A special place...hidden gem! Great food service and ambience. Be sure to make a reservation.

We were promptly greeted and seated. Our server came over right away and offered drinks and had bread and butter sent to the table. She took our drink order and meal order as well. I had the linguine with seafood, very good and generous portion. My wife had the veal parmigiana which came with lemon butter sauce with rigatoni. She didn't like the marinara sauce though it was a little acidic. For dessert we had a piece of apple bread pudding to go. Very good service.

First time at this restaurant, a young lady hostess greeted us, and we were seated quickly. The place seemed very quiet, with a small bar. Our server was pleasant and went over the specials which we passed on. We ordered some drinks, apps, and two main dishes, which were just OK and not worth the price or second chance. Overall we did not feel welcomed.

Service and food were both excellent! Cioppino and hogfish were recommended both were delicious. What a little gem for the area!

Outside of Italy, Venice Florida is a wonderful place to eat old-school Italian food. In fact, there are many choices when you want to visit an Italian restaurant in this part of Florida. Your first decision is to decide what kind of Italian food you want, a pizza place, a sit at the bar, watch TV and eat pasta type place, or maybe a special occasion place. We were hosting an out-of-town guest who has traveled in Italy extensively, so we wanted to impress him a bit. Lucarelli's was our choice. Quite unassuming from the outside, the small restaurant sits in a strip mall on the 41. Inside, the vibe is New York City or Boston neighborhood upscale Italian clubhouse. And Italian wine list and traditional Italian food, all excellent. There are white tablecloth and waiters that genuinely care about your food and table service. A bottle of Super Tuscan wine got us warmed up. My meal started with a fresh Caesar salad which included anchovies. For the main course I enjoyed the veal piccata, well portioned medallions of veal that were dipped in egg and flour and simmered perfectly in a lemony butter sauce and then topped with capers and served over a bed of al dente pasta. Absolutely delicious! This is a place to eat exceptional Italian food and you might even want to consider it for a special occasion in Venice. You won't be disappointed, you can count on coming here for a great dinner.

    Ask the Community - Lucarelli's

Does it have a full bar?

Yes we ordered drinks, I always however opt for the Italian beer.

Why would this restaurant close at 8?

Because people eat dinner early in Venice Florida.

After golf we prefer the bar rather than the main dining room. Their bar menu has shrimp tacos, beef Wellington, mussels and ahi tuna and many other upscale meals. We do miss the live music in the lounge. Sigh. Folks if you want a fantastic meal this is where you need to go. The main dining room has a fantastic menu which includes steakhouse fare and one or two seafood dishes. The lounge has an upscale bar menu. All in all I have no idea why it was so easy to get in. We didn't have a reservation but were seated promptly in about 10 minutes. This must be a popular place for celebrations as we were asked by 3 different people, literally every employee we interacted with, if we were celebrating anything...tonight we were just celebrating dinner! I was prepared to splurge and spend any amount of money tonight. Started with a couple of old fashioned drinks. They had an impressive Bourbon menu, however...They didn't have the Blantons Gold, didn't have the regular Blantons, No Eagle Rare, only had enough Four Roses for one, it was hard to get anything special as the actual selection was limited. We ordered the $22 Bacon wrapped scallop appetizer and were disappointed to only get 3 very small scallops. They were good but we expected more for the price. How do 2 people split 3 tiny scallops? They came on a bed of spinach, which I enjoyed. I ordered the 11oz strip steak with blue cheese crust which was cooked as ordered and tasted fine. Nothing special, but a decent steak. My wife enjoyed the pink snapper however, she ordered rice and it came with potato wedges instead. Our server was very nice and was attentive. However the second round of drinks took too long to come to the table. Like 15 minutes too long. Our meal with appetizers and drinks and tip was around $200. We will definitely come back and I might even try their all you can eat bbq option. Maybe I'll be celebrating something...

I started with the pain pill cocktail - their version of a pain killer. It was really tasty. It came in a very tall glass with some cinnamon sprinkle. The pineapple was fresh. While I looked over the menu, she brought out some warm crusty rolls with salted butter. Yummmmm. I was famished so I dug in. They had so many things on the menu I was a bit in information overload. I started with the coconut shrimp, which they say is a house specialty. The dipping sauce was interesting - like a cold coconut milk? The shrimp were butterflied and lightly fried. There is four on the plate. Pretty good. For dinner, I had the fresh catch with mashed potatoes and the zucchini medley. The medley had zucchini. squash, onions and red bell pepper in it. They have other sides like sweet potato as well. You get your choice of two. The entree came with a side salad. It was a small portion. It had some sweet candied nuts on it, with some shredded mixed cheese and a side of their house French dressing. Some of the pieces of lettuce were really long so it was kinda messy to eat. The red snapper was my choice of fresh catch. I asked for it grilled but the other option is blackened. The fish was a good portion. About 6 to 8 ounces. The mashed potatoes were delicious. I enjoyed my meal and I was too stuffed for dessert. But I saw the bread pudding with ice cream at another table. Wow! The scoop of ice cream on that dish was huge! The key lime ice cream pie sounded interesting and I imagine they have a good tiramisu. Next time I'll get dessert. Service was stellar. I was not bothered but I was checked on often for another drink and water etc. plates were cleared often but did not distract me. I really enjoyed being outside because they had a one man band playing guitar and singing so wonderfully. It's a gorgeous setting outside. A bit warm, but I was gross from golf anyways. They do have quite a few fans but I'm glad I was away from them. I hate when I'm trying to eat and it's all I can do to keep my hair from blowing in my face and mouth from overzealous ceiling fans. Bathrooms are clean and well stocked. Parking is a private lot out front and I easily found a space. This place was recommended by a coworker. I am so glad I took her recommendation!
