Early last year, I finally decided to make an appointment for a free consultation here at Laser Spa & Center. The esthetician, Tatiana, recommended for me 3 treatments of IPL (Intense Pulse Light) and 3 treatments of Microneedling. Each treatment one month apart, a total of 6 months to complete. The esthetician wanted me to start on my IPL first. The most interesting thing about this treatment, your spots will get super dark before it starts to fade. It actually looks way worse then when you first started. I mean, it looks like someone took a black Sharpie pen and drew dots all over your face. She told me not freak out but I did when I saw how dark it looked in the next few days. And lo and behold, it then starts to fade. By the third treatment, she cranked up that dial and went to town on my face. Spots that weren't there showed up. By the end of my IPL treatments, pretty much all my spots had faded except for the ones right under my eyes. The tissue is too thin there and she is not allow to work around that area. Benefits of IPL includes: - Brighter, Firmer, Tighter Skin - Brighter, more even tone from dark/sun damage - Improved Texture - Reduced Redness - Reduced Pore Size Microneedling - Collagen Induction Therapy. A microneedling pen (dermapen), vertically pierces the skin with hundreds of micro holes to naturally stimulate collagen and elastin. You lose most of your collagen in your 30s. She first numbs my face for half an hour. As she starts going over my skin with the dermapen, I start to bleed, this allows for new collagen to come out. The needles ranging from 0.5 to 2.5 millimeters will be used on different parts of your face. Some areas of your face will hurt more, such as the nose where the tissue is thin. - Benefits of microneedling includes: - Skin tightening and lifting - Improves acne scars - Improves wrinkles and fine lines - Minimizes pore size Results may vary and recovery time is different for everyone. For me, I was told that I didn't bleed as much as some other patients. My face felt tight for the first few days. All the redness were gone by the third day. As the weeks went by, I see an immediate difference, especially after my 2nd and 3rd treatment. Some frown lines around my mouth bothered me when I didn't smile. After all the treatments were complete, the frown lines were a lot less noticeable. I also noticed that my skin was less oily. Today was my fourth microneedling treatment.
