This was quite possibly the worst, most disappointing experience I have ever had. We took our long haired dachshund in because she was consistently pooping blood. We were told there would be a wait, which was expected as it is a first priority based place. What was not expected was to be told either pay $165 to wait for hours in a room and then pay an additional $2000 for bloodwork, X-rays, etc. or to just pay the $2000 up front to "skip the line". No vet looked at her, there was no exam, there was not even an idea of what could be causing this or what they would be testing for. After discussing with my husband, we thought we would try to keep her comfortable at home until our vet opened in the morning. We were home for an hour and then our dog began throwing up blood as well as pooping it. I decided to take her back because I was so worried she was getting dehydrated. Her gums were looking pale at this point and the diarrhea and vomit was constant. I took her back in and paid the $165 for the room. They knew why I was there because I had already come in. They had me wait two hours before anyone came in. At this point, my dog had been having bloody diarrhea and bloody vomit for 8 hours NONSTOP. I had to go to the receptionist and ask for dog pads because my dog was getting blood all over myself and all over their floors. I also went to the receptionist after two hours had past and asked if anyone was coming to see my dog. She seemed surprised no one had yet. She went to the back room to ask and that's when I got really upset. Their walls are thin and I heard every word and someone back there had the audacity to say, "Well if she hadn't left we would have seen her already!" This made me extremely upset. I was already heartbroken that I could do nothing for my dog and feeling helpless and sobbing and to hear that was like a slap in the face. So when the vet tech came into the room I was really upset after he told me that two hours later all they would do is the $2000 blood work. I asked if they could get her fluids, anti nausea, ANYTHING TO MAKE HER COMFORTABLE while we were waiting. He refused and repeated what I heard through the walls. That it was my fault I didn't stay earlier. I was even told that I would have to leave her overnight...the place closed at 7 am and it was already 3:30 am at this point. By the time they did all of this testing and got me results and a treatment plan, I could have taken her into her vet that opened at 7:00 am and that's exactly what I did. And that's when I made the decision that I would rather have my dog of 7 years die in my arms at home then give one cent to these people. I got ahold of her amazing vet and they got her in right away, knew immediately that she had HGE based on her symptoms and giving her a BASIC physical examination, and started treating her immediately. I paid $2,800 for EVERYTHING: bloodwork, xray, medications, treatment, hospitalization for three days, etc. When I was being asked to pay $2000 up front at this place with no ideas of what it could be and refusal to start anything that could possibly make her feel any better. My problem was not the wait. Or the order of priority. My problem is that they will not do anything to help your dog when it is clearly in distress and dying without intervention. Fluids are a BASIC essential to vomiting to help with dehydration. So is an anti nausea. Anything to stop the vomiting or diarrhea and then they could have ran every test in the world. On top of that, I was basically shamed into trying to make the best decision for the dog that I love and consider family. I'm so disturbed by this place and how they so clearly prey on vulnerable people in the Central Valley who have no where else to go in an emergency. Heartless cruel people who care more about money than they do about the well being of animals. Took my cat to be seen the day after she'd given birth due to some light bleeding. Just off a short look they immediately recommended euthanizing WITHOUT a look from the main doctor "because they don't have time" they also refused to give advice on the health of the kittens and on bottle feeding without paying separate fees for their check up after already paying for the check up on their mother. They weren't even willing to offer advice on caring for the kittens since they were claiming their mother is dying. I've never felt so helpless and had people with the means to help show me no remorse. Not to mention it's advertised to be open 24/7 but nobody answers the phone or opens the door at 5am. Girls were all rude and could not be more desensitized to these situations. People come here at some of the lowest points in their lives, when their fur baby is suffering and all these people could offer is snarky remarks, inadequate service and overpriced consultations they're near inhumane. Look, I totally understand peoples' frustration with this place: you're bringing in a furry family member that is sick or injured and being asked to pay a lot of money upfront. That can feel cold and unfeeling, but it's just how emergency rooms work. Personally, I found the receptionists to be caring and considerate, which is pretty amazing considering the types of issues they're seeing all day every day. Both the tech and the vet were efficient and communicated all recommended procedures and costs I felt like my little kitty was in good hands and they weren't trying to gouge me, they just wanted to help. Are you seen quickly? Well, that all depends on how busy they are and the what kind of issues the patients have. Just like a people emergency room, higher priority cases are going to be seen first. That means you might get bumped from next in line, so be prepared to spend some time there. Is it expensive? Sure, but it's an emergency vet that is open when other vets are closed. They do have a couple of financing options available if you need assistance in paying. Overall, very thankful for the team here. read more

My dog recently passed here, and they spent more time discussing how I would pay them then they gave me to grieve my dog. While I don't blame this clinic for her death since she went septic after surgery, I absolutely blame the overnight staff for how cold and uncaring they were in her final hours. The communication was inconsistent at best and misleading at worst. I was told by a vet tech that she would likely die before any tests were finalized, only for the actual Vet to give a more hopeful update after a glucose treatment and discussion of transferring her to a 24/7 hospital in Fresno. Meanwhile, her actual medical record listed her prognosis as "guarded to poor." Despite knowing how serious her condition was, they refused to allow me to stay with her or figure out a way I could be present if she passed, despite me being the only customer they had in the building at that time. Being given false hope while being kept at a distance during her final moments is something I will never forgive and would warn anyone bringing their pet here this may also be done to you and your beloved pet. When she did pass, the lack of basic compassion became even more obvious. I was given barely any time with her, less than a minute, before being asked, whether I wanted cremation or to take her body. I am assuming something they were rushing since they were nearing their closing time. Again, they spent more time with me discussing payment than they allowed for me to grieve with my dog. Thankfully, I decided to take her body to her regular vet to allow me time to say goodbye. Additionally, what made it worse was the staff in the back laughing and making comments while this was happening. The walls are thin, and with no one else in the building, it was very easy to hear. Hearing that kind of behavior while your dog is dying isn't just unacceptable, it's disturbing. This wasn't my first experience here, and there has consistently been a noticeable focus on pushing expensive treatment plans as my previous time here I overheard one of the workers trying to swindle a man who's cat was sick into paying for any service under the sun. I would strongly advise anyone considering this clinic to question everything and not blindly agree to what's recommended. Losing a pet is devastating on its own. The way this clinic handled it made an already painful experience feel callous, impersonal, and unnecessarily traumatic. Compassion should be the bare minimum in this field, and based on my experience, it was completely absent here. Of note - I do love how the managers responses to the bad reviews on here are essentially "your dog was going to die anyway, stop complaining" - further demonstrating the issue is their complete lack of compassion towards humans or animals in addition to a lack of desire to improve in anyway. read more

I just called to see how much it would cost to bring in my 14 year old dog who has a bad hacking cough to get an estimate to being her in for an exam and they said it was $160 just see her and any other lab work the vet wanted would be an additional charge. I asked if they give Veterans a discount since I'm a U.S. Army vet and they said no with no compassion whatsoever. It's sad to me that they don't seem to care if your dog is suffering. Please don't bring your animals here. Drive to Fresno. They demand a THC test regardless of what you bring your pet in for. One of my dogs had an allergic reaction to flea medication, and they refused to do anything unless we paid $180 for a THC test after having told them there is no possible way for that to happen. Tonight they said that ANY testing would start at $2,000. That was after they asked me 5 different times if my dog had THC and still didn't believe me so they let me know that while I try to figure out if I can get together $2000 tonight, that he would be DNR while we wait. All with a smile on her face. I've never experienced such a bullshit level of professionalism in my life. They have a complete and utter lack of transparency in that they do not examine your animals in front of you, and they will not tell you what they "examined". They intentionally do not do the exams in front of you. I was one of 3 people and the vets HAD NO IDEA WHAT WAS WRONG WITH ANY OF OUR ANIMALS. This place is trash. They don't care about animals as a baseline. Don't go here. I hope their pillows are hot, I hope that their car is always on empty and I sincerely hope that they aren't pet owners themselves- I can't imagine who I spoke with tonight having the empathy or compassion to take care of an animal. I called again,she told me it would be Adleast a 3 hour wait. I told her again why I was coming. I then proceeded to head that way,I called again to let them know I was on my way (my pup was all but choking) she stated that was fine,just wait in your car! Umm,what? No! So I got there. She didn't even look at my pup who was critical! Crying in pain. She told me to wait in my car. I did. 2 hours later I asked her what could make this go faster my dog was critical. She then for Adleast the 5th time told me I'm welcome to go elsewhere but it would still take awhile. So on the 4th hour they called us in. Immediately asked for my $165 dollars. Got us in a room then said we don't have a scope here to check in her throat so if anything you'll have to go to Fresno. I said I called 3 times,I told you over 4 times why I was here you never said that. She then said why would we? I was livid. I could have just went to Fresno. Then she stated that it's not the receptionists job to tell me those things. My daughter had to calm me down. She takes my dog. The doctor comes in and says I think she has pneumonia I'll do x rays. She will be back with a guesstimate of the costs. $1800! I said she don't have pneumonia! Put her to sleep and take out the stickers stuck in her throat. 20 minutes later they pulled 3 stickers out of her throat and sent us home. $800 in the hole. Bottom line is there's no cost on my baby. But these people who claim to care about our pets do anything but that. Money! About a year ago I took my cat in because he had a cyst on his left cheek. I was told he had RSV and that I should immediately put him down because his I kept him alive he would be suffering. The doctor was telling me this over the phone while keeping my cat in custody. I refused and picked him up. A year later my cat is alive and well, he's the happiest cat. I was told by another vet that RSV will bring his immune system down but will overall have a good rest of his life. First and last visit for me - I will drive to Fresno next time, without a doubt! I took my dog into this empty office at midnight. I was greeted warmly by one employee then taken back and asked about symptoms by another employee - no issues. She took my dog into the back for vitals and such. I requested we start with a stomach X-rays as I felt he ate something he shouldn't have. It was at this moment I realized their walls are thin as paper as I could hear EVERY word being said behind closed doors. The doctor was VILE in how she spoke about me and my "choices" of when I decided it was the right time to bring him in. "I'm not playing her games at 1am!" Needless to say, I was VERY uncomfortable and nervous allowing this woman to even touch my dog let alone treat him - but what choice did I have? I calmly confronted her when she came out to discuss options. She didn't deny any of it and pretty much stood her ground. "We close at 7am ya know"... You can imagine how a person feels when their pet is ill as it is. I never expected to be talked to or about the way this woman talked to/about me. Zero people skills. Then there was the constant cursing - the 3 of them (Dr included) dropping F bombs left and right. My pup ended up requiring surgery but I took him somewhere else. read more

We took our cat there because she had altered mental status, wasn't responding to us when we talked to her or called her name, had diarrhea with large amounts of mucus, was wobbly, lethargic, had sunken sides, a painful abdomen, pale gums, and no appetite. We did x-rays (sent to a radiologist) and bloodwork, which took six hours to get results, even though she was triaged as level 1. They said her bloodwork was normal, but x-rays showed something in the stomach they thought might be partially digested food, though they couldn't rule out an obstruction. They offered overnight hospitalization for "monitoring only" or to take her home. Her symptoms didn't match the possible diagnosis, and we weren't convinced. I asked about infection, and the vet said she didn't have one. We asked about organ failure--again, they said no. We requested fluids and medication for pain and nausea to take home. When I asked if they had observed her walk, they said they hadn't. Every concern we raised was dismissed. The visit cost over $1,400. We took her home and asked them to send records to our primary veterinarian. Before 8 a.m. the next morning, our primary vet called us urgently and got her in right away. They showed us her ER records and told us she had a fever of 104°F. A cat's normal temperature is 99-102°F. This level of fever can cause irreversible damage, yet the ER clinic never told us. They kept her there for six hours, knew she had a fever that high, did nothing, and sent her home. Our vet said a fever that severe could only be caused by a systemic infection. The ER clinic told us she didn't have one, but her bloodwork showed a very high white blood cell count. Her altered mental status was due to the fever. Our vet said she could have died and that we saved her life by bringing her in. He said her condition was life-threatening and that the ER's negligence nearly cost her life. They immediately gave her steroid, antibiotic, nausea, and pain injections plus more fluids and told us to return within 24 hours for recheck. Every day that week, she went in for more injections and fluids, and little by little she began improving. Our primary vet saved her life when he saw her records and realized how badly the ER had failed her. He couldn't understand why the ER discharged her or failed to tell us about her fever. A few days later, I called the ER clinic for answers. I was transferred multiple times, placed on hold, and spoke with several people who all made excuses and refused to take responsibility. They admitted they knew about her fever but claimed fluids were the only treatment needed--no antibiotics, no steroids, and no pain control. They tried to justify it by saying we "declined hospitalization." Hospitalization, to them, apparently means minimal treatment and checking vitals every few hours. True hospitalization is active treatment, constant monitoring, and clear communication with the owner. When we were offered hospitalization, we were told she wouldn't receive any other medications--just monitoring--so of course we declined. Their reasoning made no sense and only revealed more negligence. I've worked in a veterinary clinic before, so I know how things are supposed to be done. Their excuses were dishonest, and their lack of medical urgency endangered my cat's life. They refused to apologize or offer any refund despite clear medical negligence. I'm not saying I wouldn't take a pet there again in a dire emergency if it were the only option, but I will never trust them if I have any hesitation or red flag feeling. Staff was very sweet and kind. They were quick to get us in a room and take our cat to see the vet. All questions were answered and felt like they took their time and was thorough with their exams. Only thing I'd recommend is a status update. I was told 15-30 minutes for some test and waited 1.5 hours in the room with no update. I later learned an emergency had come in and they had to tend to that patient which is totally understandable but an update that the test were being postponed for a little while longer would have been nice. I almost felt like I was buying/haggling for a car. I was in a waiting room, my cat was on the other side in a holding area/exam room. I even asked for an estimate to put the cat down, but the vet refused to do that without running all the diagnostic tests first. He said I don't want to put down what seems like a healthy cat w/o doing the tests first. Hmmmm ok let's do it (tests) then. Response: 'Well I don't want to pressure you'. I get questioned on why I even brought the cat in. So the Dr. left & I waited like maybe 5 min max, texting a friend about my experience when I just got up & asked for my cat. I signed 3 documents, acknowledging that the Dr. is standing by his course of treatment & that I'm taking my cat on my own accord. Legal stuff. This is what I learned about me: Self don't make rash decisions after working 21 days & 28 shifts straight. On October 22nd 2025 my parents took their cat in to get her help because she was exhibiting signs of inability to breathe. Upon arrival, The staff was rude and completely lacked compassion or empathy toward the situation. And eventually told my parents that they needed to exit the facility after they asked if they could at least examine the cat for any physical issues that could be cause for the cats distress. The receptionist was friendly and the doctor competent however the vet tech was rude and had zero people skills. This vet will try to charge you for unnecessary things such as a 3 view abdomen X-ray to see urinary stones. I can understand 2 views(AP & lateral) but you do not need 2 laterals(L&R). If you know how xrays work then you know 2 laterals are never needed. They don't even do that on human patients. It's just a duplicate charge. When asked why they wanted both laterals the vet tech just said, "it's what the doctor wants." This tells me everything I need to know. This tells me they don't have a reasonable answer to give me. Also they wanted to use anesthesia for the xrays. Also completely unnecessary. No vet that I've ever been to has needed anesthesia for my dogs xrays. Ridiculous. When I tried to have some of these things removed from the bill the vet tech refused. Only go here if your dog is actively dying. read more

I figured my dog would die, partly due to my late diagnosis. But I had to try. Tulare Kings Emergency, gave me all the options, and all the costs. She made it ! She was below $ estimate too ! Very kind folks and they care... I have been there before and had the dog die in parking lot, before I even got out truck ... Unfortunately her vet was close over the weekend. She stopped eating and walking and was in pain. I came in, filled out the forms. They helped us take her out of the car and immediately placed an IV. Right after I got handed a bill, she said go pay and we will bring her back in the room. Ok, I like that's they are moving fast. To get us checked in. We wanted to be at her side for the process. By time they brought her back in the room they gave us no more than 10 min and the door banging began. They did this about 3 times in about 30 min we were there. I kept telling her I'm not ready. She seems so frustrated. She finally came back and said I need the room there is an emergency that came in. We can clearly hear the lobby was empty! I said ok we are ready. She was so rude and said do you have any questions? I said yes. What is the process? She gave me the snarkiest respond and said you do have questions, ok! Very annoyed I was asking. Excuse me Julie, with that kind of attitude you should not be putting dogs to rest. They quickly rush us out after a few minutes of my sweet girl passing. I hate that I allowed them to rush us out. I was so devastated I couldn't talk. Please look for other options if you have to put your babies down. Unless you want a drive through euthanizing service! To the staff: Do better and have more compassion! ****UPDATE: Belinda "manager" just HUNG UP ON ME over the phone! Very unprofessional. She said I will let you talk. I got a few words in before she decided to cut me off! Also lied that she reviewed her cameras and said her lobby was full. She claims she heard the introduction from her office (there was none) two of the rooms were opened and no one in the lobby when I stepped out to use the restroom. She then try to say I don't know their process. Of course I don't that was my complain! No one explain what would happen during our visit. DRIVE BY EUTHANIZING SERVICE! I am so thankful for this vet, we had to take our dog Noel in on a Friday night after another vet gave us not so positive news, needless to say I was a mess when I walked in here and the staff could not have been more professional and compassionate. The vet was very reassuring knowledgeable and made us feel like everything was going to be okay exactly what my panicked mind and heart needed. The customer service we received from the front office ladies and the techs who we spoke to each time we called was exceptional. I am forever thankful to them for helping our Noel and for treating us so well. read more
