This summer I hired We Care Tree Care to remove one tree in my backyard and to perform light trimming of my Locust tree in the front yard. Tree removal was fine but the men did not speak to me before trimming the tree in front and decided to heavily thin out and remove most of the limbs and follage. When I said it was only suppose to be a light trimming they told me they decided it needed much more cut back. My tree is unrecognizable and I don't know if it will ever look good again. This review is based on estimate process. We did not hire We Care Tree Care to do the work because the business does not have a contractors license for tree removal. Our project was regarding removal of 3 large redwood trees. Prior to the appointment, I asked Michael Fisher to send me the license number. He promptly replied with a proof of insurance but no contractor licenses. At the appointment for the estimate I asked again. At the appointment, he said, "I don't remember the license number." The estimate form gives a lic # which is not valid as a contractors license. Checking on the Contractors State License Board website there is no contractors license, searching by license number, business name, or name of Michael Fisher or his partner James Silva. I consider how Michael handled this inquiry about contractor license to be evasive and misleading. That is the entire reason my critical review. read more

From start to finish, We Care Tree Care was professional, prompt, and communicative. After sending a request for a quote via Yelp, I was contacted by Michael to schedule the visit for an estimate in under 30 minutes. The work was for a tree removal, a shrub removal, and three citrus trees that were in desperate need of thinning and shaping. Since our project was relatively small, Michael did warn us that he might need a few extra days to line up additional work for his crew. (Since COVID-19 has us working from home, our availability was very open to working with that particular need of a small business.) We did get several different quotes for the work and Michael's was by far the most reasonable by several hundred dollars. Michael contacted me the morning they were to arrive, to advise me they would likely be about 30 min behind the intended start time. However, the crew arrived on time at 8:30 and worked efficiently; within an hour and a half the guys were leaving our yard clean, the work beautifully completed, and headed on to their next project. My husband and I hired We Care Tree Care to remove 4 Modesto Ash trees from our front and back yard. They were by far the most competitive bid. They showed up on time with a call beforehand, were up front and honest about any complications (Like when we found out one of the trees was chock full of huge metal nails that were dulling their chainsaw).
