can say theyre still operating at the stellar level I had known in the past. Prices are great too! read more

I called this company back in October because the AC wasn't working, they told me they couldn't fix it until the outside temperature is in the 70's, so until March, if it was warm enough for the AC, well too bad. (I found out later that that is just not true). I am in the Army in Alabama but have some people living in my house in Ohio so "Care" doesn't care that I'm helping to make their country free. They are charging me $89 just because someone is living in my house. The technician just sent me an estimate for $702 to put EZ Seal and some Freon in the unit. The guy had no clue what he was doing and wasn't even sure what was wrong with the unit!. I had the SAME thing done to my house in Alabama last summer (EZ Seal) and it cost less than $200. Needless to say, I found someone else other than CARE that will do it for less that 1/4th of their cost! read more

I signed up for the yearly maintenance package two years ago and I am pleased with the service. No hard sell and good maintenance. Lots of peace of mind going into both the summer and winter seasons. They make service calls twice a year and check filters and use diagnostic tools to check the systems. We are also on a priority list in case of a breakdown. read more

WE first knew of Care Heating and Cooling about 2 1/2years ago. They came to the rescue when the AC failed. They did needed repairs and because of their attention then....we had them install 2yrs ago a new Lennox 5ton. Now 4days ago a switch went out. I called over the weekend and learned they were unavailable and never on Sunday. But because we have the maintenance plan they squeezed us in on Monday. Then they did not have the switch part, but assured us they would have the part in the morning and once they had the part they would come do the needed repair.....then first thing in the morning they called and said they had the part, but it would be between 12-3pm...at 3pm we called again and learned the other job was being finished and they would be coming....from where I asked? Galena....now they have had the part since this AM and were suppose to come first thing, so I guess they just drove all over Columbus and now they have to drive from Galena to New Albany and instead of 12-3, it looks like 4 or 4:30...doesn't appear to be first thing once they have the part. Frankly, I've experienced better. Repairs have been made as of 5pm...Tech was nice and did a good thorough job, but the administrative end of this was not good! read more

Our AC unit died during a heat wave of many 90+ degree days in a row. Everyone we called to get a quote was working 10 - 14 days out for installation so we eliminated that as a selection criteria. However, in addition to CARE's competitive price quote, they also offered to loan us room air conditioners (no charge) for our bedrooms so we wouldn't be completely miserable while trying to sleep and waiting for installation of our new AC. I can't tell you how much we appreciated having 72 degree bedrooms when the rest of our house was 92 degrees. Plus, they had a cancelation and managed to fit in our installation earlier than planned. Kenny (the gentleman who gave us the proposal and brought the room AC units) was super responsive and helpful. As I'm sure occasionally happens with these projects, they ran into some unexpected issues while installing the new Lennox AC unit on top of our existing Bryant furnace. They were also raising the entire furnace/AC up off the floor so it could "breathe" better and hopefully last longer than our last one did. In spite of the issues they encountered, the CARE guys stayed with the project even though it meant they were here for a solid 12 hours straight. I know it had to be frustrating, but they were professional the whole time and brought in the resources necessary to get it to the finish line. They even came back 2 weeks later to make the job look cosmetically better (they needed a part they didn't have originally). Finally, even though I'm sure they spent twice the amount of time they were budgeting, they stuck to the original quote. So we couldn't be happier with how this went and I'll never use anyone but CARE for HVAC issues. read more

I had them install my heating and cooling system and do the preventive maintenance for the past 5 years. all the techs that come out are helpful and done a fine job. they do offer products that might help or protect the system but no high pressure sales, no pressure to replace mystery parts that are not even an issue at this time, in a field that abuse can and does happen ( replace of parts that still have years of service left, repair things that do not need fixed...) Care HC is one of those business that can be trusted. read more

i wish i could agree. i thought they were great at first. they repaired one 2o year old furnance, but now it is not working and they told me they would not look at it again and wanted me to buy a new one. i had someone else come out and it was a simple fix. one of their techs was rude and insaulting to me when i told them i could not afford a new furnance. they got mad at me becasue i showed emontion other than happiness in front of them. i really did think i was going with a class company. read more
