    Pacific Crest Veterinarian and Equine

I have switched over to Pacific Crest Veterinarian a few months ago. Reason being is that I could no longer get our dog into our primary veterinarian. Do to being booked up months in advance. Our dogs groomer recommended Pacific Crest. We had to wait about 2 weeks for his first exam. Much better than 2 months plus. Their exams are very thorough. In the last few months our Dog has had teeth cleaning, extractions, surgery for growths on his body and acute Dermatitis. Dr. Drummond even found two sties inside his lower eyelid. I can only say wonderful things about Pacific Crest. They have full time Personnel for teeth cleaning and tooth extractions. Which most veterinarians do not. Both Dr. Drummond and Danny are two wonderful experienced people that really care about your pets well being. Their prices are in line and they do not price gouge. They only recommend what's essentially needed. You can tell they really like and care about animals. There assistants and office staff go beyond to help you. They are always friendly and caring. I highly recommend Pacific Crest Veterinarian in Exeter, CA. Note: all the Veterinarians at Pacific Crest Equine, Are Caring and Compassionate. . In fact all employees from the receptionists to the assistants are professional and caring. Pacific Crest Equine does not price gouge, like other facilities in the Visalia area.

Our pup Nina developed a horrible ear infection and they were able to get us in the next day. The staff was very kind and took their time to give our dog a very thorough exam and educate us on the issue (two types of bacteria and yeast) and treatment. They cleaned her ears and sent us home with meds and a realistic timeline of when things would look better. At our follow up they checked everything again and sure enough she still had some bacteria so they scheduled us back in two weeks to make sure it's all gone. Nina is a fearful little dog who is easily stressed in new situations, but she had absolutely no fear here and actually seemed to enjoy the attention. Thank you for the great care and kindness!

    Healthy pup!

Dr Drummond is my dogs regular vet, and you can just TELL how much she loves these animals. My dog is a 12lb chihuahua mix and he shakes and gets nervous at everything - but he gets EXCITED when he sees Dr Drummond and that truly tells you something. He loves her, and therefore I love her. I have to say this office is so incredibly patient. My dog is like my child and every time he does something slightly out of the ordinary I panic and call this office- yet they're always patient with me and always willing to offer advice. If you want a vet who truly cares for your animal - this is the place to be.

I don't live in town but when my local vet couldn't see my dog (I have been a client since 1982 and my parents took my childhood pets there when I was a kid) I brought her here. The minute I walked in the door I could tell there was a vast difference in how they treated their clients and ran the clinic. The front receptionists were friendly and very efficient as are the vet assistants. Dr Lessler came into the exam room and sat on the floor to examine my dog. She was extremely through in asking about my dogs health including what she ate and her daily routine. Unlike my local vet I didn't feel like I was being rushed through the exam just to get me out the door. Unfortunately I was quite surprised to find my dog has a serious life-threatening condition and I really feel if we had waited to see my local vet my dog wouldn't have survived. I am very critical when it comes to the care of my animals and I felt everyone there has their best interests at heart. The office is clean and in a beautiful location and even though it's a few miles away I am making them my "regular vet" because I felt my dog really received wonderful care. Another bonus is they fax my dogs claims and invoices directly to her insurance company so I don't have to do it. Just all in all outstanding customer service!!

Outlaw is a happy puppy on his way home!!

This was the first time that we ever had a dog and ever lived in this area with foxtails. Did not know the severity of it. They quoted me over $700 to get him anesthesia, to look in the ear with a camera then treat and tons of other extras. I denied it and went elsewhere and the bill was less than half about 350$ The second time i came my daughter had to take our other dog because i was at work. seemed like he got something in his eye and it was swollen. The dr was so rude to my daughter who is 16 by the way insinuating that she doesn't take care of the dog. Again the est bill was over $700 not only was this overpriced but after that terrible customer service with the dr ain't no way would we spend out money there. The front desk lacks empathy to people who lost their dogs. It's overpriced and they will try to add on anything to get you to pay more go to tulare king vet in Tulare off Blackstone way more affordable and amazing customer service by the staff and doctor.

He said because I had seen a vet that wasn't him in the past, he needed to do a full work up that included X-rays, skin cultures, sedatives, cones, operating room, other supplies etc...I told the tech that it wasn't all necessary so they removed $200 worth of services they originally said were "necessary". I said it still did not feel right and I left to think about what I should do. When I called to schedule the service, because my dog is not getting any better, the Veterinarian refused to allow my pet to be scheduled because I indicated what I felt about the cost of his proposed services on an after visit survey. This guy is a joke and does not care about your pets. Dr. K is a Crook!! If I could rate him - stars I would!

It's a fairly long drive for us, but we made the ride. The place is very easily located on Blackstone very close to Hearndon. The practice is physically huge, and extremely well kept up. The lobby is clean, spacious and very client oriented with a phone charging station, coffee, tea and snacks available. Even late at night there were two folks manning the front desk, and let me tell you, they are rock stars: calm, patient and unflappable, friendly and caring. Everyone we dealt with that night was calm, professional and empathetic. Our issue was serious, and got immediate attention. The doctor was calming and knowledgable, and gave us very complete information. We were there a long while that night and into the next morning, and staff was the same with everyone who came in. The hospital is remarkably well equipped. Vet medicine is never quick, but it was clear they were doing their best throughout. We HIGHLY recommend these folks in general, but especially for after hours emergencies. One note: they are very good, but this is not an inexpensive option.

1-Star Review -- Extremely Disappointing Experience…read more I brought my dog Ellie to Fresno Veterinary Specialty and Emergency when she was already extremely sick, and we were very worried about her. The first thing they did was hand us a $780 estimate/authorization to sign so they can perform a triage. We did NOT sign it. We asked for an emergency exam because we needed to know what was wrong with our dog. What was extremely frustrating was that the emergency exam basically consisted of us telling the vet what was wrong. They did not check her vitals or perform any testing until we agreed to additional charges. They then presented us with another charge of about $300 to test for parvo, which we agreed to. It came back negative. They then offered to check her blood sugar, which was another additional charge. Her blood sugar was 28. We were repeatedly told that Ellie would not make it if we didn't hospitalize her. We asked what other options we had, and they offered a dextrose injection, explaining that it might raise her blood sugar within 15 minutes to an hour. But insisted that it would not be enough to help her. We agreed to the injection anyway and signed for the treatment. Afterward, they told us they did not recommend taking her home because she would not make it through the night. We took her home anyway. On the way, we bought a blood glucose meter so we could monitor her ourselves. Ellie continued getting worse, and we were even considering taking her back to euthanize her because we didn't want her suffering. Before doing that, I checked her blood sugar myself. It was over 400. Her blood sugar had been 28 at the hospital and was over 400 after the dextrose injection. I am not a veterinarian, so I cannot say whether the dosage was too much, but seeing such a drastic change while my dog was getting worse was terrifying. I decided not to give up on her. I stayed up with her, syringe-fed her, gave her water, monitored her blood sugar, and cared for her through the night. Ellie survived. She is now doing amazing and is completely fine. What makes this experience even more upsetting is that this was the third time my family experienced something similar at this hospital. The first time was with my brother's dog. He was told essentially the same thing -- that there was no hope for his dog. Unfortunately, he trusted that information and made the heartbreaking decision to euthanize her. The second time was with my sister's dog. She was also told there was little to no hope and was presented with numerous tests and charges. My sister decided to take her dog home instead. Her dog got better. Then it happened to me with Ellie. After what happened with Ellie, this was my last straw. I understand emergency veterinary care is expensive, and I understand that tests and treatment cost money. My issue is feeling like you cannot get real answers or options without continually agreeing to additional charges, while being told your pet has little to no chance. I truly believe Ellie could have died if I had simply accepted what I was told and given up on her. I will never take another pet here again. If you bring your pet here, ask questions, make sure you understand exactly what is included in the exam, ask about alternatives, and don't be afraid to get a second opinion.

I have a dog with behavioral issues, and I was seeking professional guidance. Instead, the vet pushed immediately for anti-psychotic medications without much conversation. I liked the general environment and found most staff pleasant, but the vet's attitude stood out--in a bad way. On our second visit, it got worse. The vet avoided speaking to me directly, communicating only through the nurse. They also refused to do basic procedures--like anal gland expression--due to my dog's anxiety, without offering solutions to help manage it. What really upset me was the vet's clear bias against French Bulldogs. He made snide remarks, showing a stigma toward the breed. All dogs deserve equal care, regardless of breed. I felt judged simply for having a French Bulldog. To top it off, they added unjustified charges to the bill. When I requested an itemized breakdown, the bill magically got cheaper, which made it clear they had padded the initial charges, hoping I wouldn't check. I will never go back. If you have a French Bulldog--or frankly, if you value fair, professional care--I would not recommend Tulare Veterinary Hospital.
