What I experienced this morning was some of the most blatant neglect that I could at a clinic. Shenise Bratton was cold and unprofessional from the beginning, as soon as she threw open the door as if she had better places to be. Instead of listening, she hurried me and checked ONE ear before she tried to leave. I literally had to stop her and give her more information so she could better "diagnose" me. She then haughtily checked my other ear and then my throat upon my direction. I was barely even told what she thought was wrong with me. I had to read it on the paper afterwards and google it. The nurse spent more time with me collecting information than she did. Oh, and are NP's even allowed to diagnose alone in Texas? There was no other person in there with us. Something to think about. I had a really bad allergic reaction to poison ivy. Even though I was using topical treatments, the rash continued to spread, so I knew it was time for a steroid shot. I booked an appointment online and uploaded all my insurance information so all I had to do was tell the receptionist I was there. The doctor came in shortly after I checked in a room and gave me the OK for a steroid. In addition, they called in the prescription at my local pharmacy. The facility was clean, the check-in was efficient, the employee at the desk very competent and nice. Unfortunately, I was told after checking in that that location did not accept Medicare. Either you do or you don't - you don't make us run all over town after checking your website where it says you DO accept Medicare. If you are at an emergency health facility, the last thing you can do is drive all over town. This visit ran me $180. I am on Medicare and Social Security, this means I have to figure out how to pay the utility bill this month. The nurse that took my vitals was efficient, though incredibly cold and unapproachable; it was like working with an AI. The nurse practitioner I saw was fine, however, the medication prescribed was nowhere near what I needed. Over the next day and a half not only did I not get better, I got much, much worse. I ended up at my primary doctors (carenow was over the long holiday weekend) where she was incredibly upset with the condition I was in by this point. Basically, she tripled the type of medications and added several steroids; I will be on this for a solid month as opposed to the seven days from carenow. I hurt my hand at work I broke a finger busted 3 nails one required surgery to be put back in place. I come for the follow ups and tell the doctor that I don't feel comfortable at work with my hand bothering me and she tells me that im inpatient. I broke one of the bruised nails right in half and I asked for it to be removed and she said no. She doesn't want to add unnecessary treatments. Aside of the long waiting time of 2-4 hours with appointment they don't take you serious and I try to explain and I get rudely interrupted. I did the online check in on Monday and said they would call me when i was ready. All I needed was a simple strep test takes 15 minutes tops. They called so I headed there only to wait over an hour but said I was "ready" to be seen. Finally make it to the room and the nurse asked me all the questions like usual I told her my throat hurt and I had a low fever. She did the swap test and said it would take about 15 minutes. A whole hour goes by waiting in the room waiting for the result and doctor to come in. When she finally did come in she asked me the same exact questions as the nurse did. She even said "so no fever?" I said yes I have a fever I told the nurse that. Did you not read the nurses notes like a doctor should before seeing the patient ???? Whatever. Strep test was negative so I went home. Now today (Wednesday) symptoms are the same but my throat feels like I'm swallowing razor blazes so I checked the back of my throat and sure enough white pus all over my tonsils so yes it is strep. Worst experience I've ever had at CareNow. Took all day (over 8 hours) and multiple phone calls to the clinic (they hung up on me twice) to get my prescription sent to the pharmacy and corrected. When they finally sent the prescription to the pharmacy, the dosage was wrong and the pharmacy had to call them AGAIN for it to be corrected. PA told me that because this is my second time being treated for a UTI, they won't treat me for one going forward and I need to go to a urologist instead. I've been to this location multiple times over the years for various reasons, but will never go back to this location after the horrible mistreatment and service today. If I could give this clinic zero stars I would.They should be SHUT DOWN. Unless your Worker's Comp. or something else that's guaranteed contract money you're NOT a priority. I checked in at 6:30 am (got a text at 6:32am confirming I checked in) got a phone call at 7:30am that it would be be prolly between 8:30-9 when I'll be seen. Called the clinic about 10 times ( not even joking) throughout the day asking for updates on being see/to be see /explaining i am sick etc. and finally around 4:45 they told me to come in and they would squeeze me. I waited for 2 hours in the lobby (with covid symptoms which the staff was aware of) - I never had vitals taken or anything. I asked to speak to a manager as I felt this was becoming poor patient care as I had been complaining of chest pain. After being told they would get someone to speak with me (they never did) I asked AGAIN what was going on and kept getting every excuse under the sun. In the 2 hours i was there i saw 2 patients leave. When I explain again I needed care as I have having trouble breathing and was visually becoming upset I was dismissed by the LAB TECH (Carly) and felt personal attacked by her. For a LAB TECH, not a doctor, not nurse, to tell me that I was having trouble breathing and chest pains JUST because I was upset was absolutely ridiculous. This was beyond poor patient care and I opted to leave as I didn't feel safe being treated. I will be raising this with Care Now as well. I took my mom here because unfortunately we where caught in a car crash and she needed stitches above her eyebrow. Paramedics recommended us a CareNow since there was no other injury or signs of any traumatic injuries and only needed stitches. I take her here because it was the nearest one and i wanted my mom attended asap. The doctor was also oddly insistent about my mom getting the ambulance and have them transport her to a hospital. I asked the doctor if we (my dad who was the one driving us around now) could just take her to the hospital ourselves and not call the ambulance,she was very insistent about her getting a freaking ambulance for transportation. I asked the doctor what hospital would my mom be taken to,she said she didn't know,and that the paramedics would let me now as soon as they arrived. That made absolutely NO sense to me,how in the world are you not going to know!!! My mom was hesitant but soon agreed,they then called for an ambulance,paramedics arrive,i go to the front of the clinic to get checked out,get ripped off with $160 for them doing absolutely nothing to my mom but reopening her cut and checking her vitals!!! when i come to out,my mom is sitting in the truck with my dad,im like what happened? They said that the PARAMEDICS themselves! Said that we would just be paying 1k dollars for a transportation WE COULD DO ON OUR OWN!!!! So guess what,WE ended up taking my mom to the hospital in our own vehicle!!! I just can't believe how unprofessional this place is. And to charge me $160 dollars for no freaking reason? I was sent her by worker's comp as a quick and easy place. I ended up waiting over an hour to have a NP come in for 5 minutes and go over my reason for being there before saying ther is nothing he can do as a NP. I never got to see a doctor but instead waited another 30 minutes to be given papers (after requesting what was taking so long) to get a prescription that I had no information on. I'm sorry but I have never been treated so inappropriately in a doctor's office and have reported their services to CareNow corporate and the State Medical Board. I hope my review will help others. My mom recently came in for a drug test for her job. Tell me why we showed up at 8 am with only 1-2 people in line to do the same type of service and we were told to wait. PAINFUL WASTE of THREE HOURS (not very "urgent") with a COLLAPSED LUNG for Dr. Zehra Hussain to just LOOK at my son (not the x-rays from the emergency room or the ER doctors recommendation, not the hour-old x-ray from his primary care physician and/or his recommendations, and not even the desire, curiosity, or duty to order her own x-rays, because that would be too easy and ethical) for ONE MINUTE and say "you should see your physician and follow up with a pulmonologist...bye." On the Physician's Report of Injury (his lung collapsed at work WHILE WORKING) she stated "injury was not work-related" (she deduced that just by looking at him with her psychic abilities) and that he "may return to work with no restrictions" TODAY (because exertion could only "help" a collapsed lung, right?!). But wait, there's more. She also reported "this is the last scheduled visit for this problem...at this time, no further medical care is anticipated." For a collapsed lung. Wow, Dr. Hussain, YOU'RE A DANGER TO PEOPLE WITH INJURIES AND SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO PRACTICE MEDICINE!!! I had the pleasure of having Jennifer Burtt, PA, as my provider. I have never been to an urgent care before because I rarely get sick but I did not hear very good things about them. I felt horrible but I did not want to go to the ER. I found this place on yelp and hoped that even though it only had three stars, they would be competent enough to diagnose my cough fever chills and body aches. I didn't know about the online check-in so unfortunately my wait was a little bit longer than I had expected. All of the staff were very courteous. Even though they could not find my insurance information they still only charged me a $20 co-pay in good faith. Once I was in the room Jennifer came in within 10 minutes to see me. She did what I felt was a thorough check and assessment and listened to all my questions and complaints. She took her time and did not seem rushed and I really appreciated that. I told the nurse that I was breast-feeding but I forgot to tell Jennifer before she wrote me the prescription for an antibiotic. (Yes this is my fault. Health care providers are human. They can't read minds people. You have to volunteer this info) Before I even got my prescription completely filled at Walgreens she called me to tell me that she saw on the nurses assessment that I was breast-feeding and the antibiotic that she wrote me for was not appropriate to take while breast-feeding. She then called the Walgreens I was in a gave a verbal prescription for a different antibiotic. Not only did it let me know that she was thorough, it also let me know that she does review the nurses notes and the treatment of patients is a collaborative effort. I don't know why this place only has 3 stars. Maybe the people thar gave them a low rating have never been to an ER before. Or even a doctors visit. I wish I could remember the nurses name because she gave the best injection I've ever had.I am deathly afraid of needles and I didn't even feel it when she gave it to me. Pricing is very feasible also. Without my insurance the total for the visit which included being seen by a PA flu swab, tylenol, and 2 prescriptions, was about $350. If I could give this facility a zero stars I would. I went in to be seeing for my throat hurting and they tested me for strep throat they told me those results would be right away but that the covid test would take four days. I was seen on Monday and was called Friday with them telling me the strep test came back positive and the physician charles told me that very Monday it came back Negative. Friday they said it was positive and Saturday they called to tell me I was positive for COVID 19. I go to the clinic to pick up results Sunday morning and the lady in the front desk had no Idea what I was talking about and kept putting me on hold. Then she said if you dont have symptoms from the 3rd day you got tested you can go back to work so Im here thinking something's off, they had told me Sat that I had to quarantine for 10 days. The they changes their story so I asked the lady ok you aren't making any sense and she cut me off and transferred me to Carly when I talked to her she said sorry we gave you the wrong information and I said are you freaking kidding me and she started laughing and said yes me-am im sorry. I work for a multifamily complex I go in and out apartments you cant just laugh at a matter like this because I had notified my manager and she had to notify residents. I under stand mistakes happen but for them to be so rude and unprofessional about this is beyond disrespectful. I have worked at a clinic as a medical assistant and phlebotomy tech and Never did I make such a mistake thats the reason you ask the name last name and DOB which they did so I dont understand how this could have happened she did mention having tons of covid tests done so if they cant handle the patients charts they need to stop taking in patients or hire more staff.
