Tony is AMAZING. I had been my mom's caregiver since she was diagnosed with dementia five years ago, but it recently became too severe for me to care for her at home. We were really crunched on time as the hospital was telling us she needed to be discharged, but neither my home or my parents home would be unable to make those accommodations for her to safely be there. I was referred to Tony from a similar business in Northern California. My father has frontal temporal dementia and requires specific care that cannot be managed at home. My sister and I first looked for places for my father in Fresno California, the Bay Area, and then Los Angeles. We originally moved my father to the Bay Area, but when the place he was at did not work out, we again returned to Tony to find a place for my dad in Los Angeles. Tony has been great to work with. When I originally told him the kind of places we were looking for, he found a variety of options that might work. He even tried to convince my dad that moving was in my dads best interest. When we first decided to move my father we thought we wanted a smaller Board and Care place. Tony showed us several that might work, but we ultimately went with the one that we thought would be the best fit for my dad in the Bay Area. However, it was not! When I called Tony a few months later to tell him we again had to move my dad, Tony was very supportive of the move. He encouraged us to provide notice to leave immediately even though we have not found a place because he was confident he could find something that would work. Given the new facility type we were looking for (larger facility with dementia care), he again looked for a place for us. Ultimately only showed me one facility in Southern California that was a larger facility that he thought would not only work with my dad but our budget. We have since moved my father into this place and my father has expressed how happy he is there! Tony correctly assessed my father and found a place that was a wonderful fit for him socially as well as for his physical needs. But one thing I would like to note about Tony is that I think he has negotiated prices in ways that no other care placement person I have worked with has done. Again, we worked with people in Fresno and the Bay Area. Of the three we worked with, Tony was the only one who seemed to really work to find something in our budget and even tried to negotiate prices down for us. First of all, even if you are smart, can negotiate a bone from a pit bull or think you want to handle your loved ones details, DON'T! I was a real estate broker for many years. I loved negotiating, but I don't know the exact details of this business. I do know it is a BIG BUSINESS. Rip off artists are easy to find. The facilities are easy to get tricked by and BEFORE you move in it's the time to negotiate and cross all your t's. TONY WAS ON TOP OF THIS FOR US. It was all by telephone. It was all from 2000 miles apart and it was all because I "felt" like he was a good man. A good human being with a truly kind heart and honest giving spirit. I've dealt with many other people from these companies over the years for my Aunt, who never ended up moving, but this time he was special. He wasn't pushing me or desperate for a placement at my Aunts expense. He wanted us happy. He wanted our budget to match our placement. He listened so well and heard what I was saying. When I found out we were going to need to move my mom out of a Skilled Nursing Facility, which I was extremely happy with and knew my mom was receiving amazing care, I was at a loss. A friend found Tony's name on the Internet. She checked out his reviews and called me with his number. I contacted Tony and we chatted about what my mom's needs would be, our price range and location preferences. Within 2 days he called me with a list. We were blessed to find a placement for mom that met all of our specifications, except one, but with pluses in every other category, we went for it. We had requested a private room, but this particular home only had a shared space. So far mom is enjoying her roommate and is happy at No Place Like Home. She is socializing and fit right in. I think that is pretty amazing since we only moved her in yesterday While all of this has been wonderful and made our lives much easier, the thing that really meant a lot to me was his follow through and assistance in helping solve a small glitch. He didn't just find us a place, and then walk away, he was available to iron out a small kink, which was actually a misunderstanding on our part, with the owners and together they brainstormed some ideas.
