Came here to get a required Covid-19 test for work, due to company protocols, despite not having any symptoms or any contact with people sick with Covid-19. Only came to get a test that was required so that I could do my job. Was heckled in an unprofessional manner by the doctor for my personal decision to not get the Covid-19 vaccine. In addition to the unprofessional attitude from staff here, this location is unable to bill insurance correctly. My original visit was on 3/27/2022, and I have still been unable to get them to correctly bill my 2 insurance carriers I have, despite calling Patient services 3 times. The only reason I am giving this CareNow 2 stars is because how well I was treated by the people at the front desk, the nurse and the people I spoke to on the phone. The wait time was not bad at all. The waiting area was clean and up to date with the social distancing guidelines. I specifically went to this carenow because I was told I could get a rapid test even before I showed up. The answer I was given was a yes. I work full time at an Amazon warehouse and get tested there weekly because of the people I go home to. I am not trying to get my mom sick and have her take Covid to her classroom of preschoolers. The day before I went to this carenow my mother went to a different carenow location and was not met by a rude and disrespectful provider. She was given a rapid test with no hesitation. I was told by the assistant manager and a nurse that I could get a rapid test. The nurse agreed with me that the rapid test was a good choice for me since I already get tested weekly at work. Mind you I was not symptomatic until after I had gotten my negative result for the week. Following my negative result my work bestie got a positive. The provider comes in very rudely, didn't even catch her name. And she asks me why I want to get the Covid test. I tell her the person I work the closest with got a positive test and I am showing a decent amount of symptoms. I also took medicine that did absolutely nothing yesterday and the day before. So I'm not in here just for funsies. She comes back with those are not very good reasons you could have the flu or a cold. Yes I could have the flu or a cold but however, we are in this weird pandemic life thing and I would like to get a Covid test. THAT IM PAYING FOR. If I wanted to wait till I went to work it would be free, but by then all The people I work with would then be getting sick with not just Covid with whatever I'm spreading around too. Then she says I have two options both options take 2-5 days. And I said I specifically came to this location and type of place because I was told I could get a rapid test. And she said because I am not a first responder or a medical professional she is not willing to give me one. I am very very unhappy at this point. She then says it's at the providers discretion on who gets a rapid test. Okay well then that needs to be told. She then pretty much calls me a liar and says that her assistant manager would never tell me yes without an explanation. And I'm like okay well he did. Then I grab my stuff to leave and she's like let's go ask him. And I'm like yes let's. And he proves me right and she doesn't even apologize. Just sends me back to my room. The nurse comes in and says she's ordering the test and she apologizes for the provider. Turns out that provider is just a part time provider. And all the other providers just generally do it. IF I AM PAYING FOR IT JUST GIVE IT TO ME. I AM NOT IN THERE FOR FUN TO GET A Q TIP SHOVED UP BOTH SIDES OF MY NOSE. Other than that my visit was nice. Even though I was sick. Going to CareNow was an absolute waste of time and money! I was suffering from a severe allergic reaction and had giant hives from head to toe. Once I finally saw the doctor I told her I had already taken multiple Benadryl and Zyrtec to relieve the itching. She suggested taking one more Zyrtec should solve the issue. I was extremely disappointed and baffled that she had no other resolution. I was expecting her to offer a steroid shot or something of higher caliber than another Zyrtec. I could have stayed home and saved $170 with that advice. I will never go here again. read more

Most expensive mistake I have made in a long time and it will be one that I will end up being mad about for the rest of the year... and it's only February. On Sunday, February 21st, I decided to do a web-checkin for CareNow. My ears and throat had started hurting really bad late Friday night and I am usually the type who wants to go to the doctor before I get really sick and nip whatever it is in the bud. Hence my decision to check-in at CareNow instead of my primary care doctor who isn't open on the weekends. 9:15am Sunday, I go to my appointment, I was there 15 minutes, and I was told I had a double ear infection and strep throat. I was given Amoxicillin as an antibiotic for the infection, Antipyrine-Benzocaine drops for the ear infections and Tramadol for the pain. Drove thru Panera Bread and got soup and had the prescriptions filled. Took the medicines fully expecting to be feeling better in 24hours or so. 48hours later, I call CareNow. Not only am I not any better, I'm actually worse. You see I mentioned pressure in my sinuses but since I wasn't sniffling or sneezing during my appointment they just ignored the impending Sinusitis that was developing. 5:40pm Tuesday... I go back to CareNow. I'm miserable and shaky and lightheaded and now too sick to drive the 25miles to my primary care doc. CareNow calls me back in. I have to pretty much demand an injection (which would have been my PCP's first step two days earlier).. and then they give me Bactrim (antibiotic that is usually used for UTI's, um, wimpy) and Astelin Nasal Spray for the Sinusitis. 3:30pm Thursday... I call the nurse at my primary care doctor's office and beg them to call in a prescription to my CVS around the corner. Still not any better. Give them the names of all the drugs and the injection and they quickly call in Avelox (3rd anitbiotic)... Low and behold... I was better within about 6 hours.. too bad I had already missed 4 full days of work and Friday was my previously scheduled "every other Friday off". Care Now: two "urgent care" office visit co-pays $45 * 2 = $90 5 Prescirptions = $7.25 + $30.00 + $11.56 + $4.20 + $15.00 = $68.01 22 wasted hours of sick time (all I had left for the ENTIRE year thanks to brain surgery) 14 wasted hours of vacation time My Primary Care Doc: one phone call 1 prescription = $45.00... better in 6 hours. Next time I will call a TAXI to drive me to Las Colinas and not go see Care Now docs. Their motto is apparently: Take these pills and come back in two days... lets see how sick you really get. read more

Anyone that DOES NOT have a life-threatening medical emergency SHOULD NOT go here: This place is the epitome of what NOT to do and how NOT to treat a patient. The phlebotomy tech that draws blood is the absolute worst anyone could ask for. His job: -To draw blood and label them What he does: -Make judgmental assumptions based on the test that was ordered. -Ask offensive loaded questions about the lifestyle of the patient -Reply with snarky laughs and judgmental tones once the patient corrects those ridiculous assumptions. He was the perfect example of what not to do professionally, ethically, and as a person. People in 3rd world countries that work for free would not act as unprofessional and judgmental as he did. If you're not satisfied with your job or not happy with life, change it. Stop spreading your bigotry to the patients. What he was doing was NOT ONLY unprofessional, it is flat out UNSATISFACTORY as a HUMAN BEING. From now on I will be taking my business to Prima Care, or perhaps anywhere else. If you're a clumsy drunk like me, neighborhood clinics are awesome. I slipped on a step and fell down my stairs inside my apartment. There was a reason why I didn't participate in athletic sports in grade school. Sigh... idiot. Anyways, I did the whole web check-in process and one of the guys gave me a call shortly after and let me know when they were ready for me. Even upon arriving there there was a bunch of waiting going on before and throughout my visit, but not longer than the walk-ins that were there before me. They have TVs playing DVD movies in the waiting room and in the different treatment rooms where you'll be entertained while suffering from your ailments. I guess National Treasure was an okay movie. :-/ The nurses and Dr. Holly McCoy were really polite and helpful with treating me. They gave me a copy of my x-rays on a souvenir CD to help me remember how much of a klutz I can be and a boot for my ankle. They also steered me to an orthopedic doctor since they thought I would need a cast and/or surgery. (After going to the orthopedic doctor the doc said no surgery and the boot was good enough.) Unless there is a cure for being clumsy I'll be back! read more

I was told one thing upon calling in and a completely different thing when I arrived. If I had know it was going to be such a hassle I would have gone through the online check in, but the associate I spoke to advised me that was not necessary. I checked in online which was very easy. I received a call back within 10 minutes to verify my insurance information and they told me to come in. When I arrived I waited about 10 minutes, and then I was in a room. I was back in my car in less than an hour. This process was very quick even with it being a busy day. The staff were very friendly. I literally mean everyone was friendly from the woman who called me, the woman who greeted me when I walked in, the nurse, the PA, to the person who I checked out with. Before I could get there they had already called to confirm. I walked in and they were ready for me. Straight to the exam room where I was triaged by a LVN and then the MD was in immediately to examine me. Straight to X-ray. Etc etc you get the point. Not only were they quick and efficient, they were all super friendly. When I'm hurting and irritable - friendly and quick is what I need. I have been here twice now- once for myself and the second time was yesterday for my GF's supposed ear infection. Everything turned out just fine, which was a blessing! We did receive timely care, even though we did not complete a web check in. Something was glitchy on their website, so you couldn't go past a certain step in their process online. Other than that, everything went without a hitch, which was nice. Maybe a 30 min. wait - from filling out paperwork down to payment. $45 was all it cost but there was no tests to be run at all so that kept cost low. Keep in mind this place will charge PER test and you are expected to pay in full when you leave. Your insurance will have to cover the remainder later on down the road. Just wish this place had a location closer to downtown! read more

They say first impressions are everything, and my first time here was a complete let down from start to finish, beginning with the horrid wait time and ending with my incompetent doctor (Dr. Cuadra) who prescribed me something I already had told her I was allergic to. Web check in is nice, but I had to call them after an hour and a half wait just to find out that I could go in. I had done web check in at 9 am and received a call 10 minutes later that there was an hour to an hour and a half wait. The last time I went to the Plano location it was only a 10 minute wait but I figured since it was North Dallas it was much busier. Almost 2 hours later I called back and said I didn't receive a call to come in and it already had been over an hour and a half. The person who picked up the phone then told me to go ahead and come in. Had I not called back, I cannot even imagine how much longer my wait would have been. Upon walking in, there were two girls at the desk who looked up and didn't even greet me or acknowledge me. One girl walked to the back, and another continued to tend to a patient at the desk. I patiently stood at the desk for a minute or two until a third girl came up and finally helped me with some paperwork. All in all there was a LOT of waiting involved. From the time I was at the desk to the time I had my first interaction with the doctor was almost two hours. Pretty pointless if web check in is supposed to speed the process along. But what made my visit the worst was the doctor's prescription. The doctor found I had pneumonia and asked me what I was allergic to. I said was allergic to zithromax, just like I told the nurse before her. After she left, another nurse came in to give me shots and my paperwork and prescriptions. She told me the doctor was prescribing me a "Z pak", which to my knowledge had zithromax in it! My nurse asked me again if I was allergic to zithromax, and I told her again that I was. I had to wait another half hour just to get my prescription paperwork changed. Had my nurse not caught the doctors mistake, and had I not known that a Z pak has zithromax, I probably would have had a severe reaction to it and possibly ended up worse than pneumonia! Overall a complete let down and completely incompetent staff and doctor. The visit from start to finish lasted from my web check in at 9am to leaving at 12:45pm. I will be returning to the Plano location even though it is almost 20 minutes farther than this location. read more

Cut my finger pretty bad and went to Baylor ER from downtown, waited 2 hrs. Everyone in the ER waiting room had that look of neglect. So, I called over to CareNow in N. Dallas and decided to head that way. The clinic was busy but I got in for stitches immediately. Clara Sisk was my P.A., she was very nice and funny (I was funnier). The entire staff made my disgusting cut-up sausage finger a high priority and it really made my day. Thanks to everyone! read more

There's online check in...we are on a no copay and high deductible plan...will pay $143 for sored throat visit. the wait was not too bad on a Saturday night compared to our regular family doctors visit on Saturday morning, filled out paper work waited for about 30~40mins called inside wait in room for another about 5mins or so the doctor showed up she was pretty nice and thorough and tested wifey for strep then wrote us a prescription for antibiotics and pain killers.....also got a shot to ease the pain/fever etc. the cost is a bit higher but they open on the weekend and it's fairly close by which is always a plus...we then proceeded to the 24hrs pharmacy that's another review coming up later.... all and all a pretty decent visit, wifey felt a lot better when she got home...time to rice soup~ read more

Got called at 1:17 and arrived back at 1:30. Still wasn't seen until about 2pm. And waited and waited and waited to be seen. Time I left after seeing the doctor and 2 different nurses for a basic flu/strep visit? 4pm. I have been to this Care Now location many times with my children and with my spouse. And have always had a good experience. But you can expect a long wait if you are a walk-in. You can call in and wait at home until you are told it's time to come in. By the way, one of the reasons for the wait could also be that their charges or very reasonable. (Had an unhappy experience with another urgent care clinic, which listed themselves as urgent care, but said they are an emergency services clinic, but still needs to send you to the hospital in a true emergency. In reality they had an upscale clinic, good doctors, but want to charge you like an emergency hospital visit, big $$$$) This clinic has well trained doctor's, p.a.'s, and nurses, and we would not hesitate to return here. read more

WOW - horrible - I made an appointment and they called me back to say that they couldn't see me that day, were too busy / understaffed and they cancelled my appointment. Not great, but I went elsewhere after they wasted my time. A few weeks later I get a bill for not showing up to the appointment that THEY cancelled. I called and after about 15 mins of my time was told it was being resolved and the invoice would be changed to no charge. Of course, a few weeks later I get another bill demanding payment. I call again, and after about 15 mins they tell me the case is in review and I am still responsible for the bill until they resolve the case. Nothing they can do, it's their policy to keep sending bills during the review process. What review - it was their mistake - they should cancel the charge immediately and appolgize for wasting my time. I will not be going to or trying to go to another CareNow in the future. This CareNow had a very sweet receptionist and amazing nurse who got my daughter laughing as she told her stories to forget about the laceration she was cleaning up so the doctor could take a look at it. The doctor seemed nice enough but she kept grimacing at the laceration on the bottom of my daughter's foot. I got very irritated because she did this for at least 3 minutes looking around the laceration saying how bad it was. Even I could look at it without freaking my daughter out the way she was. She then told me we had to go to the hospital because they could not do the stitches on her foot. OK, fine, we leave and head to the hospital. So, I pay the hospital my co-pay (who deep cleaned, x-rayed, stitched and bandaged my daughter up). Now a month later, I get a bill from CareNow for the $40 co-pay to look at a laceration and say they could not do anything. I called the billing department to find out what I am being charged for and apparently just getting brought to the back and looked at will cost your insurance company $173. Usually CareNow is my go to for my children, but I will be thinking twice about that going forward. read more

I was in Dallas on a two week business trip. On my third night there I woke up with a fever of 102, a sore throat and a hacking cough. The next morning I took a cab to CareNow. I was seen quickly, the staff was friendly, and the service was professional. Everyone was very sympathetic and compassionate about the fact I was so far away from home, staying in a hotel, and getting sick. I was impressed with the fact that two days after my visit, one of the nurses called to check in on me. My experience at CareNow was exceptional. read more

They left me sitting in the lobby for over an hour, and while I was there waiting, got another call from them telling me to come on in when I was already sitting in the lobby. went to the desk and told one of the girls, who was like oh sorry... it was obvious they never checked me in. Sat in the room forever, and after seeing the doctor they told me the nurse would be right back with paperwork. She never came. Had to flag someone down in the hallway to get discharge paperwork. Staff is very rude.. the girl working the front desk should in no way be up there greeting the public..doesn't even make eye contact or look up from what she is doing to check anyone in. 7 days later, still no test results. read more

Updating my review based on my most recent visit. I was in respiratory distress and we came here because this is the closest urgent care to our home. I was called back and given a breathing treatment within 10 minutes, despite others waiting in the lobby ahead of me. I felt like the staff were much kinder than my previous visit, and the treatment was appropriate for what was going on. Went here with symptoms of dizziness, headache and nausea. Got a check-up from them, including a look inside my ears. Found nothing. Was recommended to check in at the emergency room due to the dizziness being a big cause of concern. 5 hours and $400 later the hospital diagnosed me with an ear infection within 2 minutes of them seeing me and were shocked this facility couldn't even pick that up during their check up. My nurse said they frequently receive patients referred from here for needless reasons because of their fear of liability. so if you want to spend needless time and money to wind up with no diagnosis for a simple ailment, be my guest. read more

Front desk ladies were completely rude and unprofessional. When I walked in, it wasn't a 'welcome to CareNow, how can I help you?' It was a 'what brings you in?' Only time the front desk ladies smiled was when they were telling jokes to each other about different patients. Along with that, I waited there for 2 hours just to take a drug test for employment. The front desk ladies said that each drug test takes between 5-10 minutes, but there were only 4 people in front of me. I'll never be back. Awful experience. read more
