Couldn't find a local vet open on a Sunday so we ended up taking our pet here. The staff at Tulare-Kings Veterinary Emergency Services was professional and compassionate. We got into a waiting room right away. It did take a while to be seen by a vet, likely because our pet's issue wasn't as severe as others posted on their priority list. Not a knock on them, but just be prepared that you could be here a couple of hours. They were transparent with costs before anything was administered and provided next steps we needed for care.

About a year ago I took my cat in because he had a cyst on his left cheek. I was told he had RSV and that I should immediately put him down because his I kept him alive he would be suffering. The doctor was telling me this over the phone while keeping my cat in custody. I refused and picked him up. A year later my cat is alive and well, he's the happiest cat. I was told by another vet that RSV will bring his immune system down but will overall have a good rest of his life. I don't know what that doctor was thinking, it felt like he was trying to force me to put my cat down. Will not recommend this place. I paid THEM just for them not to do ANYTHING about his cheek. My cat was in pain and they just wasted time.

I brought my dog, Peaches, here after she had already been seen by two other veterinarians the week before. The first vet prescribed antibiotics for what they believed was an infection, but after several days there was no improvement, and she began having bloody discharge. I then took her to another veterinarian, who referred us to an internist. They suspected a foxtail may have somehow made its way into her vaginal area, but after not finding one, they worried she might have a polyp or even a mass that could be benign or cancerous. Needless to say, I was terrified. As soon as I got home, I started calling the internists they recommended, but unfortunately, the earliest appointment I could get was a week away. In the meantime, the bleeding became worse, so I decided to take Peaches to the ER at Fresno Veterinary Specialists. It was the best decision I could have made. From the moment we walked in, everyone was kind and welcoming. We waited about an hour or two, which I completely understood, knowing there were other pets in need of urgent care. Once we were called back, the technician took the time to ask questions and gather information. Shortly afterward, Dr. Randy came in. He was thorough, compassionate, and genuinely concerned about Peaches. He explained what he thought might be going on and recommended sedating her so he could get a better look. I'm so grateful he did because he found a foxtail deeply embedded in her vaginal wall! He removed it, sent her home with antibiotics, and, to be safe, recommended that we still keep our appointment with the internist. Thankfully, the bleeding stopped the very next day and has not returned. Peaches is now back to her sweet, happy self. We did keep the appointment with the internist, and after examining Peaches, they agreed that no further procedures were necessary and that she appeared to be in good health. I can't thank Dr. Randy and the entire team at Fresno Veterinary Specialists enough for the exceptional care they provided. They gave me peace of mind and, most importantly, helped my sweet girl get back to feeling like herself again. Thank you all so much!

We were dealing with an emergency situation with our 18-year-old fur baby, and they went above and beyond to help make sure we could get in when we needed it most. A special thank you to Dr. Blair (I hope I'm spelling the name correctly), who delivered the inevitable bad news with such care and understanding. His vets office was not open on the weekends so we loaded him in my truck and took him to VCA on Saturday night. He was assesed and deemed "stable" and we were dismissed. I was shocked that they were not interested in trying to determine the cause of the tender abdomen or lack of appetite. The next morning (Sunday) he seemed worse.. Not really responding to any of his JOY triggers or favorite people. He was just hiding under the bed. So, we loaded him back up and went back VCA. Once again, after a 2 minute "assessment" we were refused treatment because they determined he was stable enough to go home and make an appointment with our own vet. I thought for sure that they at least run some blood work or obtain some imagery of his tender abdomen, but nope, nothing. By Monday morning he was lethargic and my vet was able to squeeze him in for treatment. They did labwork and an xray/ultrasound. Determined he had a huge stone in his bladder, and we were sent to the emergency vet on Easton. By this time, the numbers coming up in his labwork were pretty soul crushing.. He was in critical condition. The stone had blocked the bladder from emptying and that caused the bladder to rupture. We made the choice to end his suffering. I truly believe that if VCA would have performed an xray then they would have seen the blockage and would have helped him empty his bladder, preventing it from rupturing. PLEASE update your policy and use more thorough assessment. My dog would still be alive if he hadn't been turned away, twice, without a proper assessment.

I did have an option to go over pricing prior to any procedures being done however I said "do what needs to be done" and she ballparked the price for me which actually was very accurate. I can tell you that the price was pretty close to what it would've been at my previous Vet, and probably the same or slightly cheaper than the Vet that I currently have. I feel like the poor reviews this place has gotten is based on people with unrealistic expectations. The emergency services here operate just like they would at a human emergency room. Unstable patients take precedent over stable patients. My cat received excellent care and I would not hesitate to use their services again.

Around 8pm on march 21st my cat started having trouble breathing and she started convulsing. She wasn't breathing until my brother would shake her to start breathing again. We rushed her to this emergency clinic but she sadly passed away in my brothers arms in the car just two minutes from the clinic. The team was fantastic. One of the members there who took my cat to the back let us stay there for as long as I needed and didn't judge me for crying loudly. My mother paid $600 in total for my beloved cat to be cremated and to have a clay print of her paws which in my opinion is a great price. About a week(ish) later we got to pick up her ashes and the clay print we were promised and I believe the team went above and beyond. I received a card with the team's signatures and a certificate of cremation.

Despite being fully aware of her condition, the clinic sent her home with oral medications that she was unable to keep down. No IV fluids were provided, and her condition worsened significantly the following day, forcing us to seek care elsewhere. To make matters worse, we later learned that the dosage of medication she was sent home with appeared inappropriate for her small size. As pet owners, we trusted that the medications and dosages being prescribed were safe and appropriate. Learning that there were concerns about the dosage only added to our worry and frustration. What is most frustrating is the lack of communication and accountability. We were under the impression that certain treatments had been provided, only to later discover discrepancies in what was actually administered. We have also been told after the fact that hospitalization was recommended, but that was never clearly communicated to my mother during the visit. Had she been properly informed that her dog's condition was serious enough to require hospitalization, she would have taken immediate action. When we sought a second opinion, we were advised that injectable anti-nausea medication, antibiotics, and supportive care should have been considered given the symptoms our dog was experiencing. Instead, she was sent home with oral medication despite being unable to keep anything down. We attempted to resolve our concerns directly and professionally with the clinic before sharing our experience publicly. Unfortunately, rather than acknowledging our concerns, our request for a refund was denied. Pet owners trust veterinary clinics during some of the most stressful moments imaginable. We expected compassionate care, clear communication, and appropriate treatment. Instead, we were left with a much sicker dog, significant emotional distress, and additional veterinary expenses to address issues that we believe should have been handled appropriately from the beginning. I encourage anyone considering this clinic to ask detailed questions, request copies of all treatment records, and carefully review the care plan and medications being recommended for their pet.

We went to Alta Animal Hospital because they could fit us in on the day we called. We ended up waiting for over an hour and a half past our "appointment" in their cramped waiting area before they even called on us, then there was a lot of waiting in the exam room. When the doctor finally came in, he was pleasant. Then he said someone would be in to "present" the treatment plan and bill. Then the tech comes back in after a while and looks at me and my wife and says, "ok, who will I be *presenting* the bill to?" You would be absolutely correct if by now you are assuming they were fully intending to rip us off. For 6mo of flea medication (Simparica Trio), they charged $300. (Later on, I researched online and it should've probably been $200-$225). They also had several other medications for which they no doubt also completely overcharged us. Total bill was $1200 (!!). Front desk staff (seemed like doctor's wife or family member) was very curt in taking our payment as we left. Now, the Simparica Trio did take care of his fleas, and pretty quickly. However, they wanted us to come back for a follow-up appointment. When we arrived for that they charged us *another exam fee* and wanted us to pay another $500 for additional medications to continue to treat his skin conditions. We paid the exam fee and left. Today we took the dog to another vet for his worsening skin issues. This vet has a much bigger and nicer waiting room, did not make us wait an inordinate amount of time, had a friendlier staff, and was overall a much better experience. For medications (that I think will work this time!) and the entire visit, the bill was $365. Including a no-cost followup visit in a few weeks. It made me think back to the experience with Alta, and realize what an incredible ripoff it was all the way around.

It took a couple days to connect the dots unfortunately but I immediately took her to the emergency vet. I have vet records showing she had no bodily trauma, no illnesses, no viruses. The only change was I opened a new bag of dog food, fed her it, and she was spraying thick bloody goo all over. The vet tested her poop and found nothing but they didn't test the food because for all of us, it was a no brainer. Well no, it has been months and it's still impossible to get in contact with this company. Target uses Sedgwick claims (which has been helpful) but kindfull has dodged emails and calls. In an email in December, they responded and said they closed the case because their food has really good testing and maybe me exposing their food to air or my hands contaminated the food. ??? Are you serious? The same air and hands all of her other food have been exposed to. I made it clear that it only happens after she eats this because I fed her some of the food at the vet office to replicate what's been happening. She has diarrhea within 20 minutes. I wouldn't trust kindfull dog food or treats anymore as there is clearly some shady practice going on to avoid being accountable or seen in a bad light. I could not see those people that I was checking in with, so I entered a warehouse and came up to a forklift driver and I asked him what was taking so long.
