We were treated with kindness, understanding and high quality care. The facility, itself, is warm and inviting, feels like a "bed and breakfast"! His every need was met. The nursing and assistant staff were all wonderful from Lexi, the administrator, Alex, an aide and Jazmin and Maita, Indal and Cosmos, our nurses who were skilled and very pleasant and attentive. The dining room staff was also excellent. The facility is very clean and inviting. The daily craft sessions were entertaining and much appreciated! Almost all those who cared for her when I was present did so in a very professional manner upon my observation. Overall I feel it is an excellent facility though I do have a few questions. I noticed that there are not any cameras there. One morning when I arrived earlier than usual and there was a situation I found alarming in my mother's room so I approached the only staff I saw present at the time to alert her. The staff member did not seem happy that I pointed what I saw out and was belligerent. I wanted to report this yet when I tried I was told that the staff member said I invaded her personal space which I didn't and that there were witnesses. Actually though I never invaded her space and since her and I were the only ones in the room I don't see how there could have been witnesses. Saying this though highlights the fact that if there were cameras it would allow those in charge to see what really happened. Safety inside and outside of facilities like this is important for many reasons.

We truly needed someone onsite who could take ownership of my mom's care and clearly communicate with us about what was happening and what was needed. Kiara has been an absolute lifesaver for both my mom and our family. She consistently shows genuine compassion, attentiveness, and a strong sense of responsibility in everything she does. Every day, she goes above and beyond, and she is truly a pleasure to work with. When Kiara began caring for my mom--who was 100 years old at the time--she was nearly bedridden and not doing well. I called a variety of agencies but once I connected with custom it just felt right. Sheila scheduled a visit while in rehab and then home visit before he transitioned home. Their advice, reccomendations and everything has been stellar. They are able to accomodate needs quickly and have a large, excellent pool of caregivers. They were able to provide male caregivers as well which was a major plus. We have used custom for about 4 months now and it only gets better. The caregivers have ALL been professional, knowledgeable and people you feel very comfortable leaving alone with my neighbor. Each one has been outstanding in keeping me informed and I know my friend is watched out for and safe. If you researching these options I understand how stressful and discouraging it can be. Its a very difficult process but I can assure you that custom has exceeded our expectations. Highest praise and highest respect to EVERY one I have talked to at custom home. They amount of stress that has been removed knowing we chose wisely is the most wonderful feeling ever.

There was an early incident that was reported and never happened again, with shaving his face before we visit. Someone do it without shaving cream or anything. So that never happened again. They are really careful about safety, making sure patients don't fall. They have daily activities which is nice, I do think the food is just basic, so we bring him breakfast in occasionally or take him for lunch. I really like the front desk staff, nurses, and assistants. Laundry is always difficult to sort out. It just seems his clothes are never where they should be. That's my personal issue, but I get that it's a floor with memory loss. Otherwise I really recommend. Has a family feeling and good care.

Rainbow Hospice was nothing short of a Godsend for my mother and our family. After a stay in the…read moreICU at Resurrection Medical Center, we spoke with Ashley, the director of Rainbow Hospice. I did not know she was a nurse at first since she did not share her credentials up front. Instead, she came off as someone who was warm, and welcoming, patient, and wanting to be transparent when it came to explaining what they were about and what hospice looks like. We met her at the hospital while we were trying to plan for our mom's next steps. She gave us a tour of the Rainbow Ark Hospice inpatient unit, which looked more comfortable, cozy, and single rooms looked less like a standard hospital room, but more like bedrooms at home. The family waiting areas with large sofas and a fireplace were a special touch. It was our mother's wishes to have comfort care and refuse life-sustaining procedures if it meant her quality of life would not improve. After a long battle with dementia, it was time to make that step and honor her wishes. Rainbow Hospice made sure all of the equipment needed for my mom was at home before discharge. They actually started calling about the delivery of her hospital bed and other equipment while we were still at the hospital! They were very quick. They transported mom back home with dignity and grace using a private ambulance. The EMTs were so kind and gentle with our mom, explaining everything they were doing and taking their time. All of the staff that came to see our mother - nurses Maria, Shirley, Marylou, CNA Debbie, social worker Megan, and chaplain Concy were phenomenal. They were so compassionate, caring, answering every question our family and I had about mom's prognosis and care. Due to being in the end stages of dementia, our mother could no longer speak, eat, hold her head up (she was completely bed bound) , but every single one of them greeted mom warmly, looked her in the eyes, and talked her through what they would be doing for the day. They showed her such respect. Chaplain Concy was so thoughtful and touching in his prayers with our mom. He even played church hymns our mother loved on his flute the last time he visited her before she passed. This was a touching surprise that she loved and really responded to with her eyes, showing she enjoyed it. Concy knew we were interested in the getting blessing from the priest at a home visit, and within a couple of hours of his last visit, we received a call from my mom's parish. The priest came shortly to give my mom the sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick. He was so attentive and very thoughtful to have done this. Sadly, our mother had passed a few days later, only after being on hospice for 11 days. The on-call nurses at Rainbow were so helpful: Jillian, Kathy, Ann Marie. The last couple of days, we called around the clock, and they did not make it seem like we were a bother at all. Mom never got to spend time at the inpatient unit, but bringing her home and seeing her loved by her hospice team is more than we could ever ask for. I could not end this review without giving a special thanks to Marylou, the nurse who came to see our mom shortly after she passed, and pronounced her. Marylou had other appointments before being scheduled to see my mom that day (for a regular visit), but after hearing of her passing, she prioritized our mom. She helped us clean her and prepare her with such care and integrity. She took her time with us, and even called the funeral home on our behalf. She was really such a blessing, and we expressed our gratitude for her that day. Thank you so much to the wonderful team at Rainbow Hospice! You gave our family a wonderful send off for our mom by helping make her comfortable in her last few days at home. Words are not enough to express how much you have made such a lasting beautiful impact on mom and our family. It means the world.
